This is true. My elderly parents received a call and this young man who claimed to be my son, crying and claiming he was in jail and needed help to get out. He claimed he was too scared to call his parents, and they were sworn to tell no one. Unfortunately, they fell for it and were scammed over two days for over $4K. These people need to rot in hell. They wired money to Peru, to a national bail bondsman. As soon as they got the transfer, my son was out of jail.

I got a call from this cell number, the guy said "Hi grandma"...I replied ummm you've got the wrong number (especially since I don't have any children therefor no grandchildren). I have heard of this scam where they tell the "grandma" that they are in trouble or something and need money to be sent to "help them".
