I got text too! I do not have a card the number they wanted me to call was 615-430-5547
Nicki 2011-06-06 20:50:03 Unknown
Stated my card been deactivated. Don't have an account with them.

I just got the same message but they said it was chase/something else. i don't even have a cc clearly a scam.

I have been getting these texts for a week or so now. I don't have any account of cc with Sandia FCU, so I disregard them. Thanks all previous posters for info.

Sandia Laboratory FCU. Identical message.
Anybody using Virgin Mobile?
I just activated my phone two days ago.
Not worried about it.

Note: I received a text from an Indiana number (317) 550-9293 telling me that my card had been canceled, and to contact them at (505) 353-1627.
I also have a 505 number, and I knew from the moment I received it that it was bogus, but interestingly enough the scheme seems to have changed in that (1) they're now calling themselves "Sandia Laboratory FCU" and (2) they didn't include any portion of a CC number in the text.

Text messages saying that card starting with xxxx has been deactivate...oddly enough...i have NO credit cards at all...easy not to fall for calling back

I got the same text yesterday, and my number starts with 259. I think it is a computer.

It wasn't actually a call, but a text message. They texted to inform me that my credit card from Southwest Federal Credit Union has been cancelled. First off, don't have a cc from them, also most companies don't tell you what your cc STARTS with. So definitely a scam.

I got the same message as described and i agree with George on the phone increment thing because my number is 505-36....
Chris 2011-06-06 20:50:03 Unknown
My bad. the prefix is 4906, not 4609
George 2011-06-06 20:50:03 Unknown
I think it just is incrementing from 259-xxx1 to 259-xxx2, etc.
Did anyone call the number back?
I did, from an anonymous phone with *67 prefix and I got a fast busy signal.
Is the CC prefix 4906 or 4609? I think 4906 may be a valid debit card prefix.

Got the same txt msg. Claims to be Southwest FCU. I don't have any SWFCU cc's beginning w/4609--that's a Korean MC prefix according to Wikipedia. Funny that a Korean cc number should show up in NM on a Southwest FCU account, huh? I won't respond, It's not a hoax, it's a phishing scam.

I received the same text at 7:02pm regarding deactivated cc. I have a 505-250 pre fix

Same as the other comments. My number falls along the lines of what George posted.

I just got one, too at 1850 on 12/7/2010. My number is 505-259-xxxx. I am wondering if it is a PC just texting to numbers in numerical order. Please advise.

I got the same text from the same "company" just now. The text was from 505-353-1627 and they wanted me to call 505-504-5760. The said that my cc starting in ... had been deactivated. Definitely a scam. And I'm wondering how they got my cell phone number too. If this continues I'm going to have to call my carrier about it, kind of ridiculous.

Thank you for posting Ambi. I just got a text too. I am concerned about how they got my cell phone number too. It was a text message, not a phone call and was from 505-504-5760. I would advise people NOT to respond to this. I don't even believe there is a Southwest Federal Credit Union in our area!
