They call my cell phone and when I call back they didn't want to tell what was about.

If you get a call from Ray it is easy to get him to stop calling.  Here is my short, successful story.

The first time he called me he accused me of owing thousands of dollars from a car acident. I freaked because I was so surprised to get such a call out of the blue.  I knew I didn't owe anyone any money.  He threatened me with collections if I didn't pay up.  After that phone call I decided to "Google" his name.  I found this site.  Ah ha!  What he was saying to me over the phone sounded like a scam, and sure enough, this site confirmed in my mind that it was!

Well, he just called me again.  I told him that I checked him out.  I told him I knew that he is running a scam and that he never needs to call me again.  All he said was, "um...um...,".  Click.  He hung up on me.  Now I wish I would have strung him along for a few weeks.

If you have a legitimate collection item with someone that is a different story,  But this guy does not appear to be on the up-and-up.  I recommend that you don't wast your time with him.  Don't try to have a conversation with him, don't bother arguing or goodness don't pay for a lawyer.  Just tell him that you checked him out, you know he is a FRAUD and not to call you again. Then go on and enjoy your life!! :)  

They call and leave messages looking for Scott saying its about his license and the caller is Ray Cortez. I called them back, a guy answered I read off my number and said do not call again. He said is this Scott, I said no and your name is not Ray Cortez either, I looked up your number and as stated at the beginning of the call "Do Not Call This Number Again". He tried to say some crap about if this wasnt Scott why did you look up the number and not being the way to handle things, I then said "I Told You Not To Call Again, If You Do I Will Report You To The FTC, Bye" and hung up. I dont know who had this number before us but man the bill collectors and telemarketers call constantly. I am ready to just turn off our phone. We are on the Do Not Call List but it does no good.

what happened?? cause I am having the same thing said I was in an accident and I owe 1800

they are also calling me on a supposed damage to a uhaul....but i never damaged the uhaul....i cleared this mess up over a year ago and now they started calling me a week ago they call every 2 days and i keep telling them to stop calling me..today the rep told me " you think thats going to stop us?" i guess it's time to contact a lawyer

Severe telephonic harassment. Keeps calling me threatening to suspend my license over something my 27 year old son was allegedly involved in.

well i get 3 calls a day never leaving a message. todays calls were back to back... seriously... i dont answer calls,that arent in my phone. Perhaps we should all facebook ray, and share some love...lol

I've been receiving a number of calls on a daily basis from this number.  They are a Collection Agency...I have a past due balance on a medical bill that I have been unable to pay off.  Hence the name "RECOVERY" Partners.

But you owe the $ right?  Why cause so many problems, just call and clear your name and quit looking over your shoulder.  mw

Vulgar and rude language toward customer, threats to the customers...Asked for documantions and was told he would have my credit destroyedf and have the police come after me.

I am being harassed by this phone number this is a business phone I have told these people not to call me and they have been calling me over and over again please I would report you guys if you guys keep on calling me please tell them to not call me again

Just got message from a 'Richard Sorenson' , asking us to call back @ 866 661 5603, with a "case number".  I'm always a bit suspicious of calls like this, and thankfully with a bit of diligence, I found this webpage.  Don't think I'll be calling back, given that I can't find legit RP Solutions with these #s, nor an employee by that name.

Genius......have you thought about the fact he can't release personal information. Simply tell him you dont now who he is looking for.

It is not legal for them to call anyone other than you for a debit!!! They can BE SUED!!!! I was told this by a lawyer..

I am glad I found this information.  I am not sure if the debt they are trying to collect is valid or not since I did business with the company 2 years ago and this is the first I have heard of owing them.  I had thought that everything had been settled.  This company has been trying to contact me for over 3 months.  They did send me something via mail and I sent a response disputing the debt.  Having previous worked in a dispute management department, I know that if they receive a dispute they are required to verify the debt with the company and provide proof of the debt.  I never received a response from them.  After that I continuously got calls from the 480 number listed and I never answered it until one day when I was available to talk.  When the representative identified herself I explained that I was disputing this and at first she said she didn't have anything about a dispute.  Then, she said she did have the dispute and had to check to see how to handle it.  She asked me to hold on and then never came back on the line.  After 7 mins of silence I hung up.  I didn't hear anything more for a couple of weeks and then I started receiving calls from the 866 number.  The first day they left a message with their company name and an account number but didn't reference the debt.  The next day they called and I answered and received the recorded message somebody else mentioned.  I pressed 1 as I was prompted and proceeded to spend 5 mins on hold before I hung up.  The next day I started getting calls from the 480 number again.  

Today, I called the 866 number and talked to somebody and again explained that I sent a dispute.  He told me he had the dispute, but it was invalid.  I asked if I could get documentation of this and he said that it would take a couple of weeks, but he could get me documentation.  In the meantime, he said he would put my account into a pending status.  We will see what happens.  If this is a scam then I suspect that this is the end of it.  

It still seems strange to me that they are using this type of constant calling in order to collect, but never make any further attempt to contact me by mail.  I have never had a company do this before.  The initial letter I sent stated that if I didn't respond within 30 days it would be turned over to a collection agency, so I would think they would have already done so if this is valid.

Ray Cortez has called the people i Lived with and was telling them we owed "him" 7000 dollars. He also said we would be sued in 24 hours if we did not pay in full. We are college students and could never dream of coming up with that much money over night. He calls all of us and yells when we ask him for some form of documentation. He pushes us to give him our bank account numbers and credit card numbers over the phone. When we say we would like to see some form of a reason to why we owe "him" money he says he is not allowed to disclose any information about any thing until he can trust us to send him the 7000. Not sure what do do other than to give him my lawyers phone number. Hearing the word lawyer made him freak out and he continued to tell me that I was being to vague. That was ten minutes ago and we will see what happens. How do these fools get our numbers? What do we need to do to get them to leave us alone. At first we were really nervous and now we are just pissed off!

I just got a call from this same guy. He stated his name was Ray Cortez from 480-747-9856 saying that I owed some sort of debt from a car accident over a car that I sold last summer. He told me the same thing that my license had been revoked. I had a canary! I told him that if there was a car accident and the car was still registered in my name that perhaps I needed to call the police department and report it stolen! I then called the police in both Santa Fe and Albuquerque trying to figure out what was going on! But, he had given me bogus case numbers! Then I called him back and left a message assuring him that I was going to report him to the proper authorities! I called the police department and told them about the call! He told me that he was representing Farmer's Insurance. But, when I called the number again his answering service says RP Solutions. I told the police about it they said I could report the harassing phone call. I intend on doing so. Please contact my email address if you have any further information on this man!

I got a call at 7:30 this morning.  Left a message to call me back saying they've called several other numbers of mine (??) and won't stop calling until I return their call.  The message was rude, short and I will not call back.  I worked in collections at a law firm, on the legal side...bring it on people.

Just got a call too. Sounded suspicious and we are talking to the insurance fraud department.
Just had an idea .... let's all file through the same department and it might get better response.

Today, a Ray Cortez from 480-747-9856 called for my son saying he was from  RP Solutions representing some insurance company we've never done business with.  He said that his license was going to be revoked.  Of course, I already read the comments posted here and other scam info. websites and made sure to give him as obnoxious call back as he sent me.  My son is not affiliated with my cell phone number, and he doesn't live at the address this Cortez dude stated.  He has been calling on my home and cell phone.  My son is an adult, but he doesn't share our numbers.  I'm thinking he got it off of some stolen information from when he lived at home.  I reported the number to the do not call list, and I'm reporting it elsewhere.  I've contacted the police department (relatives are officers) and will not stop there.  This is just annoying as can be!

Reply to Layla: Identical scenario happened to me today. Tom Murphy requested my policy# and insurance phone number for an accident in december 07. I am completely perplexed how they obtained my information.
Could these be security questions asked when opening a credit line or loan?

They have been calling my mother, looking for MY husband.  They say we owe money for damage done when we rented a UHaul.  The UHaul was broke into and we filed a police report which we gave to UHaul.  They don't seem to have any actual facts regarding the debt or us.  The debt is bogus.  However, the harrassment is not.  I have received calls from the Tempe and Scottsdale number and have made a report with the Arizona branch of the FBI, since they are crossing state lines and using the phone lines for their crimes.  I called them back and informed them that I knew what they really were and the guy laughed and hung up on me.  If they call again, I am going to conference call them in to the the guy at the FBI I have been dealing with, then it won't be heresay.

Many of the calls were like DJ'S. In the beginning the calls were coming from RP Solutions in Ithaca, NY from a toll free #. They would leave an incomplete message, never identifying themselves, just to call Candance with part of a ref.#, sounded very unprofessional so I never called back. Eventually I did checkout the Ph# to find out it was a collection agency. I knew I didn't have anything outstanding & have never had any experience w/ collection agencies (heard many stories-which I now know were true)I also figured it was a Scam. Until months later I answered a call to hear "if this is so & so press 1 etc. I did, feeling very uneasy not knowing what kind of Scam it was, then I was put on hold listening to music, after a little time I hung up figuring a reputable Co. would call back & apologize, that didn't happen so again I figured it was a Scam. Then, last week I answered a call from the above local # on my cell(which I only use for emergencies, family, close friends & Drs. - only people I choose have this #)Needless to say I was taken aback to hear a very nasty male on the other end asking "how much are you going to pay today - this has been going on long enough" I said "what is this in reference too? Is that how you start a conversation?" He hung up!The above # is for Recovery Partners in Scottsdale, AZ Their web site actually mentions Honesty & Integrity! All this occurred because a Health Care Provider did not file claims with Insurance Co in a timely manner so the provider decided to bill me instead. Can Not Be Done!

Mike of "recovery partners" has to be the rudest employee of all time! Not only does is he think he can be the power in the conversation he also misses clues to help him accomplish his agenda. I will not forward his message to anyone and tried to tell him where he could find who he was looking for. Too bad mike. Anyone receiving calls from recovery partners I.E. Mike - call him back at 11 am till 3 pm Tuesday thru Thursday.  480-747-9849 perhaps we all can do so and end mike's power play. (tie up his message box, phone line) I am sick of this guy calling my number - it used to belong to someone else.

I also got calls yesterday from the same ph# and than today from 514-626-7564 which I see is the same company. They never have left a message and I too do not answer calls I dont know. If I owe something.. they have my address. I only mail payments when I have proof in writing.

Have been receiving calls from this number for over a yr, about twice a month. Person I originally talked to was a "Tom Evans".... couple of days ago, was a female on my voicemail. They keep calling a tracfone that I have, which isn't connected to my name in anyway.... glad I found this site, as I had no idea who they were, still don't.
