I received a call on 7/25. I don't know anyone in area 509 so I didn't answer, but there was no voice mail message. It has bothered me, so tonite, I stumbled onto you guys. I did track back to the property of the address listed in the reverse whitepages. I found tax records for 3 properties for this person. They are listed seperately, yet all say residence. 1 of them states the legal description as S2 Govt Lot 13.  I looked up addresses in the area as well as phone numbers that are similar and camp up with one on hi.21 and only the last three digits are different. It belongs to US Customs...Who are these creeps!?

I just got the call too! I've got a car listed on Auto-Trader & its warranty also just expired. I spoke with the operator & told her the year & model of the car, but I also asked her which company she was representing & she hung up on me.  So most likely, I think that they are taking numbers from Auto Trader & obviously trying to scam. I have to say, I've had a car listed on Auto Trader for a couple of weeks now & thus far I've only received calls from scammers & quite a lot of them, so be careful!

funny thing I receive the call about 10 minutes ago and was about the 20th time they have called within 3 months ! I have a '74 model car and i'm pretty sure the warranty ran out in the late 70s lol that's pretty funny. But as soon as I started to raise my voice to the lady on the other end about her needing to put me on the DO NOT CALL list for the 2nd time she hung up on me. What kind of customer service is that !! Now I'm definitely not buying extended warranty from them for that hahahahahha.

Stop answering calls from numbers you do not recognize!  duhrrrr.... I never answer them and ALWAYS look them up online FIRST to see if any info such as this is posted on them.  (However, the person up above me who calls James Moore at least twice every night & says he will continue to do so forevermore CRACKED ME UP!  haha)

The number 509-779-4543 (in Curlew) is currently disconnected (disconnected since 9/06, and not in the name of James Moore since before 4/04!) and is NOT MINE.  The number has probably been taken over by a nasty little thing called a "caller ID spoofing" scam (according to VZ security). My name is James Moore and I live in the same town but am not making any calls from my (different) home phone. Thanks to you (irrate and curious) folks who have tracked me down and called to help alert/inform/educate me (I've been called about a dozen times in the past week from people all over the country wondering whats going on  with their phones - in my name!)

I asked Verizon to look into this but they can't do much unless they catch the scammers in the act - so if you are getting called you could try contacting your phone carrier and have them monitor/trace the next prank call - but it's not likely the callers will call again. Verizon security doesn't have a clue how to remove these old numbers and caller ID info from the net data bases (up to all the various reverse lookup services, like whilte pages and 411.com) and so stop the scam, in fact they seem a little perplexed about this situation.(not a normal type of caller id spoofing scam).It makes me realize that cyberspace is like outerspace with all the bits of old dead (invisible) stars floating around....with little mischievous viruses attached.

PS - hey thanks "Chris" for the kind and clarify comment - the other earlier one recommending they call my home number all the time sure is making a big (wrong!) assumption - I get these kind of irritating warrenty calls all the time too - if I had caller ID i'd probably see some of them were from me....

Unfortunately the phone companies don't know how to clean up the phone data bases, nor do the internet search sites, so it's up to Big Brother... but they have other more pressing business....It's a hassle for us all.

i picked up my cell phone and it said one missed all and the number was this number, when I googled the number I got "james moore" in washington. also, i thought i recognized this number, and in reading some of these comments i realized that this number, along with another, had been calling my parents for MONTHS about their car warranty, and they didn't even have one to begin with! they even put their name on the national do not call list, and we are still getting calls. this is ridiculous and to the point of harassment. THIS MUST STOP.

Got a call today too from this number. didn't know who it was so didn't answer. No voicemail was left either. I think best bet is to not answer any number you don't know.

When I told them I had an 86 SAAB they hung up, cause I assumed it was too old.  So then my girlfriend, who loves ripping these kind of jerks a new one said 'give me the phone' and she tried to get them to talk by saying that we had a 2005 Porsche.  Interested, they kept her on the line long enough to say that they have been sending mail for weeks, when she asked oh really, which address..They hung up! bastards!
What's interesting is they don't know who they are calling.  Next time they call I'm going to try to figure out what they want..Just keep on long enough to find out what want (obviously credit card info)

my young daughter received a call from t his number and we dont know anyone from there and about it.

They called my cell while I was at work and didn't leave a voicemail.  When I googled it, the first result was for James Moore like everyone else has seen and then I saw this site.  If the number doesn't work when you call it back, it might mean they forged the caller ID if that's possible and that listing for the possibly fake James Moore needs to be removed because his number doesn't work.  I've gotten so many calls from bogus people in Washington and Virginia and lots of other places and just never answered because I don't know anyone from there.  They really need to do something about these people...

i just got a call from this number at 3:22pm. i didnt pick up because i wouldn't know anyone calling from that area code. a voicemail was left but it was a recording that i didn't bother to listen to. REMEMBER: NEVER GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE! IDENTITY THEFT IS A CRIME.

Got a call from the same nnumber on 07/26. The same Auto Warranty expired message.

Just got a call from them on my cell phone.  I didn't answer but googled it to find this page.  I don't answer any numbers I don't recognize.  If it's important, they can leave a voicemail.

Just got a call from them also.  Pressed 2 to "remove my number from their followup list" and got disconnected.  Somehow I don't think that worked.  And Tron I hope you are joking. Otherwise you need a few tranquilizers.

This is the second time I've received a call from 509-779-4543, didn't answer and no voicemail left.  It's interesting all of the curious people out there...

Same thing here, "auto warranty" company. Always hangs up on me when I ask who they are. Benn calling for over 3 months, about every 3-4days. It's frustrating that it continues. I would gladly spend time to help find these people, and bring them down. FBI, are you listening?

Missed call on my Texas work phone Friday 7/25 at ~6:10PM local time, no voicemail left.
