has to be a scam.  Guy called saying his name was Kevin Smith, identification number 30111.   English accent sounded Indian. Told me I had won a $1,000 shopping spree and a global calling card. All I have to do is pay the $1.95 shipping and handling fee when it arrives.  Then he wanted my credit card # so I gave him a made up number. Then the call was routed to the "verification unit".   Here a guy named "Fred" took the call (also with accent). He wanted to take the number again to verify it. He would not give me a phone number to call them back on, so I told he he sounded like a crook. I was not able to reach anyone calling them on the # on my caller ID, 480-543-1324.

If this is the same company that had just called me (and it sounds like it is) they are now calling themselves Dynamic Business Associates. I too got a phone call from an Indian woman telling me that I had won $1000 shopping spree and $300 in grocery coupons. All I had to do was pay the $7.50 (I guess it went up)in shipping and handling fees. Their  number came up on my cell phone as only 4 digits-1406 one time and then 1300 and something the second. They claim to be business partners with Walmart and JC Penny. Hope this helps...

it's not just your appartment complex.  They stole some company's calling list for advertisements and are trying to scam people out of credit cards.

They've always had a 480 area code (scottsdale AZ area), however, this is likely a voip setup that lets them get virtually free calls.  When they first started calling, they claimed to be based in LA (or whatever major city is near the target from the call list), when i laughed and said he was lying, he said he had no idea what i was talking about.  A month or two later, they finally figured out that their phone # is based in AZ, and now they tell people this.

Lately theyve been calling themselves "Promotions Company Ltd."  I said he was lying, he said no, i googled it and told him his company doesn't exist., Then i asked what professional organizations his company belongs to... he said BBB, i said he's lying (after checking the BBB site real quick).  He finally gave up.

I've gotten these calls many times, and it's always the same guy's voice, with the same "receptionist" woman.   I think it's a man and his wife/partner trying to run this. Once i told him i recognized his voice, he feigned ignorance, when i told him his last name that he claimed, he hung up.

Lately i've taken to just picking on this retard.

Honestly i think the feds should be involved, because this is an Interstate, or possibly intercontinental scam/fraud attempt.  Unfortunately from what i can tell, people's attempts at getting the feds or other police invovled is for naught.

I was getting mad when these idiots called me and demanded they never call again.   But they still do.  Then I got smart.  When they call I tell them I am interested in what they have to say, but ask if they can hang on a minute.  Then I set the receiver down.   I check back every 30 seconds to a minute and ask them if they can dont mind holding, I am extremely interested and ask them if they dont mind holding just a couple more seconds....HA!  You have to try this...it is hilarious!
I now truly look forward to their calls.  I have even gotten to the point where they ask for credit card information...and I rattle off three numbers and tell them I dont have my glasses so please be patient with me...HA!
It has become a challenge to see how long I can keep them on the phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Funny as heck...you have to try it!!!
Also, I believe they have targeted my apt complex because it is mostly older retired folks who are more vulnerable to this type of fraud.
HAVE FUN !!!

They called me this afternoon.  He told me I'd won $25 in gas cards.  I told him that it was an amazing coincidence since I was just about to call him to let him know he'd won the same thng from me so lets just each keep ours and we're even.

He didn't know what to say.

480-543-1323 called my cell. I did not answer (if I don't recognize the # I do not answer) no one left a message. I Googled the # & saw complaints here, as well as on other sites to report calls like this.
If it was an honest company, giving "awards" like they're claiming to some people, they would be able to provide a call back name, number, mailing address, etc.
Scary thing is, I DID win a HUGE prize years ago from a contest & I honestly didn't believe the person who contacted me was on the up & up because of stuff like this! (When they were able to e-mail & fax me forms to notarize & fill out, as well as give me contact info, etc, I found out they WERE real.) But I almost lost out on a big prize! (You get so discouraged because of junk like this, you know?)

I've tried to file a complaint with the police, but they said they don't deal with stuff like this.  The police gave me the # to the "do not call" registry, but that won't do me any good because i wasn't registered before (i just registered today).  The number has called me 4 times today (not to mention about a dozen other times this week).  Each time i answer, i tell them to take me off their calling list, but it doesn't happen.  They call from four different numbers (1323, 1325, 1327, 1328).   Last night the 1323 number called and i stopped him from talking and said, "i've told your company 7 times to stop calling me.  WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO GET YOU TO STOP CALLING ME?"  He replied, "give me your credit card number."  I laughed, told him it wasn't going to happen and hung up.  That same number has called me 3 times today and the 1327 called me once too.  I'm so fed up! It has to be harassment, but there isn't anything i can do about it.  I called the FBI and left a message, but i doubt they will be able to do anything about it either.  I feel so helpless.  It is really starting to stress me out.  I know they can't do anything if i don't answer, but just knowing that such a persistent, rude person is waiting on the other end makes me very uncomfortable.  Who can help with this situation?  Where can i turn!?  I'm pregnant, so i know my emotions are higher than normal, but i just feel like crying about it.

these people sound as if they are from india.  a lady calls me telling me i've won a free 1000 dollar gift certifcate for a shopping spree to any store. (walmart, jcpenny, homedepot, where ever) they also offer a phone card for 14 days to make international calls. she then transfers me to a man that tells me to give him my credit card number to pay for shippin $1.95. i'm thinking they should take payment from the 1000 dollars they are giving me.  any who i go on line and google in there number and i find a lot of complaints for this number and also find that they are under investigation for what they are doing. so me being inquizitve i ask the man that im transferred to if he knew his company was under investigation he tells me yes. then proceeds to ask if i want the shopping spree + etc. i said to him what do you think and hung up.

These people have been stalking my phone for about 3 days, during which time I've received 16 calls. I left an angry message w/ my # requesting that they remove me from their list, (you know as a joke, knowing full well that they'll probably just sell it to someone else.) -1322 -1323 -1324  -1325 etc. Someone needs to shut these people down because this is not marketing, it's harassment.

THIS CALL LIKE MANY OTHERS, SEEM TO BE GENERATED BY AUTO-DIALERS OR SOME TYPE OF MACHINE, THE PROBLEM IS THAT UNLIKE HOME PHONE NUMBERS, BUSINESSES,EVEN SMALL BUSINESSES CANNOT USE THE DO NOT CALL LIST IN MOST STATES.

this is a telemarketing company. they say they are a shipping & handling company in association with wal-mart department stores. they are offering a free $25.00 gas gift card and a $25.00 wal-mart gift card package. with no obligation other than paying a $1.95 shipping and handling fee when the package arrives.  they ask you to verify the expiration date on your visa card and then your account number. but says you can go to wal-mart to pay the $1.95 or send it to them after the package arrives.  so why do they need your credit card number?  I checked with wal-mart representatives about this company, in which they have never heard of them.  so be ware of this phone call and let them know complaints are out on them.

Yep, same here...The morons picked up one time when I called them back and told me they were transferring me to their 'specialist'... seemed like they just left the phone off the hook though. Very annoying, pests like these need to go to jail.
