yes its a scam, don't fall for it... not everyone's grandkids are in jail!!!!!

Had a call from "grandson."  He made me promis to tell NOONE!  When I promised he told me he was in jail.  Stopped night before (in car with friends) drugs found under seat.  He was tested out ok.  Needed bond bail.  Would transfer me to his lawyer.
In conversation with "lawyer"  $2,200 was to be sent by Western Union to a Joe Griffin at 2124 Delrio Blvd, Puno, Peru.  If I was asked if it was for a bail bond I was to say no.
I was very upset, didn't know where to turn.  I asked my brother to look up the "lawyer" phone number given to me and this is where it ends.  Tried reporting to police.  Found they have it on record as ongoing.

My father has been getting calls on his landline and cell phone today from a woman stating that his grandson is in jail and to send money via Western Union for $ 2000.00. And then when the money is wired to call Attorney David Ross at 1-438-933-4816 to confirm. Then they had someone pretending to be his "grandson" asking him to hurry up and wire the money.... I am calling the police now to report this.

My Mother received the call on Feb. 27, 2012. They said it was her grandson & she kept asking him to speak up because she could barely hear him. She told him that it didn't sound like him. He said he had a cold which she knew differently since he lives in the same house as her & had just left for work. My Mother just hung up on him. The next day we reported it to our Sheriff's Dept. which they were aware of this.

In-laws got call yesterday from 'grandson' in jail. Needed bail of $2000. Lawyer called back with details. Wanted money sent through Western Union to Spain. This would expedite bail. Luckily I was there when the 'lawyer' called back otherwise I am sure the in-laws would have sent the money.
