I'm sure Comcast isn't their only customer. At least I would think that they would have more customers than just one.

In my situation, I contacted the BBB over my charges and had enough of a case that Comcast agreed to drop the charges, stop the calls and clear anything that may have been reported on my credit. My 360 Mobile Security call blocker shows I haven't gotten a call from them since 01/06/2014 so that, hopefully, is that.

Received a call at 7 AM this morning. One ring, no message. Glad to see I'm not the only one.

Got a call from a similar number this morning: +47 35 20 97 40. Phone says its from Norway.  Did not call back. I suspect its a scam.

NEVER call back a foreign number if you don't recognize it.

Received call at 4:40a.m.   Left no message.  Woke me up.

Thank you so much for the information.... Very greatly appreciated. I have been following the Target scam and sometimes I  just can't help but to get paranoid with all the technological scams and hacks.

I don't think this has anything to do with the Target security breach.  Here is a different explanation:

Although certain specific area codes are mentioned in the article, it would be quite easy to generalize the scam to other countries in the Caribbean.

The latest crop of phone calls also seem to be slightly different from the scam being described in the article because the caller doesn't have any intention of talking to you.  All the scammer wants is that you get upset enough about the late night call that you return the call, never even noticing that it is from a foreign country outside the reach of US or Canadian laws.  When you return the call (at international rates), there is also a big surcharge to your phone bill that gets passed along to the scammer.

That's why either:
(1) you can't return the phone call, because even though you would otherwise be able to dial it like an ordinary long distance number, you phone company has a restriction on your placing international calls (which these are).  If so, consider yourself lucky.  Or,
(2) when you call back and get through, they keep you on hold for as long as possible to run up your phone bill and their profits.

The scammers don't have to be associated with recent security breaches.  All they have to do is randomly dial a lot of telephone numbers in already-assigned area codes.  And they must be dialing a LOT of them based on the complaints logged to 800notes.  It probably doesn't cost them anything to dial, either, if the called party (you) doesn't pick up the call before they hang up.  

It only takes a small percentage of angry and/or curious people calling back for them to make a lot of money.  They don't even have to pay for real people to operate a call center -- it's all done by machines, outside the reach of US and Canadian law enforcement.

I received a phone call from the same number this morning and the only connection that came to mind when I googled  this number and read everyones comments was the Target Security credit/debit card breach that happenned between November 27th and December 15th.... If you shopped at Target between these dates then your account information was compromised, that includes account information, phone number, address etc... From what I have seen on the news, this mafia will be testing the information they have stolen to create false accounts connected to your current accounts. I shopped at Target during that week and I have contacted my bank and credit card services and they say they have a handle on the situation. But I have chosen to cancel my cards and have new ones issued. Please contact your bank, credit cards etc... If you haven't done so. I am reporting this number to the authorities, I advice you do the same.

It's the phone number of a distribution company located in Norway. I received a call a few minutes ago and traced call.

I've gotten several calls through out the past couple of days from this number. Rings twice and hangs up. Never been a Comcast customer not do I have any reason for a collector to be calling me.

rec'd call @11:30pm from 473-520-9760..then another @4:30am from 520-9797 and then again @3:00pm from 520-9796
all one ring calls..left no message

Got a call both on my cell phone and wife's cell phone today at 4:05 from Grenada. We just downgraded our Charter services this week. Coincidence?

I've gotten a couple calls and quick hang ups from this number. I called it back this last time, and I think it's a service where they charge you when you call. My guess is that they're calling numbers and hanging up, so that when you call back, they get your money for it.

They got me just now. Call the number and listen to the end of the music and you can faintly hear "russianish" dialog. First time they've called so I'm not annoyed yet just curious. Pretty cool  music though. Please wait for the operate. :-)

I received a missed call at 10:43 PM Saturday December 14. Obviously, I'm not the only one getting calls from this number at an absolutely inappropriate time. I'd like to know who this is. If this is a collector, this is harassment.

Never have been a Comcast customer and have been getting calls on both my and my husbands cells at all times of the day from Granada.  No clue why they're calling and they don't let the phone ring more than once anyway.  Not sure who to call to get this nonsense to stop.

I believe this is a debt collector used by Comcast. I was getting no relief over bad service. I was supposed to get a call back from a supervisor within 24 hours. I never got a call. I took back my modem and digital cable box but there was a balance left on my account. I've gotten letters from Credit Protection Association L.P. A Nationwide Collections Company, asking me to make payment to PayPal.com. It is the ONLY outstanding debt I have. I hate Comcast.
