Scam
If you block the caller they call back with out of area number to verify the number is still working
newportironman 2014-04-21 22:55:30 Unknown
Called. Went to voice mail. No answer. I've blocked.
Dave-O 2014-04-21 22:04:45 Unknown
Called, did not leave a message. Glad I did not answer.
dontgothere 2014-04-21 14:53:03 Unknown
Sure it does. if you don't recognize the number or the number is UNKNOWN or RESTRICTED and you do NOT know who it is just don't answer it.
Larry 2014-04-19 16:33:18 Unknown
Why file complaints, obviously they aren't doing anything to stop it

Prostitution on the rise...some W***E from 1-458-201-1298 continues to call asking for sexual favors. We are not into this type of behavior , this is a bathroom wall type of phone number. Beware!

Revenge,
Why would ANYONE in their right mind knowingly place their phone number on ANY list? You DO know that these lists are provided to the very people you want to NOT have call, with the admonition, "See all these numbers? Don't call them. Now, I'm relying on you, Mr. Telemarketer, to be perfectly honest and promise me you won't call any of these numbers I gave you, because I won't be checking to make sure you don't call them, ok? Thanks, Mr. Telemarketer, for not calling those numbers I gave you."
You are also incredibly naive if you think the Federal government, deep in debt, is going to devote resources to trying to stop a call that likely did not even originate in this country to begin with.
How do you stop these calls? Very simply, by NOT putting your number on any "list". All that list does is give the callers the knowledge they need. They know, from the Do (Not) Call list, that your number is live and a person answers. I recently bought a new phone, and did NOT place it on any list, and lo and behold...no calls! Go figure.
BOTTOM LINE: The Do (Not) Call list is provided to companies! (Not sure if the government charges or not for it, but it's definitely given out to telemarketers.

I bought a cell phone in order that my children and family be able to contact me if needed. They don't call often enough but this number 458-201-1298 calls daily, never leaves a message and... I do NOT take calls from numbers that I am not familiar with and even some that I am familiar with. My phones are all set to stop ringing after the 3rd ring but it is still annoying to get a daily call.

No one has the technology to stop them so we have resorted to spamming them from our iPhones and then we block them on our cells so they can't terrorize those yet. We gift them HUNDREDS & HUNDREDS & HUNDREDS of text to landline messages to thank them for terrorizing us on the landlines that we work very hard to pay for. This is so very frustrating and pathetic that these telemarketers are allowed to continue to do this to us. We will soon be forced to give up our land lines as a result of these greedy pigs like so many of our friends have already done. And that only confuses us more as to why carriers are unable to stop them - they stand to lose ALOT of money because they can not. Too bad for the customers and the carriers. Congratulations, Telemarketers. You win. Except for the spamming you will continue to get. You're welcome.

If you really want to know the truth about where these calls are or are not coming from, you need to realize they are not being made from a phone. They are made using software advertised on this page.
8x8 Call Center Software
business.8x8.com
These are the scum buckets that are making these calls possible. The phone numbers are fake...
If Mars had an area code, these scammers would be calling from mars.. So stop being so naive..
There are laws against forging or making false caller ID numbers... So if you want to actually do something that has the law on your side, then get them for fake caller ID..
Or get a call screening device. Dial 1 to speak with rover, dial 2 to speak with the moon, ....dial 9753 to get to the next level... Set it up so it will take 3 hours to get a real person...

I am not a business, and I am on both my state's and the National Do Not Call lists. All of these calls are illegal to me. I have filed 40 + complaints with my state's Attorney General's office, and quite a few with the National DNC web site. As of several weeks ago, they had the subpoenas ready to be delivered to the carriers of the many numbers I have provided them.

The scammers made a gross error by contacting a secure witness protection location where all incoming calls are traced immediately and pinged to their physical location whether they emanate from a burn disposable mobile phone, Voice Over Internet Protocol or bounce off any foreign servers. The boys at the agency will be knocking down their doors shortly. Spoof caller id numbers are as old as my vintage IBM AT!

I get calls from 458-201-1298 all the time. I don't say anything when I pick up and wait for someone to say something. Today I got Michelle or something like that. Could hear a bunch of other scam artists in the background. All wanting to sell me some google ad. She claimed her company name is Internet Local Listing. BS! Sometimes I say I am the owner and when she asks what sort of business we have I tell her pooper scooping. Then I tell her another call has come in and put her on hold for as long as possible. I've reported them to the website given in other posts. And I'll report them again and say they are now trying to extort money from me (figure calling relentlessly is the same extortion). Maybe they can be shut down - but you know they'll just start up with another number with the same scam. They must be in India or some offshore country. They have accents. Claim to be in southern California - yeah right.
