Torri with a whinney voice, left vm stating that she had an important business matter for one of the owners.  Tried to bait me by saying in the middle of the vm they were a "international company."  Anyone not leaving some legit information is clearly a lead generator.  And those "business brokers" are selling you their services.... not selling your business. Seminars, consulting fees etc...  The packages I have seen are astronomicaly pricey. EBITA on this!

Call leaving a message that it was very important to call back but didn't leave the reason why. I dont return calls like this.

We've been receiving calls from Cathy at 469-828-2789. She is constantly trying to get the owners to attend a seminar about M&A. It's become a bit of a joke around our office. She assumes I am the receptionist and is pretty rude to me, she assumes wrong. We won't be doing business with them.

Got a call from Tori. No last name. Did not even give a company name. Glad we have caller ID.  Asked for my boss by name but couldn't even say our company name properly (nothing difficult, mind you).  All she would say is that she was "getting back with him on a personal business matter..."  Googled the number and found this site.

While it looks like a scam call, I've actually attended one of Generational Equity's seminars.  It wasn't bad.  They specialize in assisting in the sale of middle market businesses in the 1.5 to 50 million dollar gross revenue range.

The seminar was back in March 2012, and they blew my company off quick, due to its small size.  When I got a weird call on my cellphone from a Tory Smith, leaving no company name, I promptly pulled up the FCC's complaint form.  But then I got a landline call from her, and she reminded me of the seminar I'd been to a year ago. Till too small!

Just got the Call from Steve Shrader.  Guy has been calling every day for the last week.

Got a called from a scammer named Gia Pratt.  She said she was calling about "acquisitions".   We are in Indiana.

They leave messages for me. "Fed-up" from Jun3 7th above noted that they were interested in the Seafood business. I am in Manufacturing...hmm, doesn't sound even close.

Got call from a pushy, fast talking, nervous salesman about some business mergers or buyouts.
Did not sound trustworty.
Just fishing call.

Just received a call from Steve Shrader (no C in the last name as he went on and on about).  Same thing, caller ID shows 612-568-1899 but he left the number of 469-828-2838.  Said he wanted to talk to my boss(knew his name) about mergers and acquisitions.  Can you say scam???

Same thing here.  Called from 612-568-1899.  left a message like I knew them or something.  Doran was the name that was left.  Wanted a return call to 469-828-2843.

Message was from "Geocrat" (?) with Generational Equities and left a return number of 469-828-2843 but
caller i.d. said 612-568-1899, which is a Minneapolis area number. They've called numerous times before and ask for the CEO...but never by the name he actually uses!

I just got the same call... Generational Equity, says her name is Joan.  She wanted to first confirm that my boss was the only owner of the company (funny, if she knew anything about him that information shouldn't be needed by her), then she wanted to set up some sort of registration for a seminar for mergers and acquisitions.  I wouldn't let her through especially since the number she gave me was different that what showed up on my caller ID.

Touri (that's how she spelled her name to me) from Generational Equities called and asked for the owner by his first name.  Was told he was not here.  Has called a few times before.  As with Anne she was very vague with what she wanted except to say she was interested in the seafood industry (our line of business).  This is the number she gave me to call her but she actually called from another number   612-568-1899 .

Yes, Tori calling about sales mergers, etc.  She called during the day on the after-hours line, asked for the CEO by first name, then refused to give a message other than a vague one about mergers.  She was acting like she was his friend when it was just another sales call.  Stay away from a wolf in sheep's clothing!
