This number keeps calling me can you stop them

has anyone here tried this yet? record the 3 tones the phone company plays when you reach a number that isn't in service at the beginning of you voice mail message . since those calls are robots, it should function like a telezapper and fool their computer into thinking your number is disconnected.if it works on my home phone it should work on a cell phone also.

i've complained till i'm blue in the face,it does little or no good. what we need is to be able to specify what area codes we will receive calls from, i only have 3 or 4 i need the rest can go in the trash .

the message said something about this being my last chance for stimulus. i recognized the voice as one from cardholder services a i assume computer generated voice named rachel. i get these on my work and home cell phone sometimes just 20 minutes apart. the number is always different. the phone companies claim they didn't release our cellular info,but all this started about the time just after a rumor going around that they were going to release the info to telemarketers. it is time we take a stand here and sue the phone companies for releasing the info , and complain to the FCC about this inconvienience they are causing us!

Solve this problem with a SILENT ring tone.
To do this use the record option on your phone. Record SILENCE for 1 second. Save the phone number that you want and assign the name "Do not answer". Assign the silent ring tone to this number.

After that when they call you will not be bothered because you will not hear a ring as it is silent.  The only way you know they called is when you look at your phone and see that you missed a call. When you see the missed call was from "Do not answer" you can just laugh.

Does not block the call but otherwise solves the problem.

Card Member Services.  Telemarketing company that "FISHES" for information on your credit card details ie: credit cards name & customer service number, amount owed, interest paid, partial credit card number. exp. date, payment history, etc.

This company has been calling me and harassing me for years. This company REFUSES to stop calling me after I have notified them dozens of times that I am on the Do Not Call Registry.

I called back the numbers that appears on my caller id, there is an automated voice message system where you can remove your number from their data-base (I have done that a dozen times and they continue to call) or you can hold for a live representative - you will hold forever, there is no live representative to speak with, you will stay on hold and listen to lovely music.

When I called the number back, it asked for my phone number, so I provided the number to the Astoria Police Department.

I got the same message. They wanted me to enter my 10 digit phone number. Which, of course, I didn't do. It looks like this same number is used for a number of different scames.

I keep getting this call 503-468-5531 and no one is on the other end i'm getting sick of this and want it to stop please do something

This is the third time someone from this number has called my work mobile number. Every time I answer they hang up. I called back and there is a message to "press 1 to enter your number onto our do not call list...."however, I don't trust this!

Listen everybody - Ignoring these b*****ds isn't going to make them stop and obviously our government is too screwed up to do anything about it (I have filed numerous complaints with the Federal Do Not Call Registry and it never amounts to anything).  The only thing these folks will understand is wasting their time, so if you have a few minutes to spare, make a game out of it and get good at it.  Give them false names - make up credit card numbers - act like you have Alzheimer's or dementia, or like you don't speak English very well.  Act like a child who can go and get daddy's wallet off his dresser because you know what a credit card is and you want to help your daddy...  Get the picture?  Rather than wasting your time filing complaints, use that same few minutes and have a little fun!!  Keep them on the line as long as you can and then laugh your a** off as you hang up.  These people are on the phone, calling us to make $$$.  I'm quite sure that the live people you get when pressing "1" are on straight commission.  If they get enough of their precious time wasted without getting what they want, they will remove your number from their list on their own!!  I get great satisfaction from outsmarting those who try to outsmart me.  Whenever I get junk mail in my mailbox that includes a "Business Reply" envelope, I tear off all identifying information from the other materials they sent me and stuff it all back in the envelope.  Sometimes I add other trash or other little gems like junk washers, etc. to cost them more in postage.  Good luck everyone and Happy Holidays!  Smile, laugh and have some fun - you'll live longer :)

Answered this call and got a taped voice that said, "Hi, this is Rachel. You don't have to do anything about your credit card but here's an offer....blah, blah, blah." I hung up.

Who is calling my phone number

I got this call this morning.  It's a "credit card interest reduction" service.  I went ahead and pressed one to see which card of mine they were calling about they said any Visa or MC.  When I asked them if they were a telemarketer they hung up immediately.  While letting everyone here know who this number belongs to is great, the only way to make them stop is to report them to the Do Not Call Registry and file a complaint.  Takes 1 minute!   https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx

Received a call from this number.  No name of a company showed up as it called my cell phone.

I got a number from this number on my cell phone and they never spoke. It was clear someone was on the other end but no one ever spoke.

yes, I too got a call from this number wanting to know if I would like to lower my credit card bills. I said yes, and then was transfered, I then proceeded to tell them to send me paperwork, and then they hung up on me. I returned the call and it said something about punching in my number to be put on the 'do not call list', hopefully nobody will be stupid. As the old saying goes, 'if it is too good to be true, it usually is.'

Rec'd a call from 503-468-5531.  When I answered there was only silence; but it seemed as if there was someone on the other end.

First a recording about how its your last chance. Then a guy gets on he's from account services. Do you have any credit cards with greater than 10% interest? How much do you owe? What is the APR?
What card? Who else.....  But from what I read on these companies, they SAY they will take care of this, but in actuality collect the first month from you and then never do send anything out. And even though its my last chance, they keep calling

Receive this number on my cell phone, I don't answer calls I don't recognise on my home or cell phone.

I get calls from thee guys at least once ever week and it is not uncommon to get multiple calls per day from them.  I've requested they take my name off their lists, when I can get though to a person, they just laugh at me.  I've also, when available, pressed the option to remove our information from their database.  All of our phone numbers are registered in the "Do No Call" list and I renew them yearly, but that has not deterred these people in the least!

Today's most recent: 503-468-5531 with no way to be remove from the database.

I got the call.  It was on my missed calls.  I called back.  Entered a "1" as requested, but stopped there because I became suspicious when the recorded message asked for my phone number.   From the other comments, it looks like I did the correct thing by not going further.  But I don't understand why it asked for my phone number.  I would have thought that would have shown up on the caller ID.

I did not answer.

The technology these crooks use is far greater then our gov can control, even if your on a do not call list our gov can't and won't do anything about it unless these companies are stupid and leave tracks but this is not happening, so the best thing to do is don't answer and block these numbers, I have been fustrated for years. they have got numbers from all the e-mails that people send to you saying sent this to 20 of your friends !!!!! then sale them to scammers, its our own fault never resend crap you do not know where it came from.
