I have received the same call from "Heather" on my home phone.  Same message.  I have called the number back but only got to voicemail and left no message.  The VM voice seems to be the same.  I don't know anyone by this name who might have my home phone.  BEWARE!

I'm a financial advisor and assume she is a recruiter.  She left me a generic message to call her with no details.  When they don't say what they are calling for they are usually a recruiter - my experience.

Still Heather Gilbert. Rude to my boss. Lied saying she didn't call.  Unprofessional. Will report to the SEC...

i have rec'd a call from heather as well.  she is a recruiter and being in the finance industry for many years now, i have rec'd countless recruiting calls.  she has called me several times over the past few years and has always been very nice, professional, and to the point.  i appreciate her work and what they do.  she explained to me that she was not able to give me the names of the banks/wirehouses that she represents unless i was interested in making a change, at which she could tell me who she was working with.  i understand that, as if she were to tell who was hiring, anyone could go directly to that firm and cut out the recruiter.  i would not be worried that she has called and she also did tell me that she was sorry for not leaving a more detailed message the first time she called, but explained that an assistant might either think i was looking to change firms or just not relay the message to me.  recruiting is a big business and i am sure she is calling off a list looking for people to change.

She's back to "Heather Thompson" now. I received a call from her this morning for my financial advisor. She said she didn't work for a company, just had a couple of questions for the advisor. She denied anyone referred her to call my advisor.

Just got a voicemail from this "Heather Thompson" at my work # ... I was on another call and it looked like she called into my place of business on the published office phone number, then asked for me.  I work for a very large wirehouse (financial services firm) and I get a lot of recruiters calling in.  I don't mind if the recruiter will at least identify their company and the reason for the call, but obviously "Heather" (if that's even her real name) didn't identify her company.  For all I know she is just a low-paid assistant or part-timer dialing out for the hotsh*t recruiter.  Area code 469 is Texas, and she sure had a Texas twang!

Anyone else experience these calls?  The best is Frank Provenzano from Florida, he has called me literally a dozen times, and I have called back to tell them take me off their call list, to no avail.

The MSI Search Process
We appreciate that each search assignment we accept is unique. Ours is a service where the "cookie cutter" approach doesn't work. MSI's approach is one of building a strong business partnership with our clientele that emphasizes two fundamental values:
CLIENT FOCUSED CUSTOMIZATION
MUTUAL SHARED COMMITMENT
What does this mean?

Customization of our search process is on a per client/per position basis. Each one of the important factors below can and will be uniquely crafted to meet the needs of our clientele.

A. EVALUATION
Understanding our client's needs/culture/marketability (search assignment and search profile). Both parties determine the business relationship and financial commitment (search agreement).

B. SEARCH OUTLINE
Action steps initiating our thorough, targeted recruiting process including focused search teams.

C. CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Proven analysis of suitability and fit, augmented by customized specific qualifying tools (homework assignment and critical issue assessment).

D. PRESENTATION OF FINALISTS
Discussion of motivations/qualifications and scheduling of interviews.

E. BUSINESS MEETING PREPARATION & ANALYSIS
Thorough pre and post interview discussion of "the fit".

F. FINALIZATION
Critical steps to ensure successful completions.

Heather just now returned my call. I really do not see anything to be suspicious about. When she called, she said that she represented a couple of banks and investment wire houses that were looking for investment advisors who were looking to make a change and had production of at least $300,000 over the last couple of years. Her next question was, "Are you happy with LPL?" I told her that I was. She said, "Thank you and if that should ever change, please give me a call." I asked her the name of the company she represents. She said she could not reveal the names of the banks and wirehouses that she was recruiting for. (I understand that. Why would she do that? She would be giving away her business!!!) That was not what I meant. I meant the name of the company you are working for. "Oh" she said, "MSI". I said, "And what do the initials, MSI, stand for?" She said, "Management Search Incorporated."

Think about it. She is not going to leave much information on business voice mail. If she is calling a business number, she does not want your assistant to hear the message now does she?

I do not see a problem here.

Identification requirements - Persons making cold calls must provide the called party with the name of the caller, the person or organization on whose behalf the call is being made, and a telephone number and address at which the caller may be contacted

I copied and pasted the above statement directly from the SEC cold call regulation web-site. Heather did not identify the company she was calling on behalf. More on this after I have received a return call from Heather.

Heather Thompson called saying she is a recruiter. She called to discuss a couple of opportunities that have come up in my area. This call came in on my cell phone, which I use as my business line. I just called the number that she left. I got her voice mail. No problem. So far, I don't see any reason to be concerned. I have been contacted by head hunters in the past. I am sure she works from a purchased list of phone numbers. I will say that Heather did not say what company she was working for, which I believe may be a violation of the regulations for identifying yourself and your reason for calling within the first 10 or 15 seconds of a call. I can't remember exactly what the rules are. I will look that up.I will update my comments once I have gotten a return call from Heather.

Heather Gilbert called and left a message on my work line - number came from 469-713-3076.  When I called back, it rang once and then was told to leave a message.  Very strange.

I got a call from Heather Gilbert today but I was out of the office. The message I got was that it seemed like it was an important call. Not knowing who called, I returned the call and left a message. Haven't hear back yet.

Yes, Heather indicated it had been a while since we had talked, which is interesting as I have never spoken with her.  Didn't answer when I called.  Seems to be totally without value.  My number that she called was my mobile #.

I received this same message on my home phone.  I am suspicious of "financial executive" above.  Too bad you "hate to hear the other responses".  "Heather" leaves her message in a way calculated to give the impression that you have reason to know her when this is clearly not the case.  I feel sorry for anyone with a jealous wife who might get this call at home.  It all is just too "hinky" to be trusted especially if she is reluctant to state who she represents or what her purpose is in calling....

My experience with "Heather" was favorable and I hate to hear the other responses.  I appreciated the discreetness in her call with my assistant, and was made very aware of the reason for her call the minute I called her back.  Having been in the industry 16 years, I have never known of a recruiter to be open and upfront with my assistant as to the nature of their calls, but I do know "Heather" was courteous, professional, and to the point.

This "recruiter" posed as a caller with a personal interest in the financial services offered by my employer.  When I initially took the call, I asked what company she was with and she said she was not with a company.  I asked her if she was referred by someone and she said yes, by someone her husband works with named John.  She said she was calling for personal financial reasons.  Three lies, you're out.  When I called back to confront her, she indicated it was none of my business why she had called and hung up on me.  Not a good way to do business.
