Your Complaints are being Heard ? Cancelation of Pacific Telecom?s Oregon Certificate
On July 10th, 2012, the staff of the Oregon Public Utilities Commission recommended that Pacific Telecom Communications Group?s certificate of authority to provide telecommunications service in Oregon be revoked.
Pacific Telecom violated rule OAR 860-032-0060, which requires telecom utilities to submit annual reports to the Public Utilities Commission. Pacific Telecom failed to submit an annual report for the year 2011.
Due to a significant increase in complaints against Pacific Telecom, Oregon regulators appear to be feeling increased pressure to fulfill their mandate to protect the public.
If this decision is finalized, it will prevent Pacific Telecom?s 22,000 Oregon telephone numbers from being used for illegal telemarketing purposes. Pacific Telecom has 60 days to file for a reconsideration of this decision.
Formal complaints against Pacific Telecom can be filed with the Oregon Public Utilities Commission by visiting:

This telephone number belongs to Pacific Telecom Communications Group. They insist that they do not initiate illegal telemarketing calls, however they are involved in managing the calling lists for their "3rd party contractors" who make the telemarketing calls.

Got the same run around from these guys. But in reply to 'Joe', you know what would be AWESOME? If the info you gave (which I'm sure is true) was actually for someone you had a huge grudge with (ex-bf/gf maybe) and you posted all that info to get revenge! The super evil, yet self-regulated, part of me loves that idea.

Solve this problem with a SILENT ring tone.
To do this use the record option on your phone. Record SILENCE for 1 second. Save the phone number that you want and assign the name "Do not answer". Assign the silent ring tone to this number.
After that when they call you will not be bothered because you will not hear a ring as it is silent. The only way you know they called is when you look at your phone and see that you missed a call. When you see the missed call was from "Do not answer" you can just laugh.
Does not block the call but otherwise solves the problem.

This number keeps calling my phone and when I press 1 to talk to someone and tell them remove my name from their list, they hang up on me and when I call back "the number cannot be reached at this time"
| EVERYONE USE GOOGLE VOICE! 2011-12-22 01:53:25 Telemarketer |
Keep reporting them, but I'm pretty sure the FCC won't do much. I have dozens among dozens of reports filed with them already regarding these people and many others. I also called Steve Hamilton, and wouldn't you know, I got a familiar voice recording. It's HIS voice that says "thank you for calling the do not call registry". Good old Steve's voice is linked to every number he's been calling from.
If you port your phone number into google voice, you can set up your phone to block good old Steve from calling you. He'll get a message saying that your number is disconnected, and his auto dialer will drop your number. EVERYONE USE GOOGLE VOICE! It's totally free and it makes your life so much saner. Plus, you can do what I do and pre-emptively strike when you research numbers that call you and find someone who has found other spamming numbers. You can call those numbers, then block them immediately after. It's wonderful!
Here's another potential lead: Steve and his group may be connected to a sleazy group in Naperville, IL called "Marketing Source One". Another phone number lead me to them. Check out the 4th post on 12/14 at the link here: http://www.everycall.us/area-code/3/page%2c4/ The person who posted that also listed about 10-15 other numbers good old Steve has been using.
Looks like you better find a new game, Stevie boy!!!
Also, it looks as though someone is trying to hunt these ba$tards down, so if you wish to add to the research, here is a website that is looking for info: http://www.popehat.com/2011/12/12/crowdsourci ... n-253-246-8503/
Good luck everyone, and may your phones only ring from people with whom you wish to speak to!

When I answered it was the SAME message I've received 20 about lowering my interest rates and this being my last warning. If I was interested I needed to press 1 to speak with someone. When will these ball less attorney generals start enforcing the DO NOT CALL LIST laws?

After reading other commenters input, I called the number and when prompted input the Minnesota State Attorney General's office number.

Calls, does not leave message. Is a service they say is called "Account Services" when I asked them "services for what company", they replied "We provide services for your Bank of America, Citi Bank Visa and Mastercards". When I started to tell them to "please remove me from your calling list" they, of course, hung up before I could finish.
I was told by AT&T, my carier, that if after 31 days of entering my numbe on the Do Not Call List, I am still receiving SPAM calls, I should report them directly to the FCC. They can get up to a $50,000 fine per call and the FCC really does go after them.

Interesting because today (12/21/11) I received ANOTHER call from this # and answered. They usually do not leave message. When I called they said the company is called "Account Services" when I asked them "services for what company", they replied "We provide services for your Bank of America, Citi Bank Visa and Mastercards". When I started to tell them to "please remove me from your calling list" they, of course, hung up before I could finish.
I was told by AT&T, my carier, to call the FCC Do Not Call List from the phone I received the call on and register my #. Then, if after 31 days, I am still receiving SPAM calls, I should report them directly to the FCC. They can get up to a $50,000 fine per call and the FCC really does go after them. Now that I am starting to receive them on my cell phone and HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR TELEMARKETING, I will follow up with the FTC, FCC or both.

Make sure everyone files a complaint on the FTC website: http://www.ftc.gov/ and the Do Not Call Registry: https://www.donotcall.gov/
Hopefully the Feds will shut this down & send these scumbags to prison.

I filed a complaint with the FTC & the National Do Not Call Registry
