This guy was on the Helena Montana craigslist trying to buy my Harley. His email address for this transaction is: jason.cotwell143@gmail.com. This was the line in the reply that got me curious "What is the lowest price you are willing to let it out?"

Claims to be an Oceanographer, wants to buy my RV, is very insistent trying to get my Paypal address.
He uses kingdavid009@gmail.com on paypal.
We are reporting him to paypal.
(took 3 days to get HIS paypal email but we finally did)

Yea, We're having trouble with this guy on Craigslist too. Claims to be KingDavid009 on paypal and is insistently trying to get our paypal address to allegedly buy an RV with cash.
We are reporting him to paypal but doubt that will stop him from continuing his B.S. Oh, claims to be an oceanographer and wants to buy the RV for his son for birthday
He must be getting away with some of it because I see this thread started in 2012... It is now August 2013

I got the same kind of SMS for my Car sell on Craigslist. I want to give a gift to my son for birthday. I work overseas so I can't come to see your car. I will pay full price through PayPal.

It looks Scam to me so I Google the number and find this. Thanks guys for sharing your experience and here I am adding my experience too.

Texted me about my bedroom set for sale on Craigslist.  Said he was overseas, a marine engineer in the Navy, and wanted to urgently purchase my bedroom set for $2500 as a gift for his son's birthday.  Wanted to pay via Paypal and was requesting my Paypal email address to send payment.  Red flags all over this one, BEWARE!

Here's a transcription of the text:

4432725340:  Hello Seller, is the (Complete Queen Bedroom Set with Tempurpedic Mattress Set - $2500 (City withheld) still available for sale. Regards.

Me:  Yes.

4432725340:  I'm interested in buying this for my son and I think that this is a fair asking price.  Currently I am at sea right now (I am a marine engineer for the navy) but I really want this as a surprise birthday gift for my Son. I do not want to let him know anything about this until it gets delivered to him. First, I do have some basic questions. I would like to know why you are selling this item.

Me:  Does it matter why?  I no longer need the bedroom set - Downsizing.

4432725340:  Alright that sounds good i want you to know that am buying this for my son as a matter of urgent as a birthday gift and am currently offshore and there is no way for me to meet up with you and pay you cash so that is why i decided to pay you through Paypal because my bank account as been attached to it so i will want you to get back to me with your paypal email address so for the payment

Me:  Cash or no deal.  By the way, I googled your number and this is a scam.  Do not contact me again.  I will be reporting you.

I received a text from this same number wanting to buy a camper we are selling on craigslist.  Has never seen pics or anything but wanted to buy for his son birthday as a surprise.  He wanted my paypal to request money, so I told him to send me his email and I would send a request.
There scam is they send more money than you are asking but want you to go to western union and wire the 1100.00 for example to his pick up agent.
I told him do not send more than I am asking for I will not be going to Western Union.  Never heard anymore from him. I have 3 of these text from different numbers same thing.
SCAM SCAM!!!

Have a truck for sale on CL in Delaware and have been getting text from this # this evening.  Says he wants to buy the truck for his son as a surprise but he's in the Navy and at sea at the moment, doesn't want him to know anything about it.  What a bunch of bull!

I got a tex message, not a call, from someone trying to get my paypal account to send me a payment for something I was trying to sell on craigslist. I knew it was a scam, because I got a tex yesterday that was almost the same message, but from a different number. These people need to be stopped because they are going to get someone to give them their personal information, because they wont realize it is a scam and they will get ripped off.

Thats what I was thinking. I was hoping not so i could get money for our family vacation but DANG IT! Im going to my local authorities and t.v. channel. This has to come to a stop

I though it was another scammer. I was almost scammed twice in one day. Once yesterday about my wedding dress and then at 430 a.m. this morning. Boy, these people hitting hard nowadays. Cant dupe me nomore. I aint dumb. Neener neener neener! GAME OVER! Im fixing to contact authorities. Please watch our language? Why dont someone report these idiots, like some do when we use foul language huh?
