There is a charity out there trying to help but most of the money goes to fundraisers.
Don't give them any money
As they are a charity so do not call doesn't apply but do not give does!

I appreciate Belinda's post above. I've read about organizations that pose as raising money for charity, but in reality are in business for personal greed.
Because I did not recognize the number, I did not answer the call. Our outgoing voice message for voicemail says our number is on the Do Not Call list and is not to be used to solicit business, money or survey responses. The caller did not leave a message. After the call, I blocked this number using my call blocker.
Although not much action appears to get done, I still recommend reporting complaints as much as possible to the Do Not Call list online. Reports are quick to make, and with any luck, large-scale offenders may someday be prosecuted.

They seem to come in droves. I got 4 spam calls within 30" which makes me think it's a spoofed number calling from a boiler room.
yes, a donation center but I looked into them and they are only partially legit if at all. They collect $ and disperse 2% to the actual organization they claim they are collecting for.
My local law enforcement say they recieve nothing from these places and do not sanction CALPAC saying they are.

Caller ID shows the name "CALPAC". They've called my house a handful of times before but I've never bothered picking up. Nowadays, you can't trust anyone calling from an unfamiliar or obscure Caller ID name.

I answered because I know people in 510 also. ID said CalPac. Picked it up, man said his name is Allen Brooks calling for Police Athletic League. Mentioned me by MY NAME and asked how I'm doing today. When I said I am actually at work, he got pissed, said "yeah right!", and hung up before I could ask him to call back in 10 minutes. Soooo glad I didn't get to finish my sentence. What an *sshole...

Same here; i picked up since i know people in 510 but they hung up after i said "hello" twice.
