Yes this happens to me about once a week at work. I am registered on the do not call list and it still happens. When I ask to be taken off the list, the rude b***h just hangs up. And I also can't call the number back since its been disconnected.

This spam callers need to stop! Some people are not aware that when a phony call comes in about their credit rating that it is BS. On another note, people should not be scaring individuals into thinking that someone has jacked their identification and as a result, making them believe that a random person has screwed up their credit rating. This country is under enough pressure with the recession, they don't need phony identity scares either. When these companies call that is exactly what they are doing. We shouldn't have to look over our shoulder every 5 minutes worried that someone has screwed up our credit if it hasn't occurred! This is injustice. I hope in my lifetime I see positive change against these low lives.

Pressed the #2 yesterday for this company.  Hoping that the call today was just registering it in their system.  I've even chewed them out once about this *scam*.  Auto Warranty running out... I think my auto warranty ran out about fifteen years ago.  

I would sure love to have these jokers home phone number.

I'm in Maryland and get a call every day for the past two weeks. I tried pressing 2 to remove me from the list but they just keep calling. It tells me I'm almost out of time to get reduced rates on my credit cards. Today I pressed 1 to speak to a representative and got a female. I asked her what company she represented. She stayed on the line and didn't reply (could hear talking in the background) and then hung up.
I'm originally from Ontario and think I'll contact the RCMP.

Stop calling me...this number calls 3 or more times a week on my cell and they do not answer so I can turn tell them to stop

got a call from them today, & yes they hung up on me when I asked WHY  did you call.  have a new chevy truck, plus 3 other cars under warranty....who are they & what do they want????

I received a call from this number.  On the Caller ID it had BAIESTANNE   NB.  I didn't answer it and they didn't leave a message.  About 15 seconds later the phone rang again.  Out of Area Name and Number appeared.  A man began talking and he was looking for a person who doesn't live here.  I've received a lot of calls for this person from debt collectors.

I get a call from this number atleast once a week.  Soooo annoying!!

Caller ID is not anyone I recognize

I answered my residence phone (unlisted #) in southern NJ and a recorded message told me that I failed to answer several prior attempts to contact me, and this was the final offer to lower my credit card rate.  It then asked me to press "1" to speak to a respresentative.  I pressed "1", then waited about 30 seconds while music played.  I then hung up.

This number called my home phone but did not leave any message.

Just received a call with a recorded message indicating it was a courtesy call about lowering my credit card rate. I hung up before getting a rep.

Got s call about auto warranty protection telling me it was the last courtesy call..I've been getin them regularly so I decided to play along and see what this was about. When the fellow answered and I asked to be taken off the list, the told me to shut up and hung up. Does anyone know who these people are and how we can report this?

Caller was not identified in the Caller ID.  Did not leave a message on the answering machine.  Recommend that you do not answer calls from unidentified or unfamiliar parties.  They will eventually give up and move on to greener pastures.

I would recommend you write the Premier of New Brunswick CN, the justice minister and public safety minister at the following addresses found by simply searching that phone number.  If you lobby the government to intervene they may help this matter which is becoming an annoying practice.

Note there are several variations of this number: 506-226-4568 and 506-226-4562 and more I'm sure.  Both come up on display as 'Cell phone NB' which as I've learned stands for New Brunswick.  Block your number (*67)  and call the number to find it says the number is 'not assigned', whatever that means!  Best not to answer i think.

I didn't talk to anyone but FYI this is happening in Des Moines, Iowa as well. I got my first call from them today at work, couldnt answer and they didn't leave a message. Anyone find a way to get them to stop calling??

I get this call 4-5 times a week, just called again now at 1:35 on Saturday.  Auto Warranty.. funny since I don't even own a car.

they called here about an hour ago and when I asked to be romoved they hung up on me.  The call was to lower my credit card rate. The caller ID said Bathurst, NB was where the call as coming from and I get other calls to but the name isn't always the same but always the same thing to lower my credit card rate.  I don't have credit cards.  I would like to put a stop to this and make them pay for how rude they are.

received a call from 506-226-4562 at about 11:30am ET.  I did not answer the call because I do not know anyone in the 506 area code.  I googled the number and came here.  The message on the voicemail was automated and indicated that I could get a credit card special that expired today and to press 1 if I wanted to take advantage.

I have blocked this number on my cellphone.

I suggest writing to your representatives in the US House or Senate and demanding they write (and pass) legislation that holds the telephone companies accountable for allowing these practices to take place and continue through the years. Each phone number used by these crooks is a phone number registered somewhere with a phone company. If criminal behavior is taking place, we - as the targets for these criminals - should be able to file a complaint with the phone companies where these numbers originate and have THEM take action. That could include cutting off these numbers to make sure that they cannot be used over and over again.

Just received a call from 506-228-4562, Bathurst, NB. Recorded message wanted to reduce my life insurance costs. Said I could press 1 to continue, 2 to be removed from list. Chose 2. We'll see if they call again!

To John (2 March 2009):  While I agree with you that action should be taken, most numbers coming from this company are spam.  That is, the number showing up on caller ID is usually NOT where the call originates, it's just one that is being used to hide the real location.  It would be nice to have the phone company take action, but a better idea might be to play along with the caller and find out as much info as you can.  Either that, keep them on the line as long as possible, then when the call is over, dial the operator and try to have the call traced.  :)

I received REPEATED calls from this number for months on my home phone which is on the Do Not Call list.  A recording announces that this is "the last call regarding your credit card".  When I inquired as to which bank/credit card they calling about they explain that this is in regard to an opportunity to lower your APR for "all your credit cards".  As soon as you push for more information and do not answer their requests for your personal info they hang up. If you announce you are on the Do Not Call list, they hang up (and continue to call back).  If you call back the number just rings and you never connect to anyone.

I got so many calls from this number I finally had to change my phone number because I'm sick of being harrassed.  I also reported them to the FCC and recommend that everyone else do the same:  http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm
