This is the base number for the North office of the IRS in Austin, Tx.. They have 100's of phones there and show this number on the Caller ID for outgoing calls. They probably gave a particular number and since the receiver had caller ID they probably didn't write the correct number down

Caller ID says US Government. "Miss Tucker" asks for me by name, when my wife says I'm not there she asks me to call this phone number. Automated message says that the number has been disconnected or is no longer in service.

Some guy by the name of "John" called my business number asking about an employee and saying that he was with the IRS was going to be leveling against the employee. When I called the number back it was "a not in service #."
