Same deal here. I was contacted by 3 different scam artists within a month of opening my Tastefully Simple business. This phone number was the first, and I'm still dealing with this twit. Jessica Alvarez is who she's going by now. Same deal about money coming from her boss and for me to send her the overage. She Fed Ex'd me the money order (which I never thought would actually happen), and I didn't even open it. I called Fed Ex and told them that I didn't know who the sender was (because it wasn't from Jessica Alvarez, or from Iowa, where she claimed to be from) and to come pick it up.

I"m glad I didn't open it, because someone else reported that their money order was for almost $2k. Get the heck out of here.
She's continually texting me. I told her that I sent the check back, and she freaked on me, and I told her she was a scam and to stop contacting me.

I got a text with very bad grammar from a Paula Rose stating she wanted to buy Mary Kay from me. She also said she was in Georgia and was deaf and dumb. She wanted my email address to send me her order. I told her it is better to find someone in Georgia! Then checked on here, so glad I did :)

I got a similar email from a Paula Rose who had just given birth and wanted to place an order with my Tastefully simple business. Same story though, wanted all of my info so her "boss"could send a certified check. It seemed strange so all I did was kindly reply asking her "boss" to call me with her CC info to expedite any order she wanted to place.  All I have was my cell # and now today I received a text from this 469 number saying hello. This is annoying. I hate feeling violated!

Has anyone reported this?  I am looking into doing so myself.  She contacted me with the same story, placed a large order for Mary Kay products.  I was very suspicious but gave her the benefit of the doubt, she stated she would send the check to me, planned on not shipping product until after the check cleared.  Today I get a message from her stating that her boss screwed up and sent too much money and for me to return the difference to her, well send it to her art dealer directly.  I started googling the information she provided and found all this.
Can this not be traced??  I would never have released any product without cleared payment but wonder how many people have fallen for it.

Please get to the bottom of this scam. It seems like money laundering, except if these large checks are no good, then who is making money. This has been going on for a while, and all these people should be in jail.

I am CTMH consultant. Amanda Johnson has been in touch with me for the last two weeks, promising ck would come. It did. Order was $107.62, check sent was $1,999.00. Wanted me to wire Western Union with the remaining balance. What is wrong with these morons? How can they make money if the checks bounce! I would love to see these people prosecuted to full extent of the law.

I'd like to thank everyone for taking the time to post.  I also received an email from her requesting product.  I contacted the Arlington, TX police department to report the potential fraud that she is attempting.  I was told that this is a common scam, & the people are losing money.  I will be awaiting a call from the department that handles this type of situation.

I received the same request with the same details for a rather large Avon order.  It's always the same with these people....they can't just order from your Web Store like a legitimate customer would expect to do, never are able to use a credit card & apparently won't use PayPal either, which my Web Store offers.  This "Amanda: is certainly making her way around quickly!  Don't fall for these....they are scams!!!

I am a distributor for a product and got an email from Amanda Johnson stating she wanted to order some products from me. Of course, she's deaf and has to have her boss mail me the check but he made a mistake and it was too much. She's already mailed the check and have asked that I wire the remainder of the money to her via money gram or western union. I told her I would have to wait to see if the check cleared before I could send the remainder of the money to her. I'll be taking the check directly to the bank and reporting fraud.

Same thing for me!!  Have been corresponding with "jessica messi" for a week and a half.  Deaf woman, boss will issue certified check because she has no credit card. Wanted to buy Tupperware from me.  Got my info from my Tupperware website.  I honestly thought she was "otherwise" impaired because her grammar made no sense.  Felt sorry for her.  Said sending me a check but boss overpaid on it, and I need to send the remaining money via Western Union to her "art dealer".  hahaha!  "She" started texting me weird, uncomfortable things yesterday, asking my age, and am I still with husband.  I told her I don't respond to personal questions.  All that was before I just got the email today about the "art dealer."  People like that need to bite it.  Here I was thinking I was making a huge sale:(
