When I picked up this morning the woman said she was calling to "thank the community for supporting such-and-such charity." When I said I didn't remember supporting it, she said, "I didn't say you supported it. Have a great day." and hung up. They are somehow using this charity thing to dodge the do-not-call registry. I have alerted Sen. Mikulski and asked that someone get them to stop.

Yeah, I did a background on the is phone number--it is actually from a house in North Beach, Maryland.
The land line that it uses is via a VOiP line owned by Nationsline, Inc.
I've filed a complaint against Nationsline with the Maryland Consumer office AND the U.S. Attorney
in my hometown.
Nationsline has had all kinds of problems with the FCC, bankruptcy, etc.
Also I've sent a complaint to the landline provider which is:  Cavalier Telephone/Mid Atlantic LLC.

Everyday I receive a unknown phone.  Sometimes Its multiple times a day.  If I speak to someone and tell them to stop calling...they hang up and then start up again the following day.  Its become routine.

this number calls me with an automated voice asking for someone whose last name is similar to mine but whom i've never heard of. even when i press the number for "this person is not at this number" i continue to get calls from this number. it's been going on for months.

got call today - Sept 29 - all that was left onmy answering service was "cannot be reached at this number" which is a really weird mesage.

The calls started today. It comes up on caller ID as AACC. I have yet to speak to anyone as they hang up after 3 rings and I can't make it to the phone in time.

I'll just ignore them and see if they stop. At least I hope they stop.

We just moved into a new apartment with new phone number and I am getting daily calls from them asking for someone I don't know. I pressed the this person doesn't live his extension several times and today I finally pressed the 1 this is the person they are asking for and got a lady on the line. I told her that person doesn't live her and if they are continue to call I am going to file a harassment case. We will see if this works.

For everybody that has been receiving calls from this phone number, it's Asset Acceptance.  They are a debt collection company.  They will not go away and they are exempt from the do not call list.  As long as you or somebody that use to own that number has a debt, they can call and call and call.  I have received calls from them.  I finally called them back and told them not to call anymore and to only send me letters.  I will see if this works.  If the phone rings one more time, then I am going to start filing complaints with the FCC.  For the people that are being called and asked for someone that they don't know, call them back and tell them that the person that they are looking for doesn't live there and if they continue to call you are going to file a complaint with the FCC.  You will never win with these guys by buring your head in the sand.  You need to stand up and take action.  You need to let them know that you won't be bullied on the phone and them maybe they will leave you alone.  This is a ridiculous practice that these companies are doing.  Buying bad debt and then trying to collect on something that is no longer valid.  I hope they all go out of business because of the lack of business.

They keep callin at least 10 times a month. I am on the no call list. Does the list really work?

This number keeps calling me, but when I answer it is a pre recorded message that says if I continue to listen then I am accepting to whom they are asking to speak with, it's a name that is very similar to mine but with differences. They keep calling and sometimes several times of the day, this is very annoying especially late at night I am on the do not call list yet still getting these annoying calls, someone please help!!
