Relative of mine also received call from this number asking for $4000 and not to let anyone else know they were in trouble. Looks like number is from Montreal area. A very bad and disgusting scam preying on grandparents, etc.!!!

Scam received call with bogus story about grandson arrested as he and friend were driving to San Jose CA picked up hitch hiker, CHP pulled them over found drugs on hitch hiker and all were arrested. Used a bogus Officer Nelson as a name. Wanted $5000.00 in bail and to go to CVC drug store get money order etc. Put someone on sounding like grandson. All this is bogus and if were true would not have gotten call and request in this manor. Always verify information by directily contacting those referenced in the story. Phoned PD and CHP and reported. Scammers left their number and acutally called back to check if had money order yet.
