You should be ashamed of yourself.  DO NOT ever call someone simply because they have the same last name as someone you are looking for.  I DO NOT OWE anyone anything.  You are breaking the law!!!! I have reported Windsor Equity and Linda Parker to the BBB, the FTC and the local sheriff.  I have retained an attorney for a class action suit against Windsor Equity in Dallas TX and we plan to individually sue Linda Parker who calls from 800-318-8623 ext. 1176  214-647-3580.   I am putting Windsor Equity and the criminal Linda Parker on Notice.  You may not use your illegal tactics to harass me because I have the same last name as someone you are trying to locate.  You may not threaten me with lawyers if I do not assist.  The day of reckoning has come.  Linda Parker you will be sued; I will own your personal assets; YOU call that attorney; I promise you will need him!!!!!!

If you really want to know can a private investigator arrest you go the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services

AND NO THEY CANNOT ARREST YOU!!

They Investigate, track etc. they are not the LAW nor can they break the law or LIE and say they are the LAW that is a criminal offense PEOPLE the LAWS are available to everyone GO READ THE LAW not listen to GOSSIP or PI's who are providing and COLLECTORS who title themselves investigators!! Of course they are Investigating tracking down people for collections they are the lowest of low!!! Your best bet, if you owe money go to court and talk to the judge, we all must pay our debt but if you are behind on something, and it has gotten to the collector then go to the court the judge is your ownlly protection for them NOT TO suck you dry!!

Yeah, the FTC had this contest. They claim the winner had this great idea. I have yet to see his idea work to block guys like this at all. I had the idea to have the caller ID'd  by you then you could dial a simple two or three digit code to put them is a system that would cause them to just call themselves. Like with portfolio recovery. They would just call another person who works from another part of the country, using the same VPN server. This would have run these type of folks out of business is they couldn't call us but could use their phone for personal use, like 911 etc.

A woman from this number called me and asked for my social security number. I refused to give it, so she said I could give her my address or birthday so she could be sure I was the "right person". I again refused, because common sense says you don't give personal info to someone who just calls and asks for it without telling you why. She said that I would keep getting these calls. I hope so, the FTC would be interested and I never really outgrew my love of phone trolling.

They need to release information to me...gave them my address and told them to send it registered mail.....and then I came here.   I asked them if they were debt collectors and was told no....I hung up on them and they attempted three call backs in a row before they stopped....what should I do...go to State Attorneys?  They wanted me to confirm my social sec. # and I would not do it...same phone number as others....I thought if you requested info in writing they were supposed to stop calling.

If they don't stop calling you after you have asked them to you can file a complaint with your states attorney general's office. You don't need a lawyer and they will and answer your complaint with all the info needed to sue if they continue. This is my experience from Colorado.

Debt Collector
Where do I start, I can not believe the extent Ashley at Windsor Equity Group, #800-318-8623 ext. 1146, has gone through to defame my integrity. I have spoken with her and asked that she not continue to call my place of employment and family. She HARASSES!!!!!!! my father, weekly, lies about being an attorney for Windsor. She has traced my boyfriend through the phone number I provided her, she harassed him until he cursed her.  She lied about me being profane, Which I never have. She has used an advanced tracking system to contact my neighbors regarding supposed debt that I owe. She went way too far when she extracted my fathers personal information, and was rude to him when he asked her not to call him or his neighbors, regarding me. My life has been turned upside down by this woman and her company. I am a CHILD OF GOD, And in HIS WORD, according to PSALM 105:15.  DO NOT TOUCH MY ANNOINTED ONES, and DO MY PROPHETS NO HARM. I pray for them, because when MY GOD speaks, it is OVER! Ashley, don't sell yourself to the devil.

Funny, because when I called and spoke to someone at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau regarding your company's continued harassment against me for a debt that is NOT MINE, they verified that you are in fact violating a number of provisions of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

I have asked multiple representatives at your company, including supervisors, to cease and desist contacting me regarding a debt that does not belong to me. My name is not on the vehicle or the loan. I am in no way affiliated with the property or the financial matter. Yet, despite my continued attempts to explain this to you and being assured time and time again that you will no longer contact me...you continue to contact me.

I find it very difficult to believe that after the number of times I have explained, demanded, and conveyed that I don't wish to be continuously harassed that you "accidentally" continue calling me, threatening me, talking to me in a condescending manner, and so on. Purely accidental, I'm sure. Not your intention at all. There have only been about a dozen misunderstandings when someone from your company tells me they've made a note in the system and taken my number out of your calling list.

It is illegal to contact a third party repeatedly regarding a debt that is not theirs. Particularly when you've been asked not to...repeatedly. I love reading these posts from so-called "employees" of Windsor who claim your motives are purely innocent.

ALL of these people...the dozens, if not hundreds, of people making the SAME complaint about your company all over the Internet are ALL mistaken. Or, as you see it, we're ALL evil thieves who are intentionally hiding property. But what about those of us who have NOTHING to do with the people you're really after? Are we supposed to go do your job FOR you so that you stop harassing us? Perhaps we should pay someone else's debt we don't even know just to get you to stop calling?

The bottom line is your company's behavior is appalling and inexcusable. And, regardless of the Kool-Aid you're drinking, YOU ARE BREAKING THE LAW. I will be more than happy to prove this to you in the court of law upon filing a harassment lawsuit against Windsor Equity Group. Then tell me how many cases you've lost. Good luck to you.

Just got a second message from someone who called himself Steve.  He said we were named as a relative of a woman they were looking for, only we've never heard of anyone by that name, much less a relative.  I called back and told the receptionist (presumably) this, and told her not to call again.  Then I did what I always do after receiving more than one annoying call from the same number:  I blocked it.

Section 809 of the FDCPA http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf requires 3rd-party debt collectors to give debtors written notice of debt (the key word is *shall*) :
"§ 809. Validation of debts
(a) Within five days after the initial communication with a consumer in connection with the collection of any debt, a debt collector shall, unless the following information is contained in the initial communication or the consumer has paid the debt, send the consumer a written notice containing?
(1) the amount of the debt;
(2) the name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed;
(3) a statement that unless the consumer, within thirty days after receipt of the notice, disputes the validity of the debt, or any portion thereof, the debt will be assumed to be valid by the debt collector;
(4) a statement that if the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, the debt collector will obtain verification of the debt or a copy of a judgment against the consumer and a copy of such verification or judgment will be mailed to the consumer by the debt collector; and
(5) a statement that, upon the consumer?s written request within the thirty-day period, the debt collector will provide the consumer with the name and address of the original creditor, if different from the current creditor."

A Collection Agent May Not?

Here are the top 11 actions prohibited by the The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act:

Misrepresent Him or Herself

A debt collector may not misrepresent himself as an attorney or law enforcement officer.

Use the Telephone to Annoy or Harass

A collection agent may not cause a telephone to ring or engage any person in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously with an intent to annoy, abuse, or harass anyone at the called number.

Threaten Arrest or Lawsuit

A collection agent may not threaten a consumer with arrest. It may not threaten legal action that is either not permitted or not actually contemplated. In other words, a the threat of a lawsuit may be an empty one.

Use Abusive or Threatening Language

A debt collector may no use abusive or profane language in the course of communication related to the debt.

Publish a Bad Debt List

Publishing the consumer?s name or address on a "bad debt" list is prohibited.

Contact By Embarrassing Media

A debt collector may not communicate with a consumer by post card. It may not use any language or symbol, other than the debt collector?s address, on any envelope when communicating with a consumer by use of the mails or by telegram. A debt collector may use its business name if such name does not indicate it is in the debt collection business.

Contact a Consumer at Work

A collection agent may not communicate with consumers at their place of employment after being told this is unacceptable or prohibited by the employer.

Seek Unjustifiable Amounts

A debt collector may not demand any amounts not permitted under an applicable contract or as provided under law.

Contact a Consumer Represented by an Attorney

A collection agent may not contact a consumer after it learns the consumer is represented by a lawyer.

Communicate With a Consumer After Receiving a Validation Request

If a consumer sends a written §1692g response within 30 days, the collection agent may not communicate with the consumer until it mails the consumer the requested verification of original creditor's name and address.

Communicate With Third Parties

A debt collector may not reveal or discuss the nature of a consumer?s debts with third parties other than the consumer?s spouse or attorney. A collection agent may contact neighbors or co-workers only to obtain location information. It may contact a third party again if it has reason to believe the information the party provided previously is false.

Bills.com FDCPA FAQ

Below are questions Bills.com readers ask frequently:

Can a Collection Agent Call My Cell Phone?

Yes. However, if you tell the debt collector it may not use that number because it is a cell phone, it may not contact you again at that number.

I Keep Receiving Dozens of Calls From Collection Agents. Is That Legal?

No. Unscrupulous collection agents will use "block parties" or "office parties" where they contact a consumer, multiple neighbors, or co-workers telling them they need to reach the consumer on an urgent matter. This is not permitted under the FDCPA.

A Collector Says I Will Be Arrested if I Do Not Pay

This was a true statement before the US Civil War, but has not been true since. People may be arrested if an aggressive judge files a bench warrant for a person who does not appear at a hearing relating to a lawsuit regarding a debt. However, in that case, the offense is the failure to respond to a court order, and not the existence of the debt. As stated above, it is illegal under the FDCPA to threaten a consumer with arrest if the consumer does not pay the debt.

The message was NOT for me but for someone I know. They tried to lie saying someone is taking out criminal charges and their representing that party and need to get ahold of my friend. I kept asking what's this regarding and I can pass the message and all she kept saying was she needed to contact that person before it went to the authorities.... I basically told her GOOD LUCK on that and next time you call someone's phone give a little more info instead of being a bi***. Glad I googled the #

If Windsor Equity wants to collect on a debt, the least they could do is call the right person. Randomly calling people to shake them down on someone else's loan or fictitious debt is plain fraud.

Why dont you look up the state statues for trying to steal from elderly folks by harassing and yelling at them until they acquiesce. Maggot.

Really? If you have been informed that you have incorrect information you will stop harassing the third party that has nothing to do with the debt or vehicle in question? I suppose that's why after being harassed for MONTHS by Windsor Equity regarding a debt that is not mine, people who do not even share my last name, have NEVER had my address or phone number and sharing this information REPEATEDLY with your "investigators" and asking REPEATEDLY for you to stop calling me, that you CONTINUE to call me. I was told by one of your "investigators" that she was aware you are not to be calling me and had called my number "in error" and that she was removing my number from the system and making a note that I am NOT to be called regarding this vehicle that I have NOTHING to do with. But what happens? I continue to get calls. From other reps who say, "But this is the first time I'VE called you." I DON'T CARE! It is ILLEGAL to harass a third party after being asked repeatedly to stop calling for a debt that they're not even associated with! And the guy on the phone today tried to tell me the company is not in legal trouble for this activity...take a stroll around Google. It's all over the Internet.

Stop trying to say you're not bad people and blowing smoke up these people's a***s. You DO follow illegal practices and you DO continue to harass third parties even when you KNOW you're calling the wrong person. I'm a prime example. So stop spilling lies and start cleaning up your act before your company ends up being shut down by the FCC.

I am not using my real name as I worked for them. I worked for them for three days I quit after the training period because I did not believe in there practices.

The headquarters is 10670 North Central Expressway, Richardson, TX.(I cant remember the suite number its been over three months since I've been there)

Cliff McCray also operates different companies
Dartmouth Assets
McA Assets Group
Auto Traction Group
Widsor IP LLC

They are all Skip Tracing companies. They use online Media sources (facebook, twitter and such) as well as State and county information which is all public data some of which is VERY outdated.... VERY!!! I ran my name for kicks and it has my old number from 6 years ago.

If you get a call from them and do not know who they are looking for tell them " you do not know that person and have no association with them and they need to stop calling" You have to at least tell them once.. If they call back you need to tell them you will report them to your lawyer for violation of the FDCPA. You can also send a letter telling them to stop all contact..

Don't let them push  you around! I would not let them do it to me and I worked there..

Received several phone calls from a ms Davis looking for my sister or a way to contact her. Then proceeded to ask if I could give her names of people who could get her in contact with her. Very persistent and said she had a list of people to call. I suggested that she continue with the list. She wasn't very nice as the conversation went on.

The original number she gave me 877-295-7379 says no longer a working number and isn't the same one that showed up on caller ID of 469-484-5750.  She just said hello when I called didn't even say who she was.

I got a voicemail to call Ms Grady at 1 877 295 7376 (not the 469 484 5750 that came up on the caller ID)  The message said she was a "case worker" and she gave me a 7 digit "case number" to refer to when I called her back.  The message assured me that this was not in regard to debt collection or any think of that sort.  I called the number back that night and the recording stated I had reached The Windsor Group. The following day, I received another phone message from Ms. Grady, this time sounding less patient than the previous message.  I called back and spoke to her.  She mentioned a few names to me, none of which were in the least familiar.  I assured her that I didn't know any of the referenced individuals.  She thanked me and we hung up.  I don't expect to hear further.
