Political company recording - on my cell!!!  I hate getting calls from these things!

A few things to remember:

1) The best scenario is to answer the phone, and set it down on the table.  Don't waste a second of your time listening or trying to hit some number to be removed.  Just let the message roll.  Trust me, they won't listen to your request to stop calling, but if we ALL burn up their phone line minutes by letting their message run full-course, they will feel it, as it quickly ties up their lines to make more calls.

2) If it is a live person, be extremely polite and tell them that you would "love to help them, but just cannot at this time" and offer to call them back... Now at this point you are in control of the conversation, and can begin to ask them questions that they normally wouldn't answer, like what company they are with, where are they based, etc.  I have used this technique and actually been told real names of others in their organization which can be included in a report to donotcall.gov.  

3) When I'm in a feisty mood, one of my personal favorites is simply to act like I'm half deaf and cannot hear them. After about a minute of "Huh?... What? ... Who again?" and phrases like that, they are more likely to hang up and actually delete your number.

Finally, if they know you are irritated by the calls, they WILL continue to call, so the real key is either make it so that you smother them with kindness to get them to drop their guard and divulge information, (which you can use ina report to the FTC), or to make it so inconvenient for them to call your number that they will remove it.

Spam, fraud, garbage call

This number and another similiar number keep calling both my husband and my cellphones.

It is from Political Opinoin of America.  It says it will takes me a little time and win a cruise to Bahamas for two.  I hung up.  Just one mitute later, my cell phone rings.  It is from the same number.  I did not pick up the call.  I am suprised since I hardly give both my home number and cell number to people.  Usually only to the doctors.  I definately never gave both numbers to any charity or political organization.

Did not answer.

Just got a call from this number. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.

Called the# b  ack and it was a political survey. I asked to have my # removed from their list.

Just like some of u, I simply didn't answer.

Some cell phones have a 'block caller' or 'blacklist' that will send the call directly to voice mail.

Pls stop calling my telephone #.  I am on the do not call list - why doesn't it work.

Something is wrong with the DO NOT CALL Registry.
Seems they are letting annoying calls go through instead of stopping those unwanted annoying callers.
It is ALL a scam to get your personal info.
Some freakin' idiot started doing those annoying calls, and leaves no messages.
Complain to your phone carrier.
They have to do something when they get enough complaints.
Why are we paying forthoseidiots that keeprining ourphones??

BTW - do you get the idiots that random text your phones too??

Stupid political call from some A$$hole

They called twice in a row, trying to get us to pick up

Called about an hour ago.  I didn't answer and they left no message.  These calls piss me off!

This is NOT a LEGIT 'political' call, THIS IS A RUSE to attempt CREDIT CARD FRAUD, by way of asking 'political' questions, but then trying to SELL you (under the LIE that it is 'free' with FEES TO PAY UP FRONT, therefore NOT FREE and a LIE,) a cruise (at best) OR just STEAL your credit card info and run up FRAUDULENT Charges.

MOST of these calls are generated OVERSEAS in call centers; probably the same ones all the U.S. Corporations use for 'service center' and therefore that's where they get all our phone numbers in the first place.  They just use SPOOFED (Fake; real number hidden) numbers to FOOL YOU into thinking these calls are from America.  Calls from overseas are also not  bound by U.S. Law.  So you're wrong; these calls are not 'exempt' by call type.  They're 'exempt' because THE CROOKS, including American CEOs have figured out how to STEAL from us with impunity.

They've been calling my cell for a while.  I do not answer.  Now just got a call on my home phone.  Ugh.

Just got a call from this number. Let it go to the machine, but no message. looks like I'm in a lot of good company.

Received a call today while at work. Caller ID showed 503-457-1194 so I called it back and got  a recorded message stating that it was a political survey and the time frame had passed. The recording stated that if I wanted to be permanently removed from their list to press 1, so I did and got another message that my number was now removed from their survey call list. Ranting and raving on here usually won't fix the problem but calling the number back and asking that your number be removed will normally bring better results. As others have stated, political, survey, and charity calls are exempt from the DNC, and it will do no good to file a complaint through the DNC registry.

My Droid2 and most smart phones let you put phone numbers on a list so that when they call it automatically ignores them.  It's Great.

Missed a call from them. Texted them to stop. It probably won't stop them.

THEY WONT STOP CALLING! IVE PRESSED "1" FOUR OR FIVE TIMES TO BE TAKEN OFF OF THE "NO CALL LIST"    IM AM GETTING SERIOUSLY ANNOYED. MY PRIVACY IS BEING INVADED.

Just got two calls from this number - unsolicited - needless to say - no one said a word despite my two hellos.  WILL NOT ANSWER IT AGAIN and if possible will  block.  Stupid, Stupid, Stupid - Why do we put our numbers on the DO NOT CALL LIST if we are going to receive OPINION calls anyway.  It is a private cell number that few people should have.  Strongly told them to not call my  number again!

They called numerous times and I didn't answer. No message. Called them back to yell at them and got a message saying it was some political survey thing. They give you an option to press 1 to take your number off the list for future calls. We will see if they finally stop.

Grampa, it's your phone company, rather than a specific phone, that has or doesn't have the "block" feature. I block numbers on Verizon by entering them on a website, but I guess you can also do it on the phone itself.

Just got a call from that number.  Didn't answer.

Called, left no message, but when you call back you get no answer or a busy signal. They need to stop harrassing people!
