THESE EXACT THINGS ARE STILL HAPPENING AND NOW 2012
ANON 2011-06-06 20:50:07 Unknown
In the past day I've received 3 messages on my cell phone from a Roger Miller (with a thick foreign/Indian accent). He left very bullying messages saying it was a legal matter and I was in danger of going to jail for an unpaid cash advance. I've had cash advances before but all were paid. I ignored the calls.
Today I received a call at my WORK number from "Roger Miller" who then transferred me to an "Albert Johnson" who also had a thick accent. "Albert" told me there were 3 allegations being filed against me: banking fraud, passing bad checks and international financial fraud. Sounds impressive, doesn't it? He gave me a file number and his phone number and proceeded to tell me that I must pay or go to prison and be ruined. He even rattled off my bank account no. and social security no. He was very rude and bullying. When I asked for written proof of such allegations, he refused saying he couldn't provide it. I asked again. He refused again. (BTW, I work in a law firm.) I then told him I wasn't the fraud, he was, he became quite angry and started yelling at me that I was being rude and said he was blocking my social security number so I could never get financial assistance or accounts ever again and was going to jail. He then hung up on me. I called the number he gave me a few minutes later and "Albert" answered. I told him who I was. He said he didn't want to talk to me because I was rude and told me he hoped I enjoyed jail. I told him I was reporting him and his company to the AG. He hung up.
The scary part is, he had my bank account and my social security number. I called my bank and am in the process of getting stuff moved and changed and have filed for fraud alerts.

no joke word for word this is exactly how my conversation went, my words were yours, and his words was the words of the caller by the name of jack abbott. he told me he didn't want to speak with me any more he wanted to speak with my manager to tell them that I am a fraud. gave same 3 reason, rattled off my bank, ss# etc. I believe I was a target because I applied for payday loans, but I paid mine. These people are crazy.

I am so glad that I looked this up on the Internet because if I didn't, I probably would have fell for it. The number that called me is the same area code but now he is calling me from 508-521-9929. I had someone call me yesterday morning saying I owed $239 dollars for a payday loan and that they worked for CIL. It was an Indian guy name Matt Watson. I am currently paying my loans off but because I took them all out at the same time and have payments with all of them, I haven't gotten a call from anyone in months so I thought it was strange. Then I got a call in the afternoon from Roger Miller and also Albert Johnson who said I owed $639. Again, they were with CIL and were Indian with these American names. I told him to tell me who I took the loan from and he said that the Payday place had 18 companies, then it was 24 then it was 34 and that he could not list them all. Then I asked how much and he said between $200-$400 and when I told him I wanted an exact amount, he became irate. I then asked him when I took it out and he said between 2009-2010 which is BS because I never took them anything out in 2009. I told him I wanted an exact date and he said, "how am I suppose to remember that?" "Do you know what you had for breakfast yesterday?" And I said, "Yes, cereal." and he said "No, you didn't. You didn't eat anything because you weren't hungry." Really distrubing. He went on to say he knew my personality and why I dumped my last boyfriend and that I would be sorry. So I called the police and filed a report and they called him and called me back saying that I needed to file a complaint with the Attorney General's office which I did. The guy had the nerve to call me back using my own cell phone number and said to me very creeply, "oh, you answer your own phone number?" Then after the police called him, I was all the phone with them and he called me using the police's number! The guy obviously thinks he's invisible. He said all the same things, that I would go to jail and that he was going to call my manager and get me fired if I didn't call him back in 30 minutes and that I would be sorry if I didn't pay him. Then after I called the police he said that I made a really big mistake. He also knew my bank account number and what bank I was at though it wasn't the right information. It was for an account I closed a while back and when I called him an idoit and told him that he had the wrong info, he became extremely angry. I continued to get calls, until 10pm last night which is not allowed by real "debt collectors." I haven't received any calls today though I'm pretty much just waiting at this point. This guy is truly insane.

I too just got these calls from Jon Doee and Michelle, both told me I was going to jail and to have fun. They told me I was going to to be arrested at my work or home, they told me I get what I deserve the whole nine. They said they were in Massachusettes. another number was 508-348-9254. What can I do to get them to stop
JC 2011-06-06 20:50:07 Unknown
Had this happen to me as well, at first it was a Roger Miller, then it stopped for a couple of months. Recently it just started again this time with a man named Robbie Evars and he would transfer me to an Albert Johnson, who threatened to have me fired from my job and that he was gunna pass out my SSN, all we can really do is call a credit bureau and put a lock on ur credit, then call your local better business bureau
tamu 2011-06-06 20:50:07 Unknown
I received several calls from 508-348-9254, central investigation litigation. I got the same response as the others. Ray Bordon and Roy Miller. 508-348-9579.
What can be done about these guys?
There is a lot of background noises when they call. They call constantly.
Is there anyone out there who can help with this?
Thank you.

Oh my! I just received a call from this number, supposedly Jeffery Collingworth. I didn't answer but he left a message informing me my relative or friend is being investigated for fraud activities and that I am involved, I need to call him, tell my relative or friend to call him and not ignore his call! I would really like to call him back and harrass him. It appears this number is a landline in or around Walpole Ma. Oh, he also said I needed to contact him before taking any legal action...bossy isn't he? Do this and do that? Hope all of you have resolved it or at least the calls have stopped. I'm waiting to hear from my friend or relative to see if they have heard from "Jeffery".

"Angel Brown" from CIL has been calling our phones here in HR regarding an employee in our company and using the same tactics. We initially took messages for the employee, but have now advised "Angel" that we can do nothing else, and directed her not to call back. She yells at us, threatens us, tells us that we are not doing our jobs, etc. She asked to speak to our manager and does not believe me when I explain that I AM the manager. She refuses to let me speak to her manager. Yesterday she called 17 times in 30 minutes. Today we started just transferring her calls directly to the AG's office complain hotline. This hasn't even stopped her. She is also hiding her number from caller ID so we can't just have it blocked. Frankly, for the last two days this has become our afternoon entertainment. Not very professional of us, but we put her on speaker phone and everyone gets a kick out of her tirades. If I were the employee in question I would be very concerned. Since I am not, I am just fed up with the disruptions. We have filed complaints with everyone we can find, but the calls keep coming. When she picked her fake American name, she was way off target!

Getting the same calls (sometimes twenty times in a row, no kidding), from someone with a very heavy accent. Nothing but threats and bullying from them. Only difference is the phone number that they give me is 508-969-2468

OMG the same thing word for word has been happening to me for about a week from Raymond Roy and Fred Fredrickson. They have even gone as far as calling my job and anyone they can get on the phone they have been giving the last 4 of my social and telling me I was going to Jail they were going to block my social come to my job and house. The crazy part is my job asked Raymond Roy to speak to his supervisor and was transferred to Raymond Roy(Supervisor) come on giv me a break they think we are all complete idiots.I called the poliice and filed a report the officer called the number 570-201-0007 and they told her she needs to do her job and they will do there's he also told her the reason why he was calling my job is because both my job and I took a loan out with them. Really??? What company does that for their employees??? I dont know what else to do I am far from scared of these scammers I am annoyed and pissed. Oh yeah and they wont give me any information if I dont give them my social ha I am no fool. I have never done a payday loan ever!
THIS IS A SCAM ALL OVER THE INTERNET

I had this number call me 22 times yesterday on my cell and about 15 at work. I contacted an attorney that handles credit harrassement. He said that about a year ago some pay day loan companies had their systems hacked. He said that the hacker sold customer information to companies over seas who are fake. He said to report it to the police and don't give them any info. I had fun with them today. Everytime they called I would pick up and just sit there. I finally told him to contact my attorney because we are suing him and his company for harrassment. There isn't anything you can do as far as suing because of where they are located. But atleast it got him off my phone. They were literally calling back to back.
jen 2011-06-06 20:50:07 Unknown
the attorney i talked to said that they will stop calling after a while because it is a scam.
Kristy 2011-06-06 20:50:07 Unknown
OMG are all of you repeating the conversations I have had. I had about 15 calls in the matter of 1 - 2 hours. That I committed fraud and I was going to jail. They could not provide me any information either and tried to get me to give them a CC over the phone. Having just filed bankruptcy I have not credit cards, bank accts or nothing. This is scary to think of the people they manage to scam. And yes tons of background noise, they said those were the authorities waiting to come pick me up.

I received several calls from these people so I started calling them and harrassing them. I decided what is good for the goose is good for the gander. The next time they call I am going to tell them I am with the FTC and that they are on our radar. I have filed two complaints with the FTC - I cannot seem to get them to quit but at least I can drive them crazy.

If they call again, do the following (and nothing else)
1. Ask for the name and address of the collector
2. Tell the collector that you are recording the call
3. Tell them Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, a collector must send a 5-day letter stating what the debt is, why it's owed and how much they believe you owe. Tell them that you have not received this letter.
4. Tell the collector that “Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, you MAY NOT contact me further” and that you are sending a certified letter to that effect to the address provided above.
5. Hang up
6. Send the drop dead letter (sample below) to the address via certified mail.
*********************
Sample Letter: "Drop Dead"
A drop dead letter for collection agencies that are harassing you about a debt.
(Date)
To Whom It May Concern:
I have been contacted by your company about a debt you allege I owe. I am instructing you not to contact me further in connection with this debt. Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, a federal law, you may not contact me further once I have notified you not to do so.
Sincerely,
(Name)
(Account No.)
Do not answer the phone from them again.

My mother received a phone call saying that her and my brother committed fraud and that they were going to have to face the consequences. I immediately knew it was some kind of scam because the debt collector has no power to threaten jail time. For those of you who are scared about whether you can go to jail, no you cannot go to jail for having debt. Just call the state police and let them deal with it, do not call them back go directly to the police.
careful 2011-06-06 20:50:07 Unknown
The same exact thing is happening to my sister... We have called the police.. He is harassing me and her boyfriend also...

I RECEIVED A CALL AT WORK STATING THERE WAS A LAWSUIT AGAINST ME. WHEN I CALLED THE NUMBER BACK THE PERSON WITH A FOREIGN ACCENT BY THE NAME OF STEVE JOHNSON WHO STATED " I OWED $635.00 TO SOME COMPANY TO SETTLE OUT OF COURT AND IF I WENT TO COURT I WOULD OWE $7512.00." WHEN I BEGAN TO ASK HIM WHAT COMPANY THIS CLAIM WAS FOR AND TO SEND ME PROOF OF TRANSACTIONS AND PAPERWORK HE BECAME VERY ARROGANT AND THREATENING THAT I WOULD GO TO JAIL IF I DID NOT PAY. THE WORST THING WAS THAT HE KNEW MY BANKING INFO AS WELL AS THE LAST FOUR DIGITS OF MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER.

I recieved the same call. First it started out by me getting 7 calls in 1 hour and 3 voicemails from this Roger person. By the time I got to work I had 2 messages from this Roger person. when i called i was rudely talked to by this roger and hung up on!
sweetpea1 2011-06-06 20:50:07 Unknown
I received 7 calls all in a matter of 2 hours, now they have started calling my job! I am being threatened that if I dont pay this debt I am going to go to jail, suspend my license and I had 3 charges filed against me! He (Albert Johnson) told me in order to hold my case file I have to fax my CC information to him otherwise be taken to court and jail!
I asked him to provide me a copy of the debt that I owed and I needed the paperwork before I give my information out, considering I recently had transactions coming out of my bank account that I didn't authorize. I then told him that I wanted to talk to an attorney before giving him any of my personal info.
He then said, "you have 30 min to call me back or Im going to forward this on to the authorities" WTH! I am not perfect but I do try my best to take care of my debts but this is harassment!! What about the Fair Debt Practices for consumers!?!

Your description couldn’t have been more accurate. I received about 9 calls within a matter of 15 mins from some guy with a heavy Indian accent telling me that I was going to be picked up by the police at my job and taken to jail until court. I have also utilized the payday/cash advance services, but do not have anything outstanding. Furthermore, no collection agency is going to go to each person's job and pick them up to take them to jail. I simply asked this rude man to send me some documentation in the mail or via email- of course he states "we have already sent you all of the paperwork". However, I didn’t recieve anything. The next question I asked was what the name of the company I borrowed from is. He tells me that they are all different companies that are part of "Cash Advance" but he doesn’t know which lender specifically. So you mean to tell me; you know my name, SS#, Bank Account info, but not who I owe? Furthermore, now I am going to Jail over an outstanding debt of $320? Hahah EF that! For a split second this guy had me going, and I was getting nervous - but now that I have heard your story I feel much better! It's crazy how these guys work. I once received an email from a great friend asking me to wire him money b/c he was stuck in China and lost his passport and CC's. At first i freaked and then said to myself, i didnt even know this dude was going to China for business. I called his parents and they said that he was in Texas at a conference and that they had all been hacked. This stuff is impressive, but also very very scary!

The same thing just happened to me. I didn't get names but the 2 men had very heavy accent, and told me that I had recieved a cash advanced and that I didn't pay, so charges we going to be pressed against me. I informed him that I never recieved funds, and I have proof. The men did know my SSN and bank info and told me that I would recieve papers in the mail about a court date. I told them I never recieved anything. Company CIL, I called the number 508-379-2128 from my cell phone and the number is a non working number.

I had the same thing happen to me, but this one was a Daniel with and foreign accent. The man was rude and harrassing. Told me i was gonna lose my job and give me a bad reputation. He calling my job and harrassing me there. I got 4 threatening phone calls after i called the police and they called them back.
CLR 2011-06-06 20:50:07 Unknown
No. That never happened. Isn't that against the law to tell you that you are going to jail?

Thanks guys . I received similar calls from a Victor Owen and talked to 2 guys with the same Indian accents -Reymond Dexdars and Chivas Emper. They also threatend me with court saying it would cost me $6000 and I should settle today for $430 otherwise I will go to jail and lose my car. They would not send me any documentation and they have my account number and my last 4 of my SSN. Dexdars got very belligerent when I said I couldn't understand him due to his accent. He said he was an American Citizen. I will be talking to a detective later in the morning. BEWARE !!! Hey did you guys have a lot of background noise and many people talking ???
