Got the same message - when I called the number it asks for my 16 digit card number...

Just called it again - it was a malicious spam text message according to the guy who actually owns the phone number... Poor Guy!!!!

Well, I'm the owner of 512-282-7989. It hasn't been pleasant. Someone took control of my phone number on 8/29/10 so that calls to it went to his answering system if I didn't answer. The phone rang continuously because he sent out thousands of text messages that looked like they were from T-Mobile. I was celebrating my daughter's baptism most of that day and was astounded by the number of voice messages I had that evening with the phone ringing continuously. I got voice messages if too many called at the same time so that some rolled over to my voice mail. I worked with my phone provider to shut him down. According to the records, I've received over 2 thousand call in three days. They are tapering off now, but still coming in. I've picked up and spoken to a few folks and so far all received text messages on Sunday. I hope they stop calling soon!

Recieved same text as Peter (at top) on 08-31-10. Did a search on the number instead of calling.
