Who did you use to take them to court?

This number has called me more than once it, called me twice today not more than 30 min apart

I answered; no one on the line.  I just hung up.

tried to  tell them to remove my number  they been calling the wrong person..

I just got a call from this number too. 5/6/2014...just add it to your reject list...obviously either a telemarketer or bill collector.

First National Collections Bureau. Slime balls. I answer and blast them with an air horn.

Not sure what they want, but they are not getting nothing from me. So just stop calling.

I received a call from this number. I don't know who it is or why they called. They didn't leave a message. Want them to stop calling my phone.

I just got a call from that number today.  But they didn't leave a voicemail.  I called back, and the voice said please hold. Then I hear a woman say First National Collection.  I hung up, and blocked the number from my cell.  

I got a call also - because it is in my cell I just blocked their numbers.

This # called me once at 1322 today.  I did not answer since I was indisposed at the moment.  Left no msg. Called me AGAIN at 15:23, same day. No msg left. I looked up the number, found this website, and read that they use an autodialer.  I used to work in "soft collections" in college (not too long ago). Autodialing on a cell phone is illegal, especially if they are aware that they are calling a cell phone.  I called the # back, spoke with Sara, and advised her that I received 2 calls from this number and it must stop or I will call lawyer, since this is a cell phone.  She stated it would be removed.  I thanked her, then terminated the call.

AKA: scam.

I have just created a couple of contacts called:
  First Name -- DO NOT ANSWER 1
  Last Name -- DUMB A***S CALLING

  First Name -- DO NOT ANSWER 2
  Last Name -- DUMB A***S CALLING

  First Name -- DO NOT ANSWER 3
  Last Name -- DUMB A***S CALLING


Every time someone like this keeps calling I had their number(s) to these contacts.  If these contact names fill up to the limit of number...I will just add a #4.  Then I set my phone to "automatically send to voice mail" and I never have to even be bothered with them.  

This seems to work as eventually most have just stopped trying to get ahold of the non-existant person.

Automated call looking for Marie somebody couldn't even understand the last name.  Obvious debt collection call. Caller ID read Local Office.

Call on my cell from this number, don't know who it is or how they got this number, as only family/friends have it. Only had breathing when voice mail picked up

This company buys old debt from other credit card companies and tries to recover it.  If you can block their calls, do so.  They won't give up until they feel you are a lost cause.  Be warned, when your credit bureau is updated with new debt or job information, they will start calling again.

The debt collector behavior that you describe is clearly a violation of the FDCPA.  I don't know why you think you would have to pay an attorney to get this to stop.  Many consumer lawyers take cases like this for free, with no money up front and no risk to you, as long as you have some notes or records that document the harassment.  You can get $1000 in damages (plus all legal fees and costs), and potentially a lot more depending on your state laws and whether they are calling a cell phone vs. a land line.

I called these folks back after getting a couple calls from them on my cell # which I do not give out.  They answered with a minimum of machine messages.  They were trying to contact somebody I never heard of and whose name I likely cannot pronounce.  
I have had this happen before. What it is, is that my phone number probably belonged to this other person who ran up a debt on it.
I have had my home phone since 2002 and it's unlisted.  So do a search for my number and a previous owner comes up. I also think they are still handing it out because I am keep getting debt collector calls on them after all this time..

Can you tell me more detailed information on how to get these people to stop calling? They are asking for an Andrea G***** and we don't even know an Andrea. I have informed them of this a hundred times and they keep telling me they have removed my number from their list, but continue to call even though I have told them not to call my home again. Even if you look our number up, it has our name in the directory I'm pretty sure this maybe was a number for this person long ago, but we've had this number for 5 years. We are on the "Do Not Call" directory, although that is for solicitors. I told them I've had enough of their crap and will record any and all future calls from them and print out our phone records showing how often they call. I cannot afford an attorney for something like this as I have to have attorney funds for my attorney for custody of my granddaughter. Surely there are other measures I can take to make them stop without having to pay for it. Maybe you have suggestions I can utilize. I have looked up online about what to do about wrong collection calls, but not much luck there. Your suggestions and any helpful information you can give will be greatly appreciated. I received 3 calls from this number this morning.  One at 11:06 Am, No message.  One at 11:37 AM, no message, and another at 11:37 AM with no message!!!!  Blocked!!

I KEEP GETTING THESE CALLS AND I DON'T KNOW HOW THEY GOT MY NUMBER

Someone called asking for me by my old married name. Haven't had that name in 15 yrs. No credit cards, no outstanding debt. Made my husband talk to them.  Blocking the number

I received a call from this number looking for someone who no longer lives here.  They stated that they were a collection agency.

No idea who this is but wish they would quit calling.

I just received the first call from this number...actually the call came from 1-800-824-6191 and my mother answered which surprises me that they called her land line for me...told her that it was a very important personal matter and that I should call their "local office" at 469-304-9862.... Don't have a clue who this is...they used my maiden name which I haven't used in 23 years....I have 0 credit cards...only 2 car loans, a mortgage, insurance and utilities...I don't even have a cell bill because I use a prepaid cell!! Would really like to know who this is!!!

They call me continually, probably about a debt my son owes.  We are elderly, have no debt whatsoever, and we are keeping a record of their calls on our caller ID.  Thankfully, we have figured out how to block their calls, but they still register on our caller ID and we would like to know how we can press charges against them for harassing us.

Several calls....no answer....no message....just hangs up
