Its not the case.....when a payday loan place takes a check they know its not good.  They can try to take you to court.  It is civil.  Unless its a title loan then its different matter.  I bet you work for one of these companies

First of all what they are doing is illegal.  They are falsely identifying themselves as checksystems.  Check systems is a company that monitors bad checks and they do not call you they send out notices to contact your bank.  They have an office right here in Knoxville, TN.  When I call back it has a fast busy signal then disconnects.  The number they leave for you to call is no good.  Fake business.  Report to FTC.

they're horrible and not too bright. but most priceless set of calls: is one scammer telling me if I don't pay, I'll have to appear in Seattle/Tacoma Superior Court and other scammer stating Manhattan Civil Court. all I know is they've somehow stolen pieces of personal info, or for persons who have actually taken out a loan, your personal info is being sold/transferred around to other scammers for more scams because they know the loan was unlawful and their intent was to gouge like a loan shark which is why Attorney Generals across the nation have both sued and banned online payday lenders

and when you call back from same number they're calling you on, they then realize they have a valid number to attempt scam and start a search through some sort of system for personal info including relatives who are also harassed

wow, they're pretty dumb! they've called again today. I searched number, found this site and even found my own report hahahaha BUT I called them back from google/gmail's dialer LOL

but since never calling them back from number they're calling me on, AFTER originally threatening w/ criminal action if I didn't return their call, they're simply calling again LOL

but w/in same 5 minutes: 512-298-0898 (for 469-708-0070) and 713-533-8993 called stating same thing, both claiming different states for same company, a company that has already been sued by Attorney General for fraud.

Scammers/shady debt collection. They told me there was an unauthorized withdrawal from my account - my bank had no idea what this number was or what company. I returned the call using *67 and the guy who answered wouldn't tell me the name if the company until I told him my name/info. I said you called me you must know who I am, now who are you. He finally admitted he was trying to collect a debt. I have only one debt and it's on time do I know they're scamming.

ftcfan, I noticed you put Harriston and Harvey as the caller and, looking over these posts from the past year, some people entered Faulk and Stern. I'm sure this is a HUGE red light that these jack**es are scamming, huh? They're not even smart enough to keep the same number or change the number? Obviously, they know this site exists because they put "Jimmy" on here to let us know the courts are going to take our paychecks if we don't pay, so I guess they're getting a might sloppy now? Personally, I can't wait to see these idiots swing from the gallow's pole. I think I'll write letters to an inmate in each prison and tell them that they're in for child molesting so they can swing from their bunk by their "private body parts". HAHA!

Why are shills always illiterate? First off, CAPSLOCK is a d-bag move, second, did you run out of vowels in the middle of this "story"? You seem to be missing quite a few o's, and lastly, does your computer/phone/whatever have punctuation keys? Your fake rant is one stupid run-on sentence..
But, I will give you one piece of credit here, this is the most imaginative lie I've seen yet on these pages! The court took your whole check and took forever to give you back the remaining balance? YEAH, RIGHT!

call your local police! that will send them scrambling and running. these are scam artists that will immediately run away when law enforcement calls them. they're bold, stupid, ignorant while claiming to be a law firm. not one of them has a high school diploma between them. don't waste your time talking to them. *if you have to call them back to verify the scam*, call them back from Google/Gmail dialer -- do not confirm your telephone number as this also validates your info for identity theft later.

what they're doing is hiding in one location while spoofing numbers for another location. the fact that they won't give you their company name, address or even an operating license which is required to collect is a giant red-flag that they're frauds. if you've paid them anything you've just thrown away $$

also I have an evoice.com number, it's worth the $5.00/month & privacy to get it! even if you publish the evoice number publicly it gives you the option to listen to the message whenever instead of being called PLUS allows instant evidence of their fraud. the voicemail is immediately emailed to wherever you choose, including mobile device (iPad, phone, etc), even when traveling to other countries.

thus, these stupid idiots are leaving electronic messages which are instantly forwarded to an FTC and West Virginia Attorney General contact and then law enforcement across the country is then notified. the emailed voicemail will contain their voices, the scam threatening message which are consistent with voices from previous calls. these persons will be caught as they're running out of new fake phone number options. and the voicemail becomes evidence of their fraud, even if they claim to not be able to make outgoing calls. evoice captures location of call and as much details as possible.

I called Chex Systems personally and they reported that they NEVER withdraw funds from any ones accounts. Chex Systems is simply a system that is in place to allow banks to know if you have bounced checks in the past or have accounts in bad standing at other banks. These scammers need to get a LIFE and stop harassing innocent people.

These people are crazy. Bullies about sums it up, I don't know how they can sleep at night. I have offered to make small payments but they will not accept. Ridiculous! If they call you, get as much info as you can. If you remember the name of the payday loan company, contact them. You can then do your own investigation to figure out who now owns the debt. Sometimes it is sold multiple times so you might need to make a few calls. Once you know who owns it, you can file a formal complaint. You might even have a lawsuit. I would also suggest downloading an app that allowed you to record your phone conversations. Good luck and remember, they are nothing but bullies.

You are so full of it your breath stinks.  You are nothing but an illiterate shill on here trying to mislead people so you scam scam folks and their families,   Would you be Laverne or one of the other bottom feeders?

Who on earth would take advice from you?  You can't even complete a sentence.  You clearly work for this scam operation which is located in a maggot infested boiler room in Buffalo New York.

It's against the law for them to call and discuss any matters with other parties about your personal debt.   It is also against the law for them to threaten your mother that their daughter is going to jail if she doesn't at least pay them $100 right now.

It is against the law for them to call a family member constantly after they have been told to stop calling and then try to get my mom to give them her banking info or credit card number.

It is against the law for them to call and not be willing to provide any proof of the debt.

They do to even disclose the name if the business when they answer the phone.  They wanted my moms credit card info but wouldn't  provide her with their info.

I want to be able to file charges against this place because they are harassing my mom and will not stop.  They keep trying to come up with different ways to scam her and take advantage of someone echo is elderly,

Clearly they are breaking the law and trying to scam people and based on my search of this number they have been doing this too many people so I do not understand why something doesn't get done about this.    My mom called the number back so it wasn't just the number showing on her caller id.

I received the same type of call today and I contacted Chex System, my bank and the local sheriff and everyone said that this is against the law and not to call or give information. If this was legit you would get notice in the mail and NO ONE gets a heads up before they are served with a summons!! I hope this helps!!

These criminals are violating multiple federal and state laws, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. You should file a complaint against them with the Federal Trade Commission, and your state attorney general's office.

I also received a call from this number saying I owed this money from an online payday loan back in 2007. A lady by the name of Renee said if I didn't call them back and resolve this matter by a certain date a summons would be issued to me at my place of employment.I called a lawyer friend and he said it was a scam and if I had not received anything in the mail to ignore it. I had saved all the threating voice mails and if they continue I can pursue legal action.
