Q  Why would someone be so IDIOTIC as to call those who ALREADY have alarm systems?  (not to mention ones 1000x better than ADT's)?  When we got our's, we checked out ADT and all the others and went with a small-timer private dude who knew his stuff (also 'cause he was a client of my husband who really CARED and wasn't just there to rip us off).  The others would NOT have protected anything but the main front door - Whoopee - ADT - a lot of good that would've done when someone took a glass cutter to our big glass window and pulled off the circle with a suction cup (to avoid making noise), (or, just threw a hammer threw it not caring); or pulled the sliding doors off of their tracks; or any of the other less-common and even crappier ways we have protected that I'm not saying in case those kind of people could read this & get ideas as he protected them for us, but not everyone else does. We're on the do not call list for a reason - LMTFA!  ("Leave Me Alone" for abbreviated version).

I received an unsolicited call from 443-573-5188.  My home phone transfers to my cell if I don't answer in three 'rings'. The robo-dialers that telemarketers use 'see' the slight difference in end-of-one-ring to beginning-of-next-ring as an answering machine coming online and they quickly disconnect.  However this disconnect is not done quickly enough.  The transfer from home to cell is quick enough that I receive usually one and seldom more than two rings on my cell.  No message have ever been left.  I too am on the Do Not Call Registry.  I receive perhaps forty such calls each month.  Supposedly there are organizations that are exempt and need not follow the Do Not Call listed numbers. When such exempt organization start paying my phone bills I will permit one hundred phone calls per month.  Until someone starts paying my phone bill ... when my phone rings it had better be someone that I really want to speak with.

It used to be that cell phones could not be 'Do Not Call' listed.  Now cell phones can be Do Not Call listed.  It can take up to 31 days from when you enter your phone numbers into the database before the calls lessen.

I actually tried calling back, and a recorded voice said the number is not in service, so this is a scamming phone bank used by people who don't bother to check the national DO NOT CALL list and who wish to hide their tracks.  The number of calls from these losers has become so high that I've started reporting them and blocking them if they call more than once.

This is a scam, they are not associated with ADT. I reported the number to ADT, not sure if it does any good.

This appears to be the typical telemarketer call. The called my home number today and did not bother to check that my number is in the national 'Do Not Call List". The first one is a freebie but if they call again, they will go on report as violating the list!  Enough of this stupidity of ignoring the do not call list.

They just called saying we had won a new security system from ADT after my husband told them we had no security system installed (we do - she's a Rottweiler...). They said they were transferring us to someone who would provide details, but hung up instead.

Scammers using SixTel LLC service. My caller was claiming to sell ADT service.  I have never had any association with ADT, and they had the wrong name. Common Criminals!

Tyrone called to sell me an alarm system-ADT.  Hung up when we told him we were pleased with our current wireless/monitored system. A previous owner had ADT they must look up current owners numbers for upgrades.

They asked for someone I never heard of, then started a sales spiel for ADT home security.  Hung up on them.

It is not obvious to me that there is a scam. Sixtell is a call center offering services to other companies. They may have been hired to make outbound calls. Although annoying, it doesn't mean it is a scam. Just hearing a woman saying goodbye could also be the result of differnet technologies working together, such as call center outbound dialers and Voice over IP. My telephone hangs up on cell phone users trying to leave a message! Relax and screen your calls. :)

Message left at my residence from 443-573-5188.  A gentleman by the name of David left the message asking that I return his call to 443-573-5188. He said I had registered somewhere in the last 18 months to win a new car.  This is 100% untrue.  I did not register anywhere to win a vehicle. I did not return the call.

When answered there was a pause, the caller asked for me, I asked who was calling and was told ADT. I asked for an address and they hung up.
