got a call from this number.  the hispanic fellow "Larry" or whatever his name was, wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise about my not purchasing hydrocodone from overseas.  he proceeded to tell me how much trouble i was in, and then got all pissed off and hung up on me.  he called back, and then had one of his counterparts call me from 202-241-8157.  this guy said DEA agents would be at my house in the morning, with a warrant to arrest me.

Funny, since i never bought any medication from over seas.  i have a criminal record from 15 years ago, and have been clean ever since.  The first guy kept going on about how I didn't want to mess up my clean record.  Real DEA would know all about my record, and I'm sure would show up unannounced.

I could see how someone in my situation would get nervous, and buy in to the next part of their scam.  which from what i've read, is to try to extort money from me in order to drop the charges.

I received a call from this number today. After a recent divorce, medical problems, losing my house to foreclosure, the last thing I needed this morning was this phone call. Cruel. My poor fiance almost had a heart attack.

I wish someone would agree to buy some meds and have them delivered C.O.D. to the police dept's address. Seriously, my finance could have had a heart attack because of this. This is just the lowest of the low.

OMG... DMar, Your ordeal was worst than mine. The nerve of him faxing you a subpoena. And, you having to go personally to this agencies wasting your time. Just because of this idiot. I hope he gets what he deserves. Which is eternity in a hell worst than the one he has put us through. And, I hope he gets there really soon.

This SAME guy began calling me two weeks ago with the same confiscated medication order, blah blah.  I told him to fax me the supoena; and he did.  However, it did not look remotely like a court order.  I called a friend from high school who works for the US District Attorney.  Nope, didn't come from her office.  Walked it across the street from work to the INS office (a friend works there) and he walked me to the local FBI office.  This guy is using a Magic Jack and they can not catch him unless money is actually sent.  So all is bogus.  I just collect the info and have a stack now.  He said the US Marshall would be at my work to arrest me.  I let him know I would be at work until 4pm then called the US Marshall.
Bottom line....niether the US Marshall, the DEA, the FBI or INS will contact you - they just come and get you.

Holly, after this idiot turned my world upside down, I called the DEA in Miami. The REAL agent I spoke with said " You are the 4th person calling us today about this guy. we can not catch him because of the type of phone he is using".

He called me and identified himself as Agent Michael Giardino DEA. He knew my name and address. What we need to do is go after the online companies that sold our information.

I was expecting a package on Feb.2nd. The item was delivered to my home by FED X at 11:33am. When I got home at 3pm  there was no package. I called all the people I needed to call did what I had to do.
THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART!
A man called me today. He identified himself as agent Michael Giardino from the DEA, phone # 443-288-3117. He asked "Are you missing a package?" I said yes. "what were the contents of the package?" I answer a Tablet. He said US customs intercepted a package for me coming from the Dominican Republic, containing illegal pills (without prescription). I said I did not order any pills! He started yelling at me " you just admitted you were missing a package containing tablets". I tried to explain, that a Tablet was an electronic device and I ordered it from ShopNBC. THE DUDE HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME!!!!!
Then he called back 2 minutes later saying " we both could not talk at the same time. the DEA is suing me for $25,000.00 and my court date is next week. DEA agents will be in your home within 2 hours. You could pursue this in court, but it would be very expensive for you to get a Federal lawyer to represent you". I was telling him I had not order any pills and that I had problems in the past were an online pharmacy tried to charge $300. to my acct. The so called agent started yelling at me AGAIN. " It doesn't matter what you say the DEA has  proof that you ordered the pills and are ready to prosecute!" When I tried to speak he hung up on me again.
I was going out of my mind.
Agent Giardino called again 3 minutes later. "This is what I can do for you since you have a clean record and I am sure you want to keep it that way. I will talk to the agent in charge of your case and maybe they will go easy on you. And you only have to pay a fine. Cause when you show up to court there will be media there taking your picture. You don't want to put your family and friends through that embarrassment of seeing you on the news".
I asked how much was the fine. "$1500.00". I said "you know what give me the case # and phone # of who ever I have to call, because I have to look into this". "You're taking this to court?" "Yes, Yes I am  because I did not do this why should I pay!" HE HUNG UP THE PHONE AGAIN (that's 3 times already).
He calls back again. " Are you sure you want to take this to court? It is going to cost you a bunch of money You know that!" I replied " I don't care!!! Just give me the case #". As the agent is giving me the case # the connection gets very staticky and I can hardly understand him. when I asked him to please call me from another line. Guess what he did HE HUNG UP ON ME, AGAIN!

I was going out of my mind, my legs were shaking I could hardly talk or breath. I ran to the computer googled his number. It's in Baltimore. I called the DEA in Baltimore. It was a wrong number. I could barely see but after 3 tries I got the number for the DEA in Miami. I told them of the agent who called me and the whole conversation. They said I was the 4th. person calling them today about that. " This Michael Giardino is running a scam. And a lot of people fall for it. Pass on the information to neighbors, family, friends everybody so they wont fall for this".
All the information I had, they had. The DEA can't catch him because it looks like he is using a disposable phone.

You know, if he would have asked for $50 or $100 I think I would of paid it. Just to make it go away. But $1500.00. I don't have that kind of money!

Check everything and everyone before paying a cent. If you don't know the person or company check them out through The Better Buss. Bureau.

Prank Call
I just got this call a few minutes ago, from a guy claiming to be with the DEA, saying his name was "David Morales" - he could not even pronounce his own name correctly, and I am fairly fluent in Spanish. He was almost unintelligible on the phone, but I got him to stay on the line long enough to get his phone number off of my Caller ID and will be reporting him to the Do Not Call Registry.

He finally hung up on ME because I kept asking him to repeat what he was asking me. Good riddance!

I think it has already been said but this number and person wanted to extort $1,000.00 by sending it via Western Union.
Yes this f...say he was with the DEA and I have gotten simular calls. I have the ability to set-up automatic redia so this number has received over 300 calls from me as of this writing.
I did speak with some a.. h...earlier and he told him to give me his address so I can send him a check.
He said the DEA only accepts Money Orders.....Can anyone believe this moron can use a "Magic Jack" and try to extort money from people?
Told him he was a funny man and to go take a Flying F....  Said he was coming to get me.
Well.....told him to bring it on cause have a Remington shot gun waiting for him.
END RESULT IS THAT IT JUST A CHEAP SCAM WHICH I HAVE REPORTED TO THE REAL DEA AGENTS...

This jerk called my house yesterday and today - same old thing as other callers "David Morel from DEA"...but I asked for his badge number and asked for a supervisor and that's when he got angry "how dare I not want to talk with him, he is "in charge of this investigation"...he will call DC and get me" blah blah...but I called his bluff and called the REAL DEA, and had an agent from my hometown DEA office call the guy back and give him an earful about the laws HE is breaking...the REAL DEA agent let me know it was a scam and to ignore his calls, and if accidently picked up, just hang up.  Obviously this guy gives away his scam with his pushy and aggressive RUDE ways...he is more of an idiot than he even knows!  Stupid man - hope he gets put in jail for doing this crap to people.  He had me upset for a FEW minutes, wasted my morning on the calls.  Thankfully, the REAL DEA agents are professionals and helped me with this today.  So to those that are REAL DEA agents - THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP TODAY  getting to this imposter!

I received a call from 443-288-3117 (MD) on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 3:40pm.  The guy left a VM which states (with a Latino accent: I'm Puertorican, so I can clearly recognize the Latin accent): "Hello, this is David Morel (?) from the Drug Enforcement Agency, I need to speak to [my name].  This in regards to an investigation.  You need to call us at 443 288 3117.  Thank You."

I think I know how the scam works...

The calls are always proceded by a man calling and telling people that they can buy prescription drugs with him..

I'm sure some people DO order from this guy and THINK that the drugs are being sent.

This FAKE D.E.A. Agent then calls and tells you that the "package was intercepted" and your "under investigation!'

They KNOW that people feel guilty and won't call the police about being EXTORTED...

So they "scare the sh-t" out of some people and get them to send money to "stop the investigation!"

It's a CRUEL thing to do to people, but as we ALL know there are very EVIL people in this world and these people are some of them...

AGAIN, just tell them "under advice of my Attorney I will NOT talk to you about ANYTHING and HANG UP!"

They will STOP when they realize that you CAN'T be taken for a FOOL!!!!!!!

People need to understand the Law, such as,

#1) If a person calls you telling you that their a Law Enforcement Officer. You are under NO legal obligation to talk to them...Even if it is REALLY a L.E. Officer...

#2) If they tell you that your "under investigation" than tell them that "your envoking your 5th Amendment RIGHT "to remain silent" and HANG UP...They CANNOT hold you not talking to them against you...

#3) A real L.E. Officer WOULD NOT be rude such as this guy and they would NOT "tip you off" that your "under investigation!" They would work the case and IF they had PROBABLE CAUSE to arrest you than they would just do it...

#4) The LONGER you let HIM talk the more he is able to "intimidate you", so just tell him that your not talking to him and HANG UP...A real L.E. Officer could be "sued and fired" for using "Extortion Tactics" like this guy, which is the CLEAR indicator that he is a FRUAD...

#5) So when this guy calls, just tell him, that under the "advice of my Attorney, I am NOT talking to you and HANG UP!"

So RELAX people as this guy WILL leave you alone when he realizes that you KNOW your rights...!!! Even if you DID order drugs over the Internet. You STILL have RIGHTS and the number ONE right is to "REMAIN SILENT!" Do NOT admit to ANYTHING...!!!

REMEMBER, it is L.E. that has the BURDEN to PROVE that your guilty. And with the MILLIONS of people ordering drugs over the internet. I doubt the the D.E.A. has the time to go after the buyers. THEY want to BIG FISH and that is the people SELLING drugs over the Internet...

Remember, BE STRONG and HANG UP on ANYBODY telling you that "your under investigation!"  As 99.999% of the time, it is a SCAM...!!!

This piece of sh-t called and yesterday on my machine telling me that he's from the "D.E.A. and I'm under investigation!' I called him this morning and he said that "a package of prescription medication with my name and address was intercepted a month ago!" He was VERY rude and told me that "I have to prove that I'm innocent to the D.E.A.!"

I told him, I didn't order anything and I don't know what he was talking about. I then told him that the D.E.A. has to PROVE that I did something wrong... I then told him to come and arrest me and my Attorney will do my talking for me...

He became ANGRY and hung up.....And didn't call me back...

People just need to "call his bluff" and just tell him to go ahead and "bring on your arrest warrant!' And also tell him that your not talking to ANYONE over the phone and you'll have your Attorney handle it...He'll realize that your NOT A FOOL and hang up and move on to another person that he CAN scam...

This guy has been doing this for a long time and he NEEDS to be arrested for "Impersonating a Federal Agent and Extortion....!!!!""

I honestly hope he calls back, as I really enjoyed hearing his frustration that I was a person that he COULD NOT FOOL...!!!

So PLEASE people, DON'T listen to a word he say's, as he is nothing but a "Con Artist"! My suggestion is to just "laugh at him and tell him and hang up!"

OK, this guy called me twice telling me that I had a warrant for my arrest and I better call him back right away!  He is the DEA and wants to talk to me about "medication".  So I called him back, got a answering machine with a female voice "You have reached the D E Enforcement Agency, please leave a message".  Duh, it's Drug Enforcement Agency, not DE Enforcement, losers don't even know their own scam.  So, I call them again, and again, and again, (using *67 to block my number), he finally gets mad, says "This is Larry, why are you calling me and not saying anything?"  So I hang up again and call back and again and again. . .just to shake it up a bit I left a few messages when they stopped picking up.  Hope good ol' Michelle doesn't get upset when I left a message for Larry saying I'm pregnant and when is he gonna tell her about us?

I know I sound awful but these people are scum!  Hope I fill up the answering machine. . .

I should add- about 6 months ago my home was burglarized and trashed the day before we were foreclosed on. They took everything. When we moved into this rental we kept the same telephone number. Soon after that I began getting messages on my answering machine telling me that my RXs 'were ready', by someone with a heavy accent. Since I had not ordered anything, have no insurance and have not been able to afford my RXs for over 4 years now I ignored them. I'm guessing whoever trashed our house used my medical records and/or empty RX bottles to try to order drugs or else sold my info to some shady company.

I got a call from this joker too.  He called twice while I was showering...  When I checked messages, I listened to our man with "crackly" reception.  Said he was DEA working on a case, yes I have had a lot of these type of calls since I did use an online pharmacy so clearly my contact info was sold....  In any case,  I blocked my phone number and called back, some lethargic lady answered; "DEA how may I direct your call?"
I responded with do you have an agent "Mike Giardino" working out of this site?  Lady said who is calling?  This is of no concern to you but I'd like to warn you that I have made a formal and technical complaint to the FCC regarding you and your companion using a call list to scare and potentially extort from people while impersonating a Federal agent.  Your "Magic Jack" has forwarded the IP address from the ISP and has Identified your location as well as identity of account holder so please be advised you are now on the receiving end of your intentions however this is very much a reality.
Good luck with all of it

This is the voicemail I received...

"This is Michael Giardino from the DEA - Drug Enforcement Agency wishing to speak to a [insert first/last name] about an investigation. Please call us back immediately at 443-288-3117. Thank you."

443-288-3117 is a LANDLINE number in Ellicott City, Maryland (NEAR, but not actually IN the Baltimore metro area where the field office is located).  The following is the REAL Baltimore District Office address and phone number...

Baltimore District Office
200 St. Paul Plaza, Suite 2222
Baltimore, Maryland 21202
(410) 962-4800

The real DEA would never call your home. Rather, they would coordinate with local police and other authorities to reach you. Furthermore, a DEA agent would not call FROM his/her residence either (in regard to the possibility that the agent's residence was in Ellicott City, MD).
