Comcast is both .net and .com. I use .net to get to my email and .com to do business.

Just received a call, let it go to voice mail. When I checked it was dead silence. Yea...that's professional. So I blocked the number. I love that option! After reading the above comments, I don't own nor have I ever owned an AT&T phone. I also don't have any parts to be returned to Comcast and I don't own a Dell computer, and I don't do business with Verizon. I know better. ;)

Caller ID read: Tech Supressed
A prerecorded message stated that someone had changed or cancelled our service and Comcast wanted their equipment back. If we didn't return it soon someone would be by to pick it up. Any questions go to www.comcast.com or if you think this is an error please call 855-692-3151.
First of all Comcast is not a dot com, they are a dot net. A check of the number they instructed me to call if I believe this to be an error has been reported on other sites as a telemarketer which has 2 complaints against it.
I guess being on the "Do not call" list doesn't mean squat!

Claimed to be from Comcast stating I had terminated service and had equipment belonging to them that needed returned.
Andrew 2013-10-11 14:00:06 Unknown
I'm in Calgary, Canada and also got called from this number, assuming it was telemarketing so didn't answer it.
For sure I have nothing to RMA to US company...

do not call again
Arnold 2012-12-26 15:20:15 Unknown
Good to know...I work for a telecom company and ignored the call at work, assuming it was telemarketing. I'll see if it's a legit buisness call if they call again.

I just received my second call from 5086232299 about the same thing returning equipment. So I got online and chatted with a comcast rep. they said the number is not from them. and the 1800-869-7808 number the caller left is not a COMCAST customer service number either. She told me do not call the number.I wont worry about it. BUT DONT GIVE THAT NUMBER ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION.

I have received at least four phone calls saying, "You have equipment belonging to Comcast and you will be charged for it if you do not return it." I never had any Comcast equipment. My son had a Comcast account in his name. He is no longer at the address associated with the alleged account. I gave them the phone number that was allegedly associated with the account, which was that for a cell phone belonging to someone else. They asked me what was the phone number at which I had received the call. I gave them my phone number. They said, "Sorry, that number is on record as associated with the account." DUH ............ If it is not associated with the account, how did they get my number and why are they calling me?
It was impossible to talk to anyone or leave any kind of message. They said they would call back, but I doubt it will be any different than the others.

It's fascinating that soooo many people are jumping on here to defend this phone# and company and are even telling their story.....odd....it's also odd that this "OnProcess" was lucky enough to land ALL these major technology companies...AT&T, Verizon, Dell, Comcast, Life Line, ect....what? No Apple? I believe many of the responses on here are set up. My wife has been receiving calls from 866-402-4525 a few times in the past couple months....When you usually google a toll free # a legit company will pop up....instead, it brings me here. My wife and I both have smart phones and have not sent in a phone to get a replacement.....the automated service also left a phone # of the cell# the call was in regards too, which is not ours......

its an automated that just leave messages from Verirzon and now you said its comcast there something fishy in this call cause when you return the call its always answering service no matter how many time i called them its annoying cause im paying extra for my privacy.
mandy 2012-02-07 19:34:12 Unknown
I don't know wether it's a scam or not. i received the call from this number, it was on behalf of Verizon. i just called to Verizon and told them about the situation and they told me it was an automat. message. "you won't received the call anymore, bye"
dstar 2012-02-03 16:57:01 Unknown
Recording says they were from Sprint and wanted their equipment back. I don't have Sprint. Gave an address of 16500 Kenmore for the account going to my home landline. Unknown to me. Called the Onprocess Technology number. They said they would correct this. We'll see.

Also I got a legitimate call from this number (508 6232299). It was about the return of a defective hard drive. The phone number belongs to the company OnProcess. They do the return services for many suppliers, in my case a company called Data Domain.
Seamus 2012-01-17 20:01:12 Event Reminder
This was a reminder call regarding Verizon FIOS equipment that I am supposed to return. My call was not a scam. The female caller left a toll free number to call back on if I had any questions.
Neighbor 2012-01-17 17:01:46 Unknown
Bogus, bogus, booooooooogus. Asking me to send them my phone because they supposedly sent me one........uh, I don't think so. Throw a couple million robo calls out there and you're bound to hit a few thousand who have changed phones. A legit company would use the mail anyway folks, bogus scams don't because then you're into federal mail fraud territory.

I too have been repeatedly harrassed for almost 2 months from OnProcess re: unreturned Comcast equipment. I called ComCast and they said they know nothing about this company. I believe it is a scam.

I have received a message from this company about equip. from a client a Mr. Jackson. I am wondering why my number has been passed along and it scares me to know that people are using it.

NO, I ANSWERED THE CALL--IT'S ACTUALLY AN ALIEN!
Valthegal 2011-11-08 04:19:30 Unknown
This third party stuff should give it up because it sounds like a scam and probably is one. Verizon said that they dont use third party comjpanies at all.
TASHA 2011-11-07 16:06:07 Unknown
JAMES, IF YOU'D ANSWER THE CALL, IT'S ACTUALLY A HUMAN BEING ON THE LINE.
TASHA 2011-11-07 16:05:27 Unknown
I GOT A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER - IT WAS ASURION MAKING SURE I'D SENT MY OLD PHONE BACK AS DIRECTED. NOT A SCAM.
James Wickstra 2011-10-14 12:44:12 Unknown
They left two messages threatening to bill be for not returning a defective phone. They claim they sent me a replacement phone, but it was to the wrong address. THERE IS NO WAY TO GET TO A HUMAN BEING TO EXPLAIN THE SITUATION

I received the following message to my cell phone from 508-623-2299
"Hello my name is Candice, I am calling on behalf of Verizon. Our records indicate that you may have discontinued or transferred your service with Verizon and still have equipment that needs to be returned. An equipment recovery kit has been mailed to you via UPS. It is important that you return your equipment within 48 hours to avoid non return fees identified in your service agreement. If you have already received your recovery kit please follow the instructions provided to return your equipment as soon as possible. Please feel free to contact us toll free at 866-486-9758 if you have any questions regarding the return of your equipment. We hope you will consider us again for your future entertainment needs. Thank you and have a great day."
I called 800-VERIZON, they had no record of equipment needing to be returned. They also did not have my cell phone number associated with my FIOS account, or any account associated with that cell phone number. I called the number that was provided as a callback number and it asked for my phone number, which I provided, and then my account number, which I did not provide.
I received a similar call from a different number a month earlier.
I am filing a complaint with the FTC and I recommend you all do the same
