I get calls from them too. They didn't stop until I answered the phone. Maybe they don't stop calling until they reach someone? They told me they sell papers all over the country. We are on the do not call list either, and when I asked how they could call, the girl, Lisa, told me that if I had the paper in the past two years, it makes the number exempt from the dnc list. She said that goes for all businesses. I took the paper, it was the whole summer of the Lorain Journal for $19 and paid on my card, and I haven't had any issues. Paper started when she said it would. After I answered the phone, they stopped calling though!!! And, I asked her to put me on their dnc list, and she said ok, maybe that is why they stopped calling? I dont know. But it seems legit. I got my paper, calls stopped, and even though I was a little nervous to give credit card, I got a bigger discount for paying then, I had no issues with it. Enjoy my paper every morning!

My prefix is for Wyoming and I got the call in Arizona. No one on the line when answered. They must use computer dialing and answer the first one that picks up. Isn't technology great.

Hi everyone,
I did some research on this number, and they are a legitimate and respectable business. What they are doing is, they represent your local newspaper, and are updating their files for customers that haven't had recent delivery service, and are just trying to get you to re-new your subscription to your local newspaper. I am pretty sure that they represent a variety of other companies, so don't worry about anything!

Call came from the Marine Corps Association

This number was on my caller id twice so I called them back and found out that they were calling for my local newspaper to upgrade my service. I'm on the Do Not Call list but the girl that answered very politely explained to me that if you have a current business relationship with a company then they are allowed to call you. She was very polite and after speaking with her I did upgrade my service. Not too often that you find a respectable company like this when telemarketing is involved!

I kept having this number on my caller ID and they never left a message so I called back and it was a contracted service for marketing of my local newspaper. I asked them to take me off their call list and they said they would, so we'll see what happens

I called it and they are a reputiable newspaper telemarketing company. Decent person answered and explained the call. I even bough the paper from them.
They're okay.

said they were from the plain dealer... expanding their coverage area with more local coupons and what not... wanted me to sign up.
Hi 2011-06-06 20:49:17 Unknown
sooooooooo annoying. stop calling me!!!!!! They call EVERY day, and I just don't answer, so they call like 5 times a day! You would think they would give up after a while.

Got a call and I'm in Alaska. WTF! Why would someone in ohio selling newspapers call me? LOL. I read a paper on line, don't NEED to purchase a paper, insurance, or anything they got. Not giving them any info either...so keep calling and I'll sue for harassment. :) I WIN!
Mike 2011-06-06 20:49:17 Unknown
Me too. Never a message.

They wanted me to subscribe to an Ohio newspaper. I find this odd. I live in SE Virginia and don't see the point. Something about this doesn't pass the smell test.

They are a company based in Ohio that does subscriptions for many newspaper companies around the U.S. I called and told them that I am on the Do Not Call list and asked that my number be removed. They were more than happy to remove it from their list and they did so without asking for any other personal information.

We are on No Call Registry. Why are we receiving calls from telemarketers? It plainly said TELEMARKETERS and the number 440 885 2849
Kelley 2011-06-06 20:49:17 Unknown

I got a call today from 440-226-1724. A woman named Amy told me that she works for 3R Newspapers and that she is working from a list of past subscribers given to her by the Plain Dealer. This isn't the first time they've called. Each time they call, I file a complaint on the Do Not Call registry website. I informed Amy of this, and that I do not wish to be call, that I will file a complaint, and that I've always asked for my name to be taken off the list.
Her reply? She told me that since I used to subscribe to the Plain Dealer, they can call me. This is completely untrue. I terminated my business relationship with the Plain Dealer four years ago. They've been trying to get me back ever since, and I am never going to subscribe again. The real culprit here is the Plain Dealer, if it is true that they pass information to the telemarketer. The telemarketers also have an obligation to honor the Do Not Call Registry. They are a pack of scofflaws. Who wants to do business with people who disregard the law, even in small matters?
ikonos 2011-06-06 20:49:17 Unknown
Same here, except the rat bastards are robo-dialing as they called my business cell number.

It's the Cleveland Plain Dealer. I've told them once I already get the paper and they keep calling anyways.

This number called us repeatedly last year trying to get us to renew our subscription to the Lebanon Democrat. I no longer have a relationship with the newspaper and have asked them to stop calling. I was assured I would be removed from the calling list. And yet again they are calling over and over. I reminded them I am on the Do Not Call Registry and was assured I would be removed from the call list. We shall see.
