Keep receiving calls from this company demanding payment of an internet loan.  They will not provide any info regarding date of loan or any other details.  Apparently if I don't pay almost 3 times the amount of the loan now, I will be arrested and put in jail immediately for fraud.

Debt Collector
I too had a similar experience, the guy identified himself as Mark Melfoy and then he transferred me to someone else (who sounded exactly the same).  He said I had a pending unpaid payday loan and needed to pay almost 3 times as much immediately to avoid legal charges (they even give you a case #)  I thought maybe I did owe this, so stupidly gave them info about me.  Now they won't leave my alone. I misplaced the checkcard info I gave them, so the card is canceled.  They won't provide a mailing address for money orders or any documentation supporting the debt.  Now they just tell me that I will be arrested within 3 days for bank fraud.  I wish I had read these messages first.

Phony Collectors Scam Consumers

The BBB says the scammers already have lot of personal information about the people they call, so much so, there may be a data security breach somewhere. Scammers may have access to thousands of people's identities, especially those who have used payday loan services.

Phony debt collectors have been trying to scam people across the country by scaring them out of their money.

The Better Business Bureau says the caller claims to be a lawyer with the Financial Accountability Association or the Federal Legislation of Unsecured Loans. They tell you that you have defaulted on a pay day loan, and you will be arrested if you don't pay up immediately.
The BBB says the caller demands you wire a thousand dollars or provide bank account or credit card information. However, officials say this is a scam.

It is a common fraud; do not fall for it.

Guys like "Joshua Watson" call people and say they are collecting a debt. Since most people owe at least 1 debt, they think "Joshua" is legit. Then he tries to harass, bully and embarrass you into paying. He will never give you his mailing address.

The good news is once he realizes you are not going to pay, he moves on to his next potential victim.

I had a similar experience, the guy identified himself as Mark Melfoy (I think, his accent was so thick Indian that I could barely understand him). Anyway, I asked for someone who could explain some bogus bank fraud charge in better, clearer, English. I was transferred to another man who spoke English just as bad as the first guy. I asked him to spell my name and he got my last name wrong. Anyway, I said I was going to call the police on him and he quickly said he would enter something that would have the police pick me up within three days. Please don't fall for these types of calls. Don't try to dial the number they give you. Don't give out a scrap of info to them. I just wish it was easier to track them down.

A Joshua Watson called me at work and I am pretty sure he is in India. He was very rude and insistant about taking down his name and number. He also said it was a very Urgent matter.
