New twist that I haven't had before. Now this number is texting me asking "Who is this?"

I get random texts from this number. It seems like they know me. They send things like "hey" or "how are you". On Christmas they sent me a text saying merry Christmas. When I send a text back asking who it is, they don't respond. I tried calling the number on Christmas to see if I could get an answer and it went to an automated voicemail with no name. The random texts have been happening for months! I thought it was someone i must know because I live in Washington but have an out of state phone number. Now that I've read this, I see that it's not just me that this is happening to. Wonder if there is a way to report this and have them stopped.

I've gotten texts on different days from this number. They don't say who they are or what they want.
