How is it that you "spoof" a telephone number? Can anyone explain?

Constantly calling while number is on the DO NOT CALL list

THIS IS FRAUD MOST LIKELY OUT SIDE OF USA SCAMMING UNEXPECTING PEOPLE INTO GIVING UP PERSONAL INFO ABOUT THEMSELVES BE AWARE IF SOME ONE CALLS YOU TO SAY THEY ARE A BANK OR LENDING INSTITUTION ALWAYS ASK FOR THERE CONTACT INFORMATION PHONE NUMBER NAME AND EXTENTION IT'S ALOT SAFER TO CALL THEM BACK .     COVER YOUR BUTT

Received a call from this number, no caller ID.  Computer recording from 'Credit Card Services'.  Ended call and blocked number.

received a call on my cell phone and they did not leave a message. The call came in as a Maryland number.

If they don't identify themselves, I don't bother to answer.  Had enough of these creeps.

Phone solicitors. I am on the do not call list. Can't talk with a real person and ask them to stop calling because they hang up. When I call back I am being told it's a non-working number.

It was that well-known skankosaur, Rachel from CardServices.  The number came up as Federalsburg, MD.

Extremely rude and persistent. They roll your telephone number all over the country including Canada. They have been harassing me for 3 years!!! I keep blocking their calls but they never give up. I answered the first time they called & man was very rude and offensive, I asked to be removed from list & he stated that was not possible that my number came from some roll over system?? I will have to bite the bullet and get my number changed as they will NEVER stop calling. I contacted the FCC, they told me that I would have to hire a private attorney & if I win in court this "scam company" would have to pay $1,500.00 per call, IF I won & IF I could collect on the judgement & I'd still have to pay an attorney. Go figure!!?? what good is the FCC if they don't take a stand on this, all the tax payer dollars they get & we get nothing in return! It is disgusting.

Same ... They called me, I didn't know the number so I rejected it. They called a second time.. no voice mail either time. I called back and its not a working number. ...

Received a call it said from customer services regarding my credit card. (I have none). I pushed one to speak to someone and asked to be removed. Hd told me to shut up!  I was so stunned I asked him what he said and he just tried to stay quiet but I could hear him snickering. I asked him to repeat it one last time and then basically told him I didn't think he had the b*lls to repeat it.

Received a call from this number and did not recognize so let it got to VM.  No VM left, returned the call and recording stated "you have reached a non-working number."

is there any way to stop these calls. I get them daily.

Received a phone call from this number on my cell phone.  It is a call about lowering credit card rates.  Hung up then called the number back and go this message.  You have reached a number that is no longer in service please check the number and try your call again.  Wish these calls would stop!

If you answer, you validate your phone number. I never answer if I don't recognize the number. DNC doesn't work.

Received call, no message. Three rings and stopped.

called them back and got "the number you have reached is not in service." jerks

This was an unsolicited phone call for credit consolidation. I pressed "1" to speak with a representative to have my name removed from their call list (as I am already on the national no call list), and the representative abruptly hung up on me.

Keep calling. Finally I blocked number on my i-phone. no more calls!!

Just called me too, I hit ignore, and then they called right back again. Did not answer.

Got a call from them. I did not pick up.
