I got this call today. The name left was Martin vanPelt. I had talked to the local sheriff's department a while ago about this, they actually recommended against it! They get a VERY small percentage of the sales, it is better to donate directly.

Fund raising by selling bogus ads in Sheriff magazine. Don't waste your time calling back. In their voicemail message that made it sound like it was important, and asked for me by name. All they left was the name Kevin Alpert and the number no details were given.
