Today scammers rang my parents several times, later speaking with me, trying to get us to wire money overseas (to Dominican Republic) as a bond payment for getting my son out of police custody.  The speaker told me his name was Sergeant Christopher Tucker of "Camloops" (sic, his spelling of the place name) Police in British Columbia.  The caller (or his conspirators) impersonated my son on the calls with my parents (but refused to let me "speak" with my son when I demanded this).  Their story about why to send a Western Union transfer to Dominican Republic was quite confusing/convoluted in fact.  I requested to have my son's public defender ring me to verify the story, but never got a call back.  Meantime, I rang Kamloops Police Station in BC and inquired if there was a Sgt Tucker on duty or service there.  They put me through to the RCMP Compliant department, who have have opened this as a Fraud Investigation case.  I have also been in touch with my son, who was out of town, keeping well, but located nowhere near Canada.

this caller said they were my husbands cousin and he was in jail in Canada and needed bail money.  When we didn't respond to the request they called us back stating that they were the police department in Canada. This was all a scam to get money from us.
