   Well, I took the advice to file a complaint with the State of Oregon after receiving many calls at my place of business from Oregon area code linked to CallerID4U. The response back from them was underwhelming, to say the least. I don?t believe for ONE MINUTE that contacting CallerID4U will stop the problem. Cop out by the State of Oregon, if you ask me. Here is the reply:
   This is in response to the complaint you filed with the Oregon Public Utility Commission (PUC) regarding unwanted telemarketing calls from CallerID4U that appear to originate in Oregon.
   The PUC is aware of the calls consumers across the country are receiving even though their numbers are on the National Do Not Call Registry. The calls are unwanted solicitation phone calls that appear to be originating from Oregon area codes (503, 541, 971, and 458). These calls are not originating within Oregon; they are coming from telemarketers who are customers of CallerID4U, a company that provides caller ID numbers for telemarketers.
   CallerID4U advises that they are not making the unwanted telemarketing calls; they say it is their customers or customers of their customers who are making the calls. CallerID4U says that people who have received an unwanted telemarketing call may simply call the number back and ask to be removed from the call list of the telemarketer who called. Others who have filed complaints against CallerID4U have reported they tried this, to no avail.
   CallerID4U has provided the following directions to report issues with removing your number from the telemarketers list:
   Call 1(360) 322-6102 and follow the prompts by entering: the caller ID number on your phone and the number you wish to have removed from the telemarketing list.
   CallerID4U will automatically forward your request to the telemarketer within 24 hours and the telemarketer should take about 72 hours to process your request. The telemarketer is the only one who can remove you from the calling list. CallerID4U will not use your number for any other purpose than this and will not pass it on to any other customers.
   If this procedure does not work, please send an email to complaints@callerid4u.com.
   The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) have been looking into ways to help consumers regarding these calls. The FTC operates the National Do Not Call Registry, so you should file a complaint with them at 1-877-382-4357 (www.ftc.gov), with the FCC at 1-888-225-5322 (www.fcc.gov), and with your own state Department of Justice.

   (206) xxx-xxxx on 6/6/13 i got one of these calls. So i found this number and I called it and someone answered from this company and i asked him if he wanted his carpet cleaned. Ha Ha gotta have fun with these morons!

Just called us. Don't know ANYONE in Oregon!

The DNC list DOES work!  Once you are on the list, when scammers, phishers or unsolicited companies / people call, file a complaint on the DNC website.  Takes less than 3 minutes.  I have been on the DNC list since the beginning, and every time I report these numbers, in a very short time, they are not calling my number any longer.  The list only works if you report violators.  No, I do not work for the government or the Do Not Call list.  I use the information I find on this website to assist me in reporting unwanted and unsolicited calls.  Scammers, phishers and con artists change numbers faster then they change underwear.  It's up to those of us on the DNC list to report violators so they can be stopped from calling YOU any more.

Please stop these calls. There has to be a way to stop this. It takes a lot of effort for me to get to the telephone and then to find out it is a scam call. I am on the Do Not Call list. What's up with this?

Answering machine took the call, but caller left no message.  I was in the garage and ran in to answer the phone.  When is the FCC going to do something?

Robo Call from an out fit called Protection Services, with the "free security system" scam where you let them put a sign in your front yard and the security system costs you nothing BUT you have to pay them for monitoring, a monthly fee and they don't tell you this up front. Best to do a 1088b FCC complaint form at least. Caller ID comes up as the phone number with no dashes.
