I called the number back (wasn't home when they called) and found out it is a clearing house for multiple companies--any of 85 companies could call through this number.

Caution, 480-420-3705 is a "spoofed" number, which means that whoever called you "tricked" your caller ID to display an incorrect phone number. Telemarketers do this so you cannot complain,
Report them everytime they call, whatever number they use! FCC consumer complaints are located here: http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm

This number called our work phone today. Left no message. Tried calling back and sent me straight to an automated voice messaging system. Very strange.

Also received call...no message left.

I was expecting a call from this area code so I went to pick up the call even though there was no name on it, but my answering machine kicked in first. By the time the answering machine disconnected, caller had hung up. Too bad when they came up with the do-not-call list, they didn't put some penalties in the law for abusing it.

Person calling claimed to be from Tempe, AZ selling some sort of energy efficient products.
Would not give name of company.
Calls from this number are various scams.
Don't trust these predators.

Yes! I put my numbers on the "Do Not Call" registry and I am getting tons of calls, nights, early mornings, weekends! I feel like I am being terrorized and want to cancel my phone service! There isn't even an option on this number to try to remove my phone number from their list, or speak to a live idiot!
Melissa 2012-12-06 17:25:43 Unknown
Called from (480) 420-3705. Tried to call back to have my number removed, got a recording that said, "person at extension 0-0-0 is not available. Please leave your message. Stupid. My number has been on the "Do Not Call" list for at least a year, and lately, I have received tons of calls from solicitors! I haven't put my number out anywhere!

Received a non-answered call on 11/01/2011 at 12:50:06 PM. Apparently being on the DO NOT CALL Registry means nothing.

Just got a call from this number, was a polite male who told me I had won a gay cruise. I said I wasn't gay and he told me "Try it you'll like it" and hung up.
Paul 2011-11-02 20:03:57 Unknown
Just called - no message. Ugh.
Kenny 2011-11-02 18:25:38 Unknown
Royal Caribbean Cruise line offer. Don't know how they got my number but as one person stated it might be Apple Vacations, which I went on a vacation with 7 years ago. I still have the same number from 7 yr ago too

Just got a call from them, also. Said I won a free cruise and would only be good for today but had 18 months to go on the cruise all I would have to pay for was the tax which was 98$ per person and could pick between a few different cruise lines. I asked how they got my number if I filled something out in the past and they said thats how they got them, and that my number was at the top of the list. And I also asked if there was a website where I could fill my credit card info out and they said no you would have to do it over the phone. Total scam, do not take part.

Got the call at 8:44pm, pressed 1 and got "Lisa" on the line. She started her spiel about the cruise, I stopped her and asked if I'd ever done business with em in the past, she said no, so I asked if they were a " for profit" company, that confused here a bit, but she said yes. So I started to tell her they we in violation of the do not call list, and she hung up on me. How rude! :-). I called back and left a message that I was speaking to Lisa and she hung up on me...then said why. Don't think it will make a difference, but it felt good to tell them I was filing a report with the FTC, and the DNC registry.

Called my cell phone at 9:48 pm mountain time! Did not leave a message! I do not know anyone from Phoenix!
AB 2011-11-02 03:35:11 Unknown
I think the same thing. Someone must register the number, even if temporarily, with some form of identification. I guess the deal is if it's being done overseas, there isn't much the FCC can do about it.
I think fixing thesupply side of this equation (that is, getting rid of the callers) is going to be tough. What needs to happen is to reduce the DEMAND side of the equation so it's not worth the trouble to set up these dummy lines with forwarding etc. So, people need to stop allowing these f**** to make any money. Once that dries up, they will move on to some other scam like credit card fraud or just tossing your house when you're at work. That I can solve with a 12guage blast to the head at least.
Bobo 2011-11-02 03:31:14 Telemarketer
I don't answer these random calls. It doesn't cost me anything that theyr'e calling but it does waste my f****ng time to look up and see who it is. Unfortunately, with Verizon I don't have a simple way to block an indefinite number of calls with a simple push of a button. I can, and have, gone to their website and blocked 5 numbers (the limit). But, what would put a quick end to this is to allow you to block an entire area code + prefix. There are just so many numbers these scammers can use. F****ng annoying.

They called me on my cell phone at 8:24 pm Pacific time. Same deal as everyone else got. I didn't answer it and they didn't leave a message so I called it back. First time I got a bunch of static noise that sounded like I was listening in on someone's CB radio conversation and the second time I got some recording of a lady who sounded like she hailed from Wisconsin telling me I won a cruise with Carnival or Royal Carribean. It said if you didn't want to continue receiving calls from them to press two - which I did. But I am already on the national DNC registry and the static issue makes me think it comes from a dumby re-routed number to block their identity. If it was a legitimate business like a hospital that has one output line, I wouldn't have got all the static from such a crappy connection. I am going to report them with the FCC because it needs to be brought to their attention. And if anyone actually got asked about their personal credit card info, definitely report them.

I would like to know why the police or phone companies (?) cannot do something about calls like this, they are happening regularly to almost everyone I know, same scenarios, always scams. Nothing is ever done about it......why can't Qwest or other local phone companies just trace the line and arrest someone??? It can't be THAT difficult
Linda 2011-11-02 02:42:06 Unknown
I placed our numbers on the DNC and since then we receive calls pretty regularly, home and cell. Its almost like a flag was raised saying CALL ME PLEASE.
