The do not call list does not cover debt collectors it is only for tele marketers. If you have a past due debt with one of their clients they can indeed continie to call/ If you wasnt them to stop. You must tell them in writing

I received mail from BofA saying that REDC handles deed in lieu of foreclosure for them. My question is: Has anyone done a deed in lieu of foreclosure? If so, what was the process and what information did they provide and what info did you provide? Any info would be helpful.

We are constantly getting phone calls from this number.  We are dealing with attorney/judges regarding our home situation.  RDS is NOT affiliated with Bank of America.  They are a scam.  If they do not stop calling our phones, we will press charges. BOA is in enough deep hot water with mass mortgage and foreclosure problems; don't need to add insult to injury.   They want all sort of personal identifiable information from us BEFORE we even start a phone call. We have them on our caller ID and refuse to answer their calls.  Please make them stop now!

REDC.  Pretends to be bank of america or fannie mae about your troubled mortgage.  Really just a collections company. Tells you "no you cant have modification have to do deed in lieu"  Also sends letters and signs them with name of legitimate contact who is actually working on modification.  I had direct number  for this legitimate contact, called him and found out modification is on track, does not know anything about deed in lieu letters using his name. Very tricky.  This has happened while I was being given a modification.  Do not trust these crooks.  Call directly to your lenders customer service line to get in touch with legit contact person.

We have been getting calls from these morons for better than 6 months now. I called them today to get them to stop calling here and they say they want to talk to my husband about his loan. Uh, guess what, you peabrains, we don't have a loan. They want my husband to verify this and he owes them no explanations and he does not need to be harrassed after working a 15 hour day. The do not call list does nothing, today was my 15th written complaint about this company and they call almost every day. They say on the recording that they are a debt collector but we do not owe any debt to anyone.

Watch yourself ...B of A is the biggest crooks in the market in today's world, think about it a company so big was on it's way to bankruptcy. Got bailout and made a profit all within maybe a year....I'm still having problems and it's a couple years or so....Face it! They don't want to help you at all, the market value of you home is very low and they stand to lose money..Your loan today makes them a huge profit, so why would you think they want to help you except destroy your credit and take more money out of you with built in fees...Most of the calls are collectors from different areas of the country. Your name becomes delinquent and it's on the system for anyone to grab. the Bank calls you several times because they are hook in to collect a debt. This is why the economy is failing. They don't want to help you all they want you to pay what you agree....It's a free market, whoever get the client to pay they get a profit of the money plus a little extra on the side. Here what you can do to get there attention.....after they go thru there bull crap that they are recording you for training purposes......tell them that you are also recording them.....see how fast they clam-up....then you here why you are recording us and you can tell them that since this is all new to you, you decided to record for training purposes....2 things can happen ...1. click! or 2. the supervisor who monitors the phones get on. She'll ask one question "why are you recording?' Think about it at one time they use to ask you if they can record, now it's pre-record so if you continue you agreed to be recorded. It's important to listen..
Don't trust the banks to help you.....find a cheap attorney and let them handle it.
The 90 days is a standard automated letter that get generate to scare you in paying your bill.
If you are have difficulty in paying then  you can call the bank and talk to them or get a attorney....
Make sure he is honest too..............if you do yourself the banks will drag it.

They (REDC) say they are calling because of a mortgage debt I have with Bank of America-which is interesting since I have never had a mortgage loan with BOA.  They would hang up if I answered-finally called them back to tell them to stop.  They claimed they get all of their info from BOA and that I should call them.  Reported both to the FTC (for what little good that will do).

They called me and wanted me to give my property address.  They finally said they were Bank of America and could not discuss anything with me unless I gave a property address.  I have 76 rental properties and this young girl on the phone had no clue what she was doing.

They told me the same thing.  I haven't done anything because the condo has already been foreclosed on - following my bankruptcy.  I feel like the process is done as far as I'm concerned.  I even have a certificate of sale and title filed with the courthouse!

I had the same thing happen to me.  I told them I didn't have the condo and hadn't had it for about 3 years.  I had included it in a bankruptcy because BOA messed up 5 short sales!! so they left me with no choice but to file bankruptcy.  RECD then told me I needed to send them my discharge papers for the bankrupcy and a handwritten letter of why I defaulted.  BOA knows all this so I haven't sent RECD anything.  I just continue to get letters from BOA telling me they can help me save my house from foreclosure!  - which go directly into the trashcan - and I either ignore their phone calls or talk to them and tell them AGAIN that I do not have the condo.  3 years!! Do you think they will ever get the message???

Well I awoke this morning with a missed called as well as a voicemail from this REDC , she stated she's representing BOA and would love for me to call them back . I've the post and obviously it's a scam because I don't own a home, I have no mortgage, I've never been in foreclosure/ short sale... I don't even have an account with BOA. I don't plan on calling her back I have nothing to say to them.

RDS is a third party for Bank of America.  You may or may not have received a letter from this company who does work for B of A.  Send a copy of the letter to the Attorney General in your state as well as keeping a log of the calls and send those to the Attorney General.  These companys have been in trouble for their practices in various states.  Counselor for B of A that I am currently dealing with, has told me to ignore the letter.  Not sure if this harassment was addressed with the mass settlement lawsuit, but sending a copy of the letter to the Attorney General of the State, may help keep this guys in line.  Good luck.

Received several calls from this number of which I have not been able to answer, they leave a message state they are with REDC and Bank of America.  I'm a real estate agent working on a short sale for a client and will definitely tell him not to speak to these people after reading all these posts as I'm working with someone specifically from Bank of America

Total scam. I started getting call from this company several weeks ago, I am currently working with bank of america re: my loan. I immediately knew what they were about so i didn't even go into a conversation with them. The guy told me he was representing Bank of America. I was like really. I speak to my rep from bank of america every day so I don't understand why you would be calling me. I advised him not to call me again. Today yet another call, i answered as soon as she asked my name i told her to take my name off their list and to stop calling my cell phone. If they call again I am reporting them for harrassment. Bunch of scam artist trying to get your house for nothing. The funny thing they just started to call after the new mortgage assistance got announced. People don't fall for this scam.

Wants copies of my Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Papers and Hardship letter, so they can start the process to remove my husbands name and my name from the title and deed to the house that we included in the BK.  They also stated that Bank of America had hired them to take care of all the foreclosures and etc.  I am going to call BofA tomorrow to confirm, before I send REDC anything that has personel information.

"Great"? Are you kidding? B of A manipulates the market and then uses fraud and non-disclosure to strong-arm homeowners into leaving their homes in shame...
and they and their third party criminals are "great"?

I guess destroying the country's economy with a huge ponzi scheme and then scaring families out of their homes is "great" then.

Home owners should learn about their RIGHTS.  Check out the "Individual Resolution Society" or any reputable organization or lawyer who is familiar with this situation.  Go by referrals and personal research and don't believe what anyone tells you if they have something to gain by YOUR short sale or Deed in Lieu !

Sorry Stan - Unless I get EXPRESS WRITTEN CONSENT from Bank of America that they have turned over my short sale from my B of A employee account manager to this third party, I will NOT be calling them back and giving them my account number or any other information they requested on my voice mail.  There are enough posts on this site to make me proceed with caution.  My account manager at B of A has never heard of them.  Too many scammers preying on unsuspecting, confused (desperate?) people.  If you are contacted, please verify with B of A directly BEFORE calling them back.

Incidentally, my mortgage is (at last for now) on-time and not delinquent, and there would be no reason for collections department to call me.

I received a call from this company as well, (REDC) and the caller stated they were calling on behalf of Bank of America.  Bank of America has now assigned my short-sale account to a specific person within Bank of America to handle the entire transaction start to finish.  She says she has never heard of this company, and that B of A "rarely works thru third parties".  She asked me if I had called the number back and given them my account info that they had requested, and I informed her that thanks to this site, I had not called until I could confirm they were in fact associated - which it appears they are not.  So I will not be calling REDC unless I get express, written notification from B of A to do so.  I am hesitate to call them an outright scam, but do your homework before you give them any information...
