Hey John, thanks for posting that. As of three days ago I have been getting roughly 10 phone calls a day from people saying saying that I called them. My number is (My local area code)-581-5322, so when people in my area code get a missed call from that scam number they end up calling me back. It's getting bad now too because they are threatening me, when I have nothing to do with it.

Prank Call
Clear scammers from India - disgraceful.  Same old tricks to harm our people here.  Four time called since yesterday (including to cell phone).  No area code - most likely originating from India.

I just got a call as well.  I could tell that they were calling from a "Call Center" as I could here everyone talking in the background.  When I asked what country he was calling from he told me he was here.  When I kept asking his company name he kept saying Computer Technical Department.  When I asked him computer technical department for who, he got pissed off!
I asked how he got my name and number and how did I not know that this was a scam, he assured me it was not.  When I asked how he got my number he wouldn't say and said that when I have problems next year that I shouldn't call them.  I didn't call them in the first place.  Glad I google searched the number as soon as he hung up on me!

I got this call today, asking me by NAME, which is just mind boggling. I immediately noticed the scam and started to ask questions about how they know things about my system. After he realized i was not an Egg Planet, he immediately hung up, and never called again. I for one am furious at the fact that they KNEW who i was and had my phone number. I want to know how to remove my name from this registry so that I can never have this problem again.

I just received a call from this # a few minutes ago.. I like to mess with their minds, so I was saying a bunch of stuff to confuse him, some based on the comments that you all have posted here. I asked who he was calling for and when he said the name, I told him there was no "Sandra" here. He said "man, (curse word), what the hell is going on here?" and then hung up.

Next time I receive a call like this, I will start speaking in Spanish; considering their accents, they won't know how to respond.. and I'll make up another fake name.

This asshat calls me every day and says he doesn't have time to call me 20 times a day.  So, being the byatch I am, I told him I never asked for a call and then he hangs up and calls me back.  They've stopped calling the house and are now calling my cell phone.

If you gave them remote access I would make sure I had a different malware/antivirus run past it to remove what they left behind. The MO is to leave a bug behind so they can convince you that you need their services. About as safe as dropping your pants in a bar!

Rec'd call from person w/heavy Asian accent.  Claimed to be from MicroSoft and indicated that server is showing we have error messages that have been reported.  Further claimed that root cause of the error is a malware, adware or spyware program that he could he me remove.  Requested that I go to my computer and he would walk me through the process.  Asked him if I could call back b/c I didn't have time to do it right now.  He indicated only number he had was for those who had fixed the problem. He asked if there were a better time to call back and I said I will contact MicroSoft and verify this unsolicited call.  He indicated that I may do so and he would call back later.

Telemarketer
Recieved call from male with heavy accent, possibly Filipino.  Stated he was calling regarding problems and error messages with my computer which was false.  I explained I was at work and could not take call.  Stated he would call me back.  I asked him to not call me back, he became irrate and argumentative, even used some profanity when addressing me.  Obviously, a scam of some sort.

Telemarketer
Got a call from this number roughly 30 minutes ago while on my way home from work.  Could barely understand the guy.  Heavy accent.  When I told him I was fine and so was my computer, he immediately stated "I am not saying that there is anything wrong with  your computer," this is when I hit the end button.

When I get these types of calls, especially from those who claim to see that your computer is pinging everyone with malware, I let them know that unfortunately for me, I am being monitored by the FCC and local police for identity theft, and now unfortunately for them, so are they. I ask them to hold the line, as I need to get directions from the FBI agent in charge of the case. Usually as soon as I tell them I'm being monitored they hang up, but one time the guy stayed with me, while I had an imaginary conversation with the FBI agent in the room. I told the scammer that the FBI is asking for the callers name, company, and actual phone number (this particular guy had his caller ID blocked). The man with an indian accent got mad, and then got scared. I told him he was being tracked and was not allowed to hang up. He said he was hanging up. This happened about 4 or 5 times before he actually hung up. I don't know if he believed me, but it was more fun than just the annoying hang ups. I haven't gotten any of these calls for about a month. Today I got 2. I'm pretty sure it has to do with me applying for jobs. If I can't have fun, then I just block them. It's basically useless. These are all fake numbers from call centers overseas. They have as many phone numbers as they have callers. I just don't understand all the hangups. I guess it's hard to find good help in telemarketing from Indian these days.

I just got a call from this number. The person that answered, I swear if they WERE a telemarketer they weren't prepared or trained on what to do. -_- I said "hello" and all I heard was a bunch of people in the background that sounded like a busy call-center. Yeah....BLOCKED. I'm sick and tired of these calls from people that have nothing better to do than waste my time AND their own. -_-
