received a call at 12:30 am, digital voice said to call back regarding unusal activity on my "account"

Got the call from this number, after reading this board i took it easy and not planning to call back

I already left one of the messages.  My name too starts with an H and I am in Pleasanton.  I don't work.  2 of my friends received this same call.  Their names start with B and Z.  Our only same interest is golf.  Any other golfers out there?

I am not sure what time I got the call, but there was a message on my machine.  It said the same thing- my account has been deactivated because of suspicious activity.  Weird thing is that 2 girls from my work also got the call in the middle of the night.  We all have last names beginning with "h" and live in Pleasanton.  Wondering if there is a pattern.

Deleted a strange incomplete digitized message a few days ago, then received this annoying call - same halting, digitized female voice as reported by others - at 4:30 a.m. Friday morning. It woke us up.

"Your account was suspended due to unusual activity. To solve this problem please call back at our service number: four hundred forty, four hundred forty eight, forty eight, thirty. Please note our service number is four four zero four four eight four eight three zero."

Our number is on the national "Do Not Call" registry. Anyone with a legitimate message would leave an 800 number. Not going to respond.

I'm in P-town, too, and got the call at 1:53 this morning. . . right before the EQ, so I felt it!

Received a call at 5 a.m.  Didn't get the call in time, but they didn't leave a message.  They called back in a few minutes and it was a fax machine sound.  Received a third call around 7:30 a.m. and it was again a fax machine sound.  Anyone experience this?

Received a call at 1:00 am  Does anyone know what this is about?  Who can we call to complain? Did anyone press 1?

Same experience as others.  Our call came at 5:40 am today - caused quite a stir as we *are* Keypoint customers.  We looked into our account to see if it was a real issue, didn't seem to be. I called the CU this morning to ask about it and they told me it was phishing and asked me to report the issue at http://www.ic3.gov/complaint

DOES EVERYONE BELONG TO CREDIT UNION? I CALLED THE NUMBER AND IT WAS A RECORDING WITH THE SAME MESSAGE ABOUT UNUSUAL ACTIVITY.  WOULD REALLY LOVE TO SHUT THESE PEOPLE DOWN.  CALLS AT 3:00AM ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU CAN'T GO BACK TO SLEEP.

Received the same call at 5:02AM this morning. Called back just to be sure and the voice answering is definitely not the high-end system you would expect from a bank. Very likely a Scam...

received same call as above,,poor message re account suspened. Sometimes just calling these numbers can put a large charge on your phone bill,, or so I have been told

Got this same call this morning in Pleasanton. Not sure what scam this would be, but I dialed the number and only got silence on the other end.

Received call 1:06 a.m. this morning.  Woman said call back dialer service number and stated the number twice.

I got a call from this number 3:15 am, femail recorded voice, saying something "suspended due to unusual activity".

Assuming the "mark" list is even originating from known bank account affiliations, the only commonality i have with your list is BofA. I haven't changed anything on that account which would kick off on automated "job complete" email for awhile.

Is today's phone spam event a bay area phenomena? I see santa clara and pleasanton CA mentioned

Called this morning.  Same as others.  Digital female voice with same message.  Looks like they are calling Santa Clara numbers.

Got a while in the shower at 7:42 and the machine picked it up. Same message as the others. I googled the 440 area code says it is Northeast Ohio. I'm not calling it

As noted above, the message I got was only the phone number.
You mentioned Keypoint and a earlier caller mentioned credit union.
I don't kow which of my accounts they had information on. I have Keypoint, Wells Fargo, B of A and others. I rarely use the Keypoint account. I am curious how these guys are getting lists of "marks". My most recent interaction with Keypoint was a recorded message directing me to go online and re-activate my account which I had not accessed in over 180 days. After I changed my password as required, I recieved an email from Keypoint notifying me of the password change. Are these scammers getting my name from the Keypoint phone call or the Keypoint email?

Received the call around 8am, called my Credit union and they didn't block my card and weren't aware of fraudulent phone calls.
Interestingly the phone call stated Keypoint Credit Union as the originator and I am with a different one.
Their fraud departments however work together and did not know about the phone calls nor did they want to investigate this further.

Just received the same message on y answering machine.

I called my credit union they are well aware of the problem and they are working to trace, report and have it shut down.

Call at 6:31AM Start of message was not recorded. Choppy female voice recited phone number twice in two different ways: caller ID doesn't appear to be a real phone number.

7:00 AM answering machine pickup with a message delivered with a digitized female voice similar to others noted here. that is, an unspecified bank account was suspended due to unusual activity.

Received call at 3:41AM. This call was also recorded and "pieced" together - perhaps digitized. Also said something about "unusual activity". Extremely aggravated about being woken. Anyone know more about this?

Received call at 4:44 AM.  A digitized voice told me to call this number because my account at my bank was "suspended due to unusual activity."  Pretty clearly a scam.
