I listed a piece of farm equipment on kijiji in canada yesterday and received a text message from this guy asking if it was still available. Thought it strange someone from maryland would be contacting canada for farm equipment. Thanks for the heads up.

Knew it was a scam!! He was texting to ask about a horse I listed on Craig's List and kept saying "the item"....the condition of "the item", etc. Not "the horse". Let him know "local sales only".
Would like to stop this guy!!! Same story as above "marine engineer for the navy" and wants to surprise his son.

wow, i can't believe all these posts!! i got the same guy today scamming me for something expensive i'm selling on craigslist. i kept saying local pickup with cash and he's giving me the same story of how he's at sea and wants me to do a paypal thing. all with text messages. no go, dude! how do we report him???

I got a text message from him saying he wanted to buy a boat for his son and he was out of the country on an assignment. He told me to send him $900 via western union then he would give me the transaction id thru paypal he needed to send me additional funds so he could have someone pick up the boat and then he would give me the money for the boat.

Yea. This guy told me he was in the navey and said that he was wanting to get the item for his sons birthday and wanted my paypal info to send payment. As soon as I asked him his name so i would know who to be expecting paymen from he did not text me back.
