My 12 yr old daughter picked up a call from this number and they said they were calling because our home PC was slow and they were going to fix it.  She got her to click on a link and took control of the PC and did who knows what to the machine.  This is a scam to hack your PC, do not answer these calls.

Called here (Vcr. area) - scammer said they were from Microsoft and wanted me to open up various screens to help solve this (so called) problem there was !!!!!!!  Hang up folks and BLOCK this fraudster !!!!!!!!!!!

same call today to fix the computer, I told him I knew it was a scam and that I wouldn't follow his instructions and he hung up. when I googled <who called me 512-451-1556> I found your site right at the top of page 1. I guess it does work, sadly, or they would have changed up their number by now.

Call from 512-451-1556; Two men with accents identified themselves as Microsoft contractors calling to fix  "urgent corruption"  of my computer. Said they got my phone number from Microsoft "data base" Would not say if this was fee-based until end. Wanted remote control of my computer. Gave me false 877 number to call them back.

why some one is calling from 512 451 1556 and says he calling on behalf of government

Seem this is from local scam artist...calls from India call center had been stop.
Look like they got the voters-list..it's illegal to obtain such document, not to say to use it for other purposes.

P*** called me from this number and wanted remote access.  I asked him where he was from and he said from the US.  I said thanks cuz our police should be able to contact american police and put him in jaii where he belongs -- fugging criminals these guys are.

I received a call from this today they left no message it frightened me because my former husband is in the hospital in Austin and thought maybe it was an inside number, I am beyond PISSED that is it some scam so I can't wait for them to call back I will lead them on until they give me a company name or number, then turn them in to the FCC.

Yup, same thing.  He insisted on the PC having a technical issue and I need to turn it on.  Funny thing is I asked who he worked for and he said Microsoft out of Berkly, CA and I said your are code is 512 and that's Austin, TX.  Plus he said his name is Steve Johnson which is bull cause he sounds like some Indian guy whom I'm pretty sure is an IT prick.

I just received this call from this number last night and there was no one on the line. I have had successive calls from various states in this last week and it is always the same. No one answers. Maybe I need to sound less authoritative when I answer:)

Got a call from this # today as well, but didn't answer.  I've talked to the "infected computer scammers" before though.  I asked them for the name on the computer, and they gave me the name from the phone listing.  Told them, nice try. The name on my compter is not the name on my phone.  LOL @ the Mac comment!

Got a call from this number; had an idea that it was a scam. I let him keep talking for a bit, telling me that my windows machine had a virus, that it was generating infections, etc... finally, I mentioned one detail. I had a Mac!

Some strange women called with an Indian voice, saying something was wrong with my computer. I didn?t understand and asked if she new witch computer I had, she couldn?t answer and hung up. Very wierd! I checked the nummer and found this site.

This Indian sounding person called asking to fix a problem with my pc and i told him it was off for the past 2 days. He said it can still be accessed even it's off. That was a red flag. So i hung up on him. He couldn't even tell me how he got my number.

Received a phone call from this number tonight, foreign sounding voice, saying something about a new Canadian child's grant and asking how many children I have under 12.  Had to disappoint him by saying none. That ended the call.  When I checked online to see if there was a new grant available, it looks like maybe the education grant. Maybe they are trying to scam people out of it!

This number must be used for a host of telemarketing as I have previously received calls from it about my compromised computer. The guy told me to go to hell when I asked why they were calling a number listed on the 'do not call list'.

rang my mobile and saw it was a strange number +1 (512) 451-1556 which tells me it was an overseas call. I let it go to message bank as assumed a spammer, and it left a message. Checked it and was a lot of noise in background but no voice. Googled the number to find this site. It says the origin was Austin, Texas LOL.

they called my cell phone which pisses me off since it uses up my minutes. i use Sprint so i went online and blocked the number.

They're still at it.  Didn't answer after Googling the number.  Thanks to all who posted here.

i got call 3 times from this number today.  one time he told me i was going to blowup and the next time i had a goon in my computer and the 3rd time i just told him off.

Received a call from this number today.
Did not answer however in reading previous messages posted I decided to post also to show people this number is obviously going and calling people.......for some scam.

Received a call from a foreign gentleman who insisted I had a problem on my works PC.  Said it had been compromised and he was phoning from microsoft to fix it.  He said he needed to access my computer remotely.  Needless to say I did not and after putting him on to my male colleague he hung up.
