Yeah, def a scam.  I got the call on 2/19 and it's a fluke.  NO ONE ANSWER THIS CALL!!!!

I use Verizon and I just got a phone call from [No Name] 442-074-516426, but didn't answer.  I did a Google search, figuring it was a scam or telemarketer and came upon this board.

There is a proposed area code 442 for California to take effect in May 2008.

The message I heard 2/20 didn't mention warranty just my "account."  We've also gotten the call at home and have hung up.

And our home and my cell phoone are both on the No Call Lists.

Received a call from this number Tuesday 2/19/2008 at 8:00pm pst.  Didn't answer and didn't leave message.  I haven't bought anything on ebay recently but i purchase things online a lot...how annoying!  never answer a number u dont recognize. not on verizon either.

I did not answer because I knew it was an International number and there are third party phone scams out there. I don't want to be charged for any call I did not make or from a number I do not know. They did not leave a message either.
I don't use Verizon and I am in the Northeast. I have never had a warranty on a vehicle nor have I ever had a new car.
They're a bunch of scammers, that's it.

I got a call from this number last night without realizing it til I looked at my cell phone just now.

These seem to be all cell phone numbers that are being called. Out of curiosity, is anyone else using Verizon?

Got the call on my cell phone at 8:48 PM Mtn time, but since I didn't recognize it, I hit "ignore".  I don't have VM on my cell, so they went to the ether.  Also got a mailer about a car warranty expiring.  Since my car is too old for any warranty, I ignored it too.

I got a call from this number on my cell on Feb 19 at 8:42 pm, MST.
Automated message stating "Your auto warranty is about to expire,
press 1 to speak to a representative, or press 2 to remove yourself
from the list."
I presed 1 and a guy came on saying he was Jason. When I talked to the guy he quickly asked me for my year make and model of my car, I said it was a 1978 Eldorado and he hung up.  Maybe they don't insure Cadiliac's.  LOL.

I got a call from this number on my cell on Feb 19 at 8:38 pm. I was not near my phone, but when I looked at the number, it had too many numbers. I Googled this number and came up to this website.  Glad I did, and I will be on the lookout for this number from now on.

I missed a call from this number on my cell phone at 8:27 pm PST on Tuesday 02/29/08.  I haven't given this number out much, maybe to Hertz, United Airlines and Expedia while I was traveling.  Those are the only lists I could be on that could have been sold.  I definitely did not give it to Ebay as some others have mention doing.  Maybe it is just dialing random numbers.  I was 8 feet from my phone.  I do not think it rang, weird.

I got a call from the same number at 11:36pm eastern time (although my phone has an oregon number so the caller probably didn't realize it was that late) and since I didn't recognize the number I didn't answer. No message was left.

This number also called me about a month ago and it was the same deal (although a slightly different number +442074367245)...late at night, I didn't answer, they didn't leave a voice mail.

I don't have a car, not do I have anything for sale online. I have no idea how or why my number would be called.

Just got the call, didn't answer, never seen it before. Live in LA, could they have got it from skype?

Got a call from this number at 8:38pm MST.  I ignored the call and received a voice mail immediately there after.  The recording was the end of an automated message that said "press 1 to speak to a representative, and press pound to disconnect."

Just got this call and thought - wow that is strange #. I have things listed on Craigslist here and figured it was a scam. None of our vehicles have warranties and they called an unlisted cell #. No message but called at 8:30pm on Feb. 19, 2008. I have recently purchased something off ebay using my CC. I will have to wath real close.

Same thing - call came in refused to answer - I do have an extended warranty expiring in about a month.  Maybe it started legit - but from the posts here I'm guessing it's not going to end that way.

I got a call from +44-207-422-2408 at 8:03 PM on Feb 19, 2008 about my car warranty expiring. I got an automatted message to press 1 to speack to a person or to press2 to hang up. All of my cars are 2nd hand and almost 20 years old, so there is no waranty.

They called me on my cell on Feb 19 at 8:38 MST. I heard that some incoming international calls can charge your account $10 a minute so I am really cautious with those kind of calls and didn't answer. No message on voice.

same number and same thing.  They did not leave a msg.

I suspect this is some seller from eBay who has sold CC information for "warranties" - a cellphone in my case.

got a call from this number saying the stuff about a car warranty expiring.  when i talked to the guy he quickly asked me for my year make and model of my car, i said "i don't have a warranty on my car, why am i getting called?" he then said "thats not what i asked, whats the year make and model of your car?" i told him the same thing again.  then he said "well enjoy the next call," and hung up.
+442074222408 i'm guessing that +44 is a country code for int'l calls. i looked up +44 and the country is the UK, which is weird cuz the guy didnt have an accent.

Hi, I wrote earlier.  Just wanted to respond to Same Deal's question.  I haven't purchased a car in years.  I also live in central Virginia.  So there don't seem to be any patterns as far as those are concerned.

I couldn't hear the automated msg, so I went to an operator and asked him what this was about, and he hung up... very weird. def a scam

out of curiousity did you guys purchase a car recently? i live in the central new york area, maybe we can find a pattern?
