Got a very enticing call from them today.  Fellow's name was Donald Wilkins.  He explained the service to me and their rates.  Seemed appealing as a concept.  Then he told me they get 100 thousand visitors a month to their site (union members lloking for local services in their area).  Wow, I thought and I immediately plugged their website url into Alexa.com to validate the claim (that's the beauty of the internet now, you can find anything if you know where to look).  Turns out this site only has 2 sites linking in to it (a Backpages.com ad and an article) and their traffic is so low, it doesn't even make the Alexa radar...So, so much for 100 thousand visits a month!  Too bad really, the concept seemed good enough.  Unfortunately there are no unions sending their members to this site so paying them to post your ad is pretty much the same as spending that money on a lottery ticket...

I got scammed for last year for a couple of hundred by a scammer like this.  I'm grateful for this website, since I am a bit more trusting than I should be - even though I'm in a business where I deal with a lot of liars.  With experience, I'm getting better at spotting the scams - and this guy "Dave Laffler(?)" just left a message from this number (I was on another call).  DON"T GET SUCKED IN. Like bobthedog, I've learned this the hard way.

Here's the deal.  I dealt with a similar group in san diego.  Conartists!!!  They say they have a website that offers services to union members.  I am a financial advisor and I paid them money to list with them.  They never list you and the union halls they are affiliated with say they never market the list of advertisers.  It is something these guys say will be put up at all of the union halls.  It is some sort of SCAM like that.  Terrible, but true.  Con artists...I don't even need to call them back.  I know this scam.
ALU....never heard of it.

Telemarketer
Perhaps the positive reviews for this company are being written by themselves.  I rarely see positive remarks on this website. This is where we tell each other whose annoying us by calling us from unrecognizable phone numbers.   If we were looking for something positive we'd be on another website.  So ALU stop bothering us.  You're scam artists.

This guy called asking if we had Public Notaries which tells me he knows nothing about my business.   The title is Notary Public and I am a SWORN and Commissioned Civil Servant of the State of California. We don't offer deals or align ourselves with anyone.  We're independent civil servants. Not sure what part of this he didn't get. He kept trying to get me to offer my services to our Firefighters and Police Officers.   That's what the phone book is for.  We don't align ourselves with anyone.   I told this clown if he's trying to sell me something I'm not interested.  If he needs a document notarized I can help him.  The guy just kept pressing to list me as their exclusive Notary.

Again I said I cannot align myself with your company.  This conversation is over and I hung up on him.  I'm not a service that offers repairs or a retail establishment.  This moron needs to do his homework.  Maybe he should call the police to see if they'd like advertise with their company.  And then get arrested.  Works for me.

Hang up or don't answer if you see the phone number 480-302-5157.

I received a call from John Lambert representing them.  He also mentioned about 4 Financial Services they were looking to work with in my area....but 3 out of the 4 were just taken today.  He mentioned $199 per year cost.  Most union is looking for qualified companies that their members can take advantage of and do not charge anything.  It looks like a SCAM!

This a** Steve Wilson called our office from this number and said he was from "American Laborers United". He became incredibly rude when I asked for more information and I ended up hanging up on him.

I'm not sure you have a very good grasp on who union members are! I am a teacher at a local high school and use these services myself. They are very helpful. I also take fitness classes and go to a gym that I found on their website. The people at that facility DO seem to understand union members and it was probably the only gym I've ever been to where I did NOT feel like they were trying to sell me some fitness package. Seems as though they have a pretty effective way of keeping gyms like yours off their network.

Steve Wilson called me from this number (even though I'm on the no call list) and said that he had been referred to me as an attorney in this geographic area, to possibly do work for union members.  Then he asked me what kind of law I practice - even though the kind of law that I practice is right there in the name of my law firm!  I asked who referred him. He said he works with over 2200 companies.  I said that it sounded like computer generated marketing that brought him to call me.  He said, "It's all marketing.  You know what, have a nice day" in a rather rude way and hung up.  But hey, at least he didn't waste any more of my time.

Can you imagine, calling an attorney saying, "I was referred to you.  I can't say from whom.  What kind of law do you practice?" even though it's right there in the name of law firm?  That screams, "I'm a dishonest sleazeball.  I wasn't really referred to you, I actually bought your phone number from a telemarketing list and I'm going to try to sell you something, and I'm happy to violate the federal do not call law because I'll make more money by breaking the law."

The people who have posted positive notes above sound to me like they're all Steve or connected with Steve.  Otherwise they would say something like telling us the company that they own and exactly how these Steve Wilson character has sold them anything that does them any good.  Instead, every time it's "Steve's a great guy and his service is great" with no specifics of any sort.  That stinks to me.  If Steve falsely tells you that he was "referred" to you, and he's happy to call people on the do not call registry, do you think he is above posting false positive reviews of himself?

We also received a call from this number, but the name was Allen Rippee.  He was very nice and professional.  He explained that he was looking for 4 auto repair businesses in the area to refer union members to on their website.  Allen was up front about the $199 for one year when I asked.

We are wondering if it is a scam as well.  I tried looking them up on the Better Business Bureau website and to date they have no complaints against them.  Has anyone that has posted here actually payed the $199?  If so, are you receiving referrals from the union?

Thanks for any information.

We have been recieving repeated calls from this company.  Callers name is Susan, who left a call back number 480-302-2157 x101. The caller stated she would like to refer patients to us, but said she was not from another doctors office.  My staff member gave me the messege.  In researching the number and the website, it appears this is a telemarketer at best and a scam at worse.  I would recommend you stay away.

This guy (Steve Wilson) called our office twice. The first time he said he was a friend of my boss (a doctor). When my boss called him back he hung up on him because it was clearly a sales call. My boss was pissed and said that nobody should lie and hung up.
THEN, weeks later, he called the office claiming to have a question about homeopathy. This is definitely a sales call, and STEVE WILSON is a LIAR.

Got a call from Steve Wilson looking for my boss (an attorney).  He called my boss by his first name like they were old high school pals.  I asked him what it was in regards to and he said he was looking for representation for Union employees and their families in the area.  I asked him if this was one of those numerous services that we get solicited by who offer referral services for a subscription fee.  He said, "can I just talk to him so I can explain our services and what we do?"  (I noted a wee bit of frustration on his part.  Bad day, Mr. Wilson?)  I again asked him if their service required a subscription and he hung up on me.

These guys really seem to know what they are doing. If you take the time to speak with someone who knows what they are talking about, I think you will agree. Granted they are a very new company pushing a very new program, but they do not beat you over the head for money, their graphic team is easy to work with, and they guarantee you will make back your investment. for $199 for an entire year...what do I have to loose? And if it can help get into unions, even better!
