same text said Bank of Whitman 509-846-7016

This is the text message I received the evening of 4/8/10.  The number appears to be a cell phone, I am not sure of the carrier.

The number has already been disconnected (509) 846-7016.  Hopefully the cops found them before they could move on.

I also got text messages from this number saying first my Bank of Whitman card was frozen, then my Wells Fargo. I don't have active accounts at either of these places, though I used to a long time ago.

I hope no one falls for this.

I don't have a Wells Fargo account. Never have. I hope this is a random number generator and not someone who has access to my credit.

Same number and message, but mine said Wells Fargo.

I got the same thing but they said it was from Wells Fargo. I've never even used that bank.

What everyone needs to do is call there local police agency and report it so the person(s) doing it can be arrested before someone foolish enough to believe it fall for this scam. I know i will.

My girlfriend (a Sprint customer) got one of these texts, too, on April 8 at 8:46pm PDT:

Wells Fargo Alert: Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at 509-846-7016 to REACTIVATE your CARD.

I got the same message today! Im not calling it, seems like a scam.  Never had an account with that Whitman bank.

Remember to report this text and phone number to you phone service providers.it will help keep these people from getting service and running thier scams.BLOCK THE NUMBER W/ YOUR PROVIDER.

yep...just got a text...said it was from Wells Fargo--must be a scam.

just got a wells fargo text. so did my girlfriend. i googled it right away. knew it was scam.

Same as above.  I don't have a Bank of Whitman card (although they are a local bank), asking for info to "reactivate" card I don't have.   I'm forwarding this to the Atty general in the morning

I got two texts - one at about 6:30 from Bank of Whitman and then another about 8 p.m. from Wells Fargo - I do not have accounts with either of them!

I got a text from this number claiming to be from WELLS FARGO. I don't even have a Wells Fargo account.  From: 9222 stating my card has been deactivated - call to reactivate.

just got the Wells Fargo scam call--I was able to find out it is someone out of Omak Washington by searching it on the internet.  Hope no one falls for these fools.

Same message, different capitilization and different bank, now it is Wells Fargo.  Hope these post's are helpful to someone!

Got a text saying i needed to reactivate my bankof whitman card, two hours later, same number, but this time wells fargo. SCAAMMM!!!

got one tonight too... saying my wells fargo card had been deactivated.  I don't have a wells fargo card.  what DESPICABLE people.  pathetic leeches on society.

Text claiming to be from Wells Fargo (Fraud)

I just go another one its now claiming to be from Wells Fargo.

I got this at 6:45pm too.  Pretty sure it's a scam too.

I just received the same message and I don't even have a Bank of Whitman card.  This is a SCAM!

I received a text that clamed to be from the Bank of Whitman and my card had been deactivated and said to call to reactivate. Yesterday I received the same text from a different number so I think it is a scam to get credit card numbers.
