Notice to scammers, spammers, and telephone solicitors of whatever nature: I did not acquire a telephone and continue to pay for the service to provide you and those of your ilk a direct link to me or my home. I have Caller Identification and I provide you, via messaging service, a means of leaving me a brief message that I may review on my time and at my leisure rather than on your annoying schedule. My telephone routine is as follows:
1.) Telephone rings
2.) I observe the Caller Identification
a.) If I recognize it and choose to, I answer. Gone are the days of, ?If it rings answer it!?
b.) If it is not recognized, or is ?Unnamed,? or ?Toll Free,? or ?Wireless Caller? or etc etc I do not answer and wait to see if a message is left. If no message is left I assume what you had to say wasn't worth the wasted time placing the call. I make a mental note of the call and the second repetition precipitates an entry to my Call Blocked list.
c.) If a message is left I choose If or When I may return the call. If you receive no call back from me assume your message did not pique my interest or that my brief Internet search subsequent to your call alerted me to your annoying practice. Further attempts to contact me will only stiffen my resolve to Avoid speaking with you with notices being forwarded to various of my friends and family.
Changing calling numbers or altering the information displayed on the Caller Identification merely increases my data base of Blocked Numbers and detracts from more than enhances your case and further proves your intent to be, at least, an annoyance or burden to my life. Thanks for reading.

trying to sell health insurance, call all the time

this group calls my home phone two to four times a day ...never leaves a message ...as soon as I see the 469 prefix on the call, I do not answer ...I answered once (November 2011) and told the "barely English-speaking" solicitor, I was not interested...this has not discouraged them ...they call and call thinking I may have somehow changed my mind ...
the line that ABBA gets through on is a bare-bones phone line that has no features like "call block"..
it really aggravates me that I have to subscribe to features and pay for those features to keep these companies at bay ...because of what they do in circumventing my wishes by continued calling, I would never purchase their product under any circumstance or price

I get call daily from this number. When I answer the person hangs up. What recourse do I have? Isn'y this against the law?

My business received a call from 469-442-0677 this morning. The caller identified herself as Daisy Buchanan. She asked to speak with our business owner, and asked for her by name. When I informed her the owner was not in, she tried to pitch to me and began by asking what insurance I had. I gave her no information and told her I was not interested. She then asked if any other employees would be interested. I said "No, thank you" and hung up.

Telemarketer which obviously doesn't care if it calls numbers on the "Do Not Call" list. Asked for their address; they hung up. Everyone who gets calls from this slimy telemarketer should report them to the FTC.

I've received unwanted calls from these jerks nearly every day for a month or more. From elsewhere, I've learned the slimey organization behind these deceptive calls is America's Business Benefit Association. Some info:

I get several calls from, "out of area" every day. Just a few minutes ago, I got another, but after it said, "out of area" it gave the number: 469-442-0677. These people call at all hours of the day and never leave a message. They don't hang up until my machine picks up, and then my machine goes ballistic when they don't leave a message. Very very annoying. Please, please...some one put an end this crap.

YET ANOTHER pain in the rear; calling about "my" supposed pharmaceutical meds! of course, this IS a lie! The chick (who also has a HEAVY ACCENT) tries to talk above me. Now, they have been calling; using differennt numbers, for about 8 or nine YEARS, every day, sometimes as often as THIRTY TIMES per day (depends on who the pushy punk is)..
Yes, I have reported them to everyone I can think of reporting them to. I have advised them that selling medications (without doctor's Rx) is against the LAW, and sending ALL and ANY controlled substances (medications) from another state into the state of TEXAS (where I am) is also illegal...
Does that stop them? NO, not a bit.
By the way, the one prescpription they call about IS one I got many years ago from CVS pharmacy and, stupid me, I requested a refill online with CVS.. then I heard from one of their pharms that they had a problem with SOMEONE IN THEIR CORPORATION selling patient's info.. which is why I get so many of these calls.
Wayne 2011-06-06 20:49:25 Unknown
The folks on the other end of the line have been calling repeatedly just like you all say. When I answer it's just dead air. They're apparently using an auto dialer and this thing signals them when they have a 'bite' on the line. One day I decided to wait it out for a dial tone or some other signal. After about a minute some guy answered. I also decided to let him hear dead air for a while. After about ten hellos he finally hung up. It got me thinking why don't we all just do that? Just wait them out untill they hang up. They don't mind wasting our time, why not waste theirs? It's all you'll cost them as their company is paying a flat rate for long distance. Their time is money, so is ours. Let's waste it together. Now lets all join hands, shall we???
BTW - after doing the above the call frequency has fallen to two per day from over twelve. Foget about reporting them. This country's law enforcement is too busy with other less important things to do like lunch and doughnuts.
Wayne 2011-06-06 20:49:25 Unknown

DJ 2011-06-06 20:49:25 Unknown
They called my office and wanted to know if we have insurance and how much of it we paid. She said they help people get cheaper insurance. I said we are on the do not call list. She said this wasn't a sales call, lie. They need to be reported to someone.

STOP THE CALLS

"ABBA REPRESENTATIVE - 20 Jan 2010
I am an agent that represents America's Business Benefits Association. I am very frustrated as to see such horrible, and somewhat unprofessional comments regarding our organization. Our not for profit organization has a very unique set up, unlike most insurance companies and any broker you will ever visit.
I apologize on behalf of our organization to everyone who has received numerous calls from the marketing department. There is obviously problems within our phone systems that I will bring to the president and try to get de-bugged ASAP. However, the only people on here who have anything bad to say about the company, are people who have only received calls. No one has taken the time to see our program and what we do. I understand as well, I hate telemarketers! They are very pesky and annoying, but it is an essential part to over 80% of businesses in the U.S. It is the major part of what thrives sales, revenue and profits for any company, which in turn makes our WHOLE ECONOMY. It is an essential part of business and our country.
We group about 100,000 members together nationwide under our not for profits umbrella, ABBA. We are not the insurance company, and don't represent the insurance company in any way. It makes it a great set up for you, the client. By doing this, our members can never be singled out for rate increases based on individual claims or HEALTH CLASSIFICATION. (this is every insurance companies loop hole) If any member is to get diagnosed with a fatal illness and begin making major claims, the risk gets spread against everyone, not just your family, business, demographic area, or play type like nearly every other insurance plan out there will. Because of our large group buying power, we are also able to maintain certain levels of benefits and high standards for our members. Our clients receive:
-Guaranteed renewability. You will always have your coverage at a healthy individuals rate.
-On the job coverage, 24/7. This is a major exclusion in most polices due to Workers' Comp, and a big hole for any self employed individual, or 1099 contractor.
-Coverage in all 50 states, and 90 days outside of the US! Very few plans offer international coverage.
-Portability to any state without going through underwriting again. Many will cancel you when moving out of state, forcing you to reply and any new conditions are now pre-existing.
-Flexibility to visit ANY DOCTOR! We work with over 500 independent networks, and will still pay any doctor out of network if needed. We even have a reimbursement - to - the - client procedure, if the doctor refuses to do medical billing! There are few other insurance companies that will do that for their clients.
-We require that our endorsed carriers maintain an A rating at all times. Our claims get paid very quickly.
There is much more that we do for our clients by coming through the association. You also get the benefit that if ever needed, your family and business has the backing of a nationwide association, generating hundreds of millions in revenue for endorsed insurance companies. If there is ever a claim that is not getting paid, and should be, we have a very strong voice and bargaining power with our endorsed carriers.
What makes us a not for profit, is the fact that our association helps families to pay their deductibles and save money. We have a program that is very similar to the "supplemental insurance company with the duck" and many other carriers, except it costs about 25% of the price of other similar plans, because we put any unexpected stimulus on claim payouts right back into the product, and lowering costs more - not into the pockets of our board. We give families the opportunity to pay the premium of a $5k + deductible, but give them the coverage of a $250 deductible.
If you are reading through this website, please understand that any organization, especially one with a marketing department is going to get some annoying comments. However, take it from our many satisfied, professional members that keep us in business for ten years, and continue to help us grow through referrals. Do not take the advice of people posting negative remarks on this website, when sadly over 50% of them use improper English, misspell very common words, and use shortened phrases such as "2" for "to" etc.
We have a unique organization, with a great product. We are endorsed by many national, well accredited organizations, and our primary insurance company, Independence American, is one of the only ones in the U.S.A. that has never had a negative remark filed against it. We are a terrific organization. In my years in the insurance industry, and various brokerages I have worked with in the past, I have never come across something that I can be so passionate about.
If you are reading this because someone has spoken with you about our products, please get more information regarding our not for profit association. If you have questions regarding our products, any of the previous compaints, anything I stated in this follow up, or what we do, you may feel free to call my personal cell phone number. I would be more than glad to help you with any questions you have regarding the messed up insurance industry.

They called and asked for the owner or manager - I told her she called a private residence and she proceeded to tell me I could benefit - I told her that we are on the national do not call resgistry she claims it doesn't apply to her. I told her to stop calling here and hung up - as I was hanging up she muttered something very rude.

This company has been calling me every day, several times per day for a month - "America's Business Benefit Association." I have no business with them, never have. I made a "Do Not Call" complaint. I bought a phone with call blocking and put them on the block calls list. This truncates the calls, though I have to suffer through one ring for the phone to process the block, for each call. Their number still shows up on the Caller ID so their calls remain somewhat irritating. Nevertheless, America's Business Benefit Association continues to call.
