They called asking if I was looking for a job. Waited for a punch line, then the call disconnected.

I received a call from Ms. Pryor, who asked if I'd received a letter they sent about a "complaint" to an address in which I lived about 7 years ago. I told her no, that I have not lived that address in years and she asked if I had forwarded my mail, because I should have gotten their complaint. I asked her what it was about and she put me on hold for a while, then came back on the line and told me her name was "Mrs. Wolford" and proceeded to get rude with me about a debt that was so old it's already fallen off of my credit report. She told me her client, another 3rd party debt collector, is suing me for the remaining balance on a car that was repossessed 8 years ago that belonged to my ex-boyfriend. I told her the statute of limitations on that debt has run its course and they can't sue me for it. She said, "Actually they can. And if you have any assets or bank accounts, they're going to take them all." I told her good luck with that and she needed to stop calling me. She said, "Ok, I'll just call your place of business and speak to the payroll department and start taking your paychecks away from you. You don't think I know where you live, but guess what, I do. I know what color your house is, I know what kind of car you have in the driveway, I know where you work. I know everything about you. And I'm coming after you." I told her to rot in hell and hung up. Good luck, lady. You've just violated the FDCPA in so many ways to a paralegal who specializes in FDCPA law. Hope you don't value your job!

I've received not one but two voice mails from a number that directed me to this number. I have not called back. The initial voice mail was very sketchy didn't use my name, didn't say where she was calling from and to be honest she sounded so sick that I couldn't understand what she was even saying. The second phone call I received today. The gist of it was something about a recommendation from Mrs. Pryors (or was it Fiers) who knows. It also said that if I didn't call back that meant I was agreeing to any legal responsibility. Which makes no sense. You can't make someone legally responsible for something calling a number that could, for all intensive purposes no longer be their number. She also didn't use my correct name, spoke in an unclear voice.

If it isn't a scam, and I'm pretty sure it is. This is the most unprofessional person I've ever received a voice mail from. Thank goodness for whocallsme.com

Invest in an app like mr number or something similar where you can screen some of your calls.

I have told these people twice that they have the wrong number and wrong person; however they keep calling - the first call start'ed with a Ms Pryor leaving a nasty message on machine - I called back and got some person named Linda who was very rude and wanted to talk over me.  I told her to stop calling my phone number and she said that the number we have on the file - I tried to tell her that she must have put on file and don't call anymore.  Well this evening another message on phone I called back and their answering machine came on when I proceeded to tell them not to call my number anymore; someone turned on music in the background.  These people are rude and very unprofessional - I don't really know who they are; but they need to stop calling my phone number

After at least 50 rude rude calls from Mrs.Pryer and Mrs. Benson I finally got enough info from "Marcus "to figure out the 34,000 dept they are trying to collect was not mine . The two continued to call and insisted I owe the money.So, I have turned the tables on them,I have called 5 times acting rude,rude just like them and GUESS WHAT?? They have blocked my call.. HURRRRAY!!!! TURN THE TABLE!! DO NOT TAKE IT!! IT IS ILLEGAL TO torture POOR PEOPLE like this. Stand up for yourselves.

These people keep blowing up my co-workers direct phone asking for me.  I called back and got a very Rude person that had my name.  When I threw the rudeness back at her she said she was ending the call.  I said fine and she hung up!  She also said she did not have the phone number on file that they had been calling.  Which is a lie because I didn't just pull her number out of the air.  I know of nothing due or outstanding!!
I have blocked their numbers from my phone.

I had a message on my home phone to call this # 469-453-8433 from a Mrs. Stinson.  I called and was put on hold while she looked for something. She then said a Jane Doe (I am not listing the actual name) had given my name as a reference.  I then asked when Jane gave her that info - she told she could not tell me.  I said Jane COULD NOT have given her that info because I have only had this # for the past 6 months AND have not had any contact with Jane for 15 years.  This company/person/ is not only unprofessional but ________.

me too, she wanted someone I do not know and stated my call came from his number VERY NASTY

They just called me and threatened me with the attorney general and said she had recorded what i said but she was really ugly with me and i got ugly back accusing me of being someone else

I got a call from Mrs. Benson asking me if she had the right person and if i got her message I'm like what are you talking about what;s this all about then she proceeded to ask me if I speak English I'm like yes then all of sudden this other lady (Spanish) gets on the phone and said the call is being recorded. Give me your name so and I will have my attorney call you she said No give me his number so I did then she said we are taking you to court for non payment on a car that we have paid in 6-7yrs and that they would garnish our checks so  I finally decided to hang up because  she wouldn't let me get a word in for nothing. This is a scam tired of her calling me she is a RUDE LADY!!

I also got a call from this number but don't answer any numbers that I don't know. A message was left that they had a complaint against my property with my address and that I needed to call asap. I call back to find out what was wrong and she said she was with an attorneys office and that if I did not pay an old bill then they would put a lean on my property. I asked who she was with and she would not tell me. Then she said she was a law firm working for Providian and were going to file charges on me. I hung up and she called back yelling at me then hung up. They have called 2 other times but left no message.

Same issue.. This lady called and left messages saying that someone put a complain agaist me. Who is this woman?????

Whoever this is actually called my neighbor and left a message with her to have me call her.  She told my neighbor my phone was acting "goofy".  Boy they will try anything!  Should be a law against it!

I received call that went to voicemail from this agency stating that I had a returned item from my bank and that I had 48 hours to correct this issue. He said he was from CRS and then gave me the number to call him at and a account number. I tried to call the number back however it was not a working number. I checked with my bank and I did not have anything that had been returned and the bank said that they would not be calling me they would send a letter in the mail stating that something was returned. I am a nervous reck with this. I guess I will be calling the police office in 48 hours to see if I have a warrant for my arrest. I have no way to contact the person that called me because the number does not work. Anyone with advise?

My husband received a call from Ms. Pryor with CRS and she stated that there was a "complaint" against my husband for not paying the remaining amount from a truck that he had that was repo'd. She tried to make it sound like she was working for a law firm. She threatened him with wage garnishment and a 1099C. Yes, my husband did have a truck repo'd a few years ago and the amount was charged off by the original creditor. My husband got mad and hung up on her. Immediately, my phone rang and it was Ms. Pryor. I was polite to her and started asking her questions. I asked her who she worked for and if she was with a collection agency. She stuttered for a moment and said, "with attorneys on staff". I played dumb and asked her what the bill was for. She said for the remaining balance from a reposessed 2003 Ford Taurus....quickly corrected her self and said F-150 truck. I said, "did you say Taurus?" and she ignored my question. (Funny, I used to own a Ford Taurus)...She said that she would file a 1099C if we didn't pay within four months. I asked if she could extend the number of months so that the payment would be affordable every month. She said that she would ask the "attorneys" and call me back in the morning. I asked for her name and phone number. She gave me this phone number and an extension number. I got on the internet and researched what a 1099C (not a big deal; just that the IRS would be notified of the charged off amount on the truck and we would have to report that amount as taxable income). Also, found numerous places saying that there are people out there trying to scam other people for old bills that are unpaid. I called the number back at 2:00 a.m. expecting to have to put in an extension number or something and it went straight to her voicemail. Hmm.....If she ever calls me again I will start calling her every night in the middle of the night. This crap is a scam. Somehow...she got some of our information and is posing as a bill collector.

Received a call from a Mrs. Pryor stating that she does not know what happened on our end but she never received our attorney information so she submitted her info for auto payroll deductions.  This is a scam, she never identified her company, nor do I have any debt for collection.  Beware do not call them back or give them any information.  I have the call recorded, so it will be forwarded for investigation.

Yep. Tell them they are to communicate with you and IN writing only.

So glad I saw this posting!! These people have been bothering my elderly parents trying to locate me. Does anyone know if I can do a cease and desist to them?

Received call from this number today 8/22/12 - voice message was left, indicated that a letter was sent to a PO box and sent back to them - called number back and the lady was really rude, would not tell me who she was or what company she was from.  Said if the call wasn't for me it wasn't my business.  Told me that she would call my number everyday because she could and hung up .... WOW !

This company is awful!!! I spoke to Linda who was EXTREMELY RUDE! The company is CRS & Associates, they are a collection agency for Capital One bank.  As soon as I advised Linda that the client had retained counsel she became eveN MORE RUDE if thats possible.  She talked over me, would not let me ask any questions and THEN HUNG UP ON ME! I called back to ask for a mailing address and she proceeded to ask me "did I not just give you the fax number"?  She then repeated herself, would not let me get a word in and then hung up.

This is all after Linda had called our client, threatened her with empty threats and lies of court!

caller would not give out info on who they were just said that they were trying to get a reference for someone that we did not know.  They were very rude when we tried to find out who they were.
