Received notification on my cell that this number called me on Jan. 28, 2013 at 12:10 p.m. but left no message. When I called the number back using my land line I reached someone who said I was called because I had visited a job site via the internet. I told the fellow I was not seeking employment and he hung up. Perhaps they got my number through Craig's list where I recently responded to an opportunity to earn a few dollars through participation in a "breakfast survey," for which I have not yet received a response. Also, I am a member of Linked In, although I am semi-retired. When I did a reverse lookup on whitepages.com it showed that it belonged to a land line located in Crockett, CA. Good to have discovered the "Who Calls Me" site since I occasionally get strange calls on my cell, which I use very rarely. Thanks

This whole situation is very creepy. I don't usually answer calls from numbers I don't know, but I answered this one because it's the same area code as mine. I thought it could be a classmate or a friend trying to reach out to me. When I answered, a machine said something about a conference call ending. I'm thankful I googled the number to see that it's a scam. I definitely won't be giving these people any of my information. The computer generated voice thing is just plain weird.

Received a call from them, WN Positions, I think. They would not stop talking even after I politely asked "please put me on your do not call list."

I filed a complaint with the FTC, since I'm on the national do not call list and am certain I did not fill out any survey (they claimed I had on the call)

Just got a call from this co. But unlike the other commenters, I'm not a job-seeker. My # is on the DNC list. Why are they calling me? What a nuisance.

Wow, I thought this was a real person. Then it occured to me that the person didn't feel real. What an awesome automated voice recognition thingy. Kickass.

Scam call though. Ignore.

I called several times just messing with them, telling him I like what he is wearing and i need a job, sexy job. It is a computer voice recognition. If you say the right words it keeps going but if you say the wrong words if will hang up. The first time I called back to give him a hard time for hanging up on me, i heard laughing in the background. Check out the show Workaholics for a laugh about how this industry works.

Whatever company is behind this number ( 510-722-6019) is engaged is social engineering for the purpose of getting detailed identification information for an unknown nefarious purpose.  Last week they called my cell phone and said they were calling because of a "survey I responded to" and this week they are stating they are calling because they are a "top job placement firm".

Whomever is behind this invested some money into the technical aspect of this because they are using an artificial intelligence, like iPhone's Sirius, to answer the phone and ask questions.  I have received multiple calls and I have used their "press 9 to be removed" option to no avail.  After multiple calls I tried to get to a real person by giving a series of unreasonable and then on another attempt fictitious answers to finally get to the person behind the automation; no luck.

I received this call, it is a phishing call that is using a computer generated voice, likely to mask any accent the moderator is using. They stated I took part in a survey with regard to applying for a job.

Do not give this 'caller' any information at all.

To clarify I did not take part in any online surveys, I had not looked for a job outside my own agency thus my information is internal to the California Public Utilities Commission, I provide no one other than my doctors and personal circle of friends and family my cellular number, and as such there was no reason for me to receive this call. I add I am on the Do Not Call list with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) www.donotcall.gov

This protocol of a robo call in California is for a human voice to take over a call within a short period of time. Having a person generate a conversation through a computer voice is borderline as to its legality. I did not let the call procede as I noted its peculiarity and searched the number on the web as the conversation began.

With other people stating there were requests for personal information, my recommendation is to have you milk them for info, reprot them to the Federal Trade Commission and report the call.

It was a missed call. I thought it was my son in Berkeley, since that's the area code, but did a lookup. Not my son.

i got the same call re online survey.  I haven't taken one and am not looking for a job.  Very few people have my mobile number, and this is the first spam  call of this nature.  My number is on the federal do not call list.
Very disturbing.

Since I keep track where I sent my resumes I believe this scam(in my case), is from the one I sent to somebody in Berkeley, CA. Besides, I will report this scam to the pertinent authorities, I will flag ads on craigslist that don't give a believable e-mail address to reply back such as "hiringManagerName@companyName" or "hr@companyName" or any real contact info. This is because if I have to sent personal information such as my name and address, I think it's fair that I should know who I'm sending them to. So, if we all reply to real companies and flag the ones who don't give a real contac info to reply back we will be safe or at least we will know for sure who we sent it to. If someone has a better idea how to prevent this scam please post.

I just got a call from this number too and from what i am reading its because of people looking for  jobs, I haven?t applied for any jobs. But i did apply for unemployment and they made me register on caljobs to receive my unemployment. So it must be something from caljobs, because i do not give my number to anyone! and i don?t get calls from numbers i don?t know...ever!

Same deal just happened to me. I told them I didn't fill out a survey and they proceeded to ask me if I was over 18, US citizen or perm resident. They're looking to take our information with ill intentions.

I just got a phone call from this number too. It sounded fishy and he took forever to respond. I then tried to throw him off by saying, "You sound like a robot"..after a few seconds he said, "I sound that good, don't I?" Yep, I agree with most people here that this is job advertisement spam. What's interesting is that I looked up WN Positions online and there is a page World Neighbors saying they are sorry for people who receive robo-calls from WN Positions. Obviously, the two aren't affiliated with each other.

I just got a call from this # 510-722-6019. I too am looking for a job. I didn't answer the phone and no message was left. I don't like that they can retrieve my phone # from places i have sent my resume or applied for a job online. Too bad they cannot be reported. Surely they have a contract with a phone company.
