I received a message on my phone from someone with a heavy accent stating his name was Officer John Wright. He indicating that a friend or a family member made a financial withrawal with this finance company and used my name as a reference. And I should call him or I would be in big trouble. What the heck is this?

This has been happening to us since June 2011.We have called the federal trade commission several times but they said they couldn't do anything.The last time he called,by the way,he says he's from the Federal lawsuit dept.(?)-what? then from Cyber Crimes,then from an online loan company.He has a thick Indian accent and he changes his name every time.The names are Patrick ?,Jimmy Johnson,Eric,etc...I always laugh and ask him if he knows the origins of those last names because unless your mother married an American or British man that would not be an Indian(?guess it's indian-not an accent expert) name.Anyway,he has my husbands entire social and our bank info.We had to change our bank info twice.Now he has called my sister,her last name isn't the same as mine so how on earth did he get that?It's funny my brother-in-law (sister's husband) has been in law enforcement for 30 yrs.He let him have it but all the guy did was call him a MF.The last time he called and spoke to my husband,who by the way has esophageal cancer and is not exactly up to this kind of stress,my husband told him stop calling and the guy said he would be at our house that night to "grind our entire family into little pieces".Okay-game over.We called the police,they came by and said they knew of this guy but couldn't do anything about it.They were very nice and offered to sit outside our house all night but we knew that wasn't going to happen or at least i hope not.What in the hell are we going to do about this?I have contacted everyone I can think of.I can't help but agrue w/him but I will start hanging up like the fed.trade comm. told us to do.I'm just sick to death of this a***ole.Good luck to all.Indiana....

i started getting phone calls over a week ago from 5853310826. at first i thought i really owed them as i got a call from work from my boyfriend mad stating i owed money to someone when i got out of work i called he was very unproffesional i knew right away it was a scam they kept calling and calling i changed my number. now last night they contacted my sister and left her a message in regards to me from a different number. like come on when will these people be stopped its aggravating. so now every chance i get i call them in let them know they are dumb and retarted and that they will get caught and the last laugh will be on them.the most recent number now is 5125014533.

this guy called named Micheal Jordan, called  my job and personal phone implying i owe some money and he was from the State Investigating Department,I knew was a scam, anytime you get threatned and cursed at  to lose my job and house because I'm not going to Walmart to load a debit card and send to him $8500, its a SCAM. I have Call Control app on my phone and already  registered do not call list along with my State do not call list and filed FCC complaint. So Mr.Micheal Jordan you are not the NBA player stop harassing and get a life

this man is also calling me and my 16 yo old daughter making her CRY uncontrollably threatening to send the cops to my house she cant sleep or anything, how can I get this man taken care of?

Texas number-claimed to be fed. officer but in "state" agency: Financial Enforcement Crime Network; the alleged charges were related to Cash Central who said it was fraud and not them calling-they file civil (NOT CRIMINAL) cases for debts, told to pay $678 by 3:PM via debit card or be arrested, would give no agency address, I filed a complaint with the texas state attorney general's office also will at missouri attorney general's office and the FTC...do this 1)because it is serious-they are breaking the law in this scam by claiming to be state/federal officers 2)they have ID information they should not have, he my whole SSAN.

My story is the same as all of the others: 9/20/11 First a woman called saying that I had to call her back immediately about a criminal affidavit filed against me in Texas for a $300 loan that I did not pay back. Said she was callig from the State Investigations Dept.  and that they would contact my work and the LA Sherriff if I did not immediately pay the balance due. She said she had my name and social security number on the phone message.

I tried calling back several times and would always get a voice mail for ext 7001 with no name mentioned. I left messages and did not get called back.

Today 9/21/11 I just started dialing the number every so often and finally a man answered. Said he was Officer Mike Johnson from the State Investigation Dept in Texas and that there was an amount due of $1,268 for the $300 load plus attorney and court costs. And he did have my correct social security number. I asked him for the load origination date and the name of the lender. He said the ender was a payday loan company and it was from July. He would not give me a date, but gave me a load number that I do not recognize. He was telling me I was being uncooperative and threatened to immediately contact the Sherriff?s dept in LA and my workplace.  I asked him if I could call him back and he again said I was not cooperating and hung up.

This guy left a message saying that i was a reference for someone and that i need to call him back or i would be in trouble with the law... i figured it was a scam, and after reading this, i'm going to hammer his a** next time he calls.

David Jones has also called my work place & my cell several times of the day,they have been harrassing me severely.

Officer Rick Williams calls me constantly on my cell phone & at my work place yelling at my coworkers, threatening them so they can fire me just to get money from me over a payday loan that is fake. How did he get all my information, especially my social & address?

I was at work and got a call from a ¨Mike Johnson¨. He told me he was calling from the State Inves. Department. He asked for me ad tolod me that I was under investigation because I failed to pay a loan. I had My co-worker call back and pretend she was me and the said they were going to take legal action if I didn´t pay the full amount. She was very stern with them and he told her ¨Do you know who you´re talking to?¨ Said I don´t care. but then he said he would need a Debit or Credit Card number. She then told me to call the actual bank where I did have my loan and they said thats a scam. Do Not even answer the calls from that number. That they have heard of it plenty of times. I wanted so bad to smack this guy. He kept calling over and over. I answered the last time and he called me a f-----n b--ch and I simply hung up and didn´t answer anymore. JERKS!!

I ve been getting calls from this "robin williams" all week . At first i got worried but after i came across this website im going to do what i can to get this man caught . He keeps leaving me messages saying i owe money and that hes gona get me fired from my job . Its getting annoying

I just spoke to 3 different men with very heavy accents. They said that they were from the State Investgative Department. These men knew the last 4 digits of my SS#, and my employer. They stated that I took out a Cash Advance months ago, but I NEVER DID. I attempted to ask questions, but they talked over me. They also said that I could lose my job. Little did these idiots know, I am the boss!!
I decided to be a smart a**, and I told them that my retired FBI father, and my mother who's a district attorny, would contact them, then I hung up. As a result, they called my cell 6 more times, and told me to   pay them now. I called them liars and thieves, and that they should be ashamed of themselves. I hung up on them for a 3rd time. They called one more time and called me a loser, then hung up in my face. Lol! They can hang up, s***! As long as my money looks good!
I feel so sorry for anyone that falls for this.

he called my office today saying his name is David Jones. Its a thick accent and he doesn't even know what "state department" he is calling from.

I think this scam is linked to 4theglory scam they get you social with that and do some research and then try and get money out of you but there story is always alittle off DONT PAY THEM

This thick indian accent guy called me from 512_501_433 and I knew right off it was a scam by law there not aloud to call you after 8 pm je had them info from me but it did not match up correctly so I reported him to the FBI & had my cellphone provider block his number from contacting me. If you get a call from this guy you might also want to report it cause if he has this info the odds arw good he has access to tour credit info and may be doing other damage that you are not aware of dont just let it go by any means.

Report it to local police because he mave have access to your credit report and information as well no telling what else he is doing

This number called me numerous times today. Told me I was going to be arrested and thrown in jail if I don't pay them $520 for a loan that I applied for that was pending in my bank account. I told him that I didn't have any money pending in my account. He told me to check my account again. My fiance then got on the phone and started talking to him. These are the names that I got from these people. Robin Williams, Mark Thomas, and John Right.  Sounded like the same person to me.

This number called me this morning. A man with an extremely heavy accent left a message referring to a close friend saying he was from the State Dept and she was being investigated for "Fraud of her Finances". After he babbled on and on, he ended it with... "and you or whomever receives this message must call me back or you will be arrested too." I figured it was a bill collector trying to scare me, I hit delete.
When I got to work, I began to tell another mutual friend. Before I got to sentences out she held up a  piece of paper that read "Officer Robyn Williams" with the same phone number. She told him she was too busy and would call back later. Throughout the day we found out he called multiple friends of the same person, how he got all the numbers we don't know. None of us actually talked to him.

I received a call from this "officer Jack Green from the National Investigation Bureau" who had such a thick accent that I could barely understand him. He stated that I needed to call him regarding an important legal matter, and has by home and work phone numbers as well as the last 4 digits of my social security number. The area code he was calling from is from Texas, yet, when I looked up this National Investigation Bureau, they have no offices in Texas. I'm pretty sure this is a scam and will be contacting them with this information as well.

this guy keeps calling my job and cell phone. saying he's officer of the law. he said i owe money and if i don't pay it back i will be arrested. then he asked have the local police contacted me. i said no. then he proceeds to tell me that it's fraud to get money and don't pay it back. i have asked him to stop calling my job. but he is still calling. he called from 661-230-3036. then he called from 513-501-433. i just want him to stop calling my job. i'm paying my bill on time.

Officer Jennifer Corso from the Marina Police Department Ph@831-884-1210,jcorso@ci.marina.ca.us . She is also talking with anouther officer in Austin  Texas as this is where the think the calls are coming from. If you google his numer it looks as though he is calling from a land line. This guy who identofoed himself as Officer Rick Williams called me 3 times today and many times yesterday. Finally after his last message i spoke with ihm. He also said my ss# was in jeopardy and he was calling local authorities to have myself arrested for a loan I never had. I called and spoke with him. Agreed to pay the 510 he said i owed. As soon as I got off the phoine with him I called my local police. They now have the information. Please watch out for him. This is a scam!!

This jack off keeps calling me telling me I owe him money from some payday loan I took out. He said I owe him $648.00 and if I don't pay it that I will be arrested. I thought it was a scam but now I'm positive after reading everyone elses remarks about this j*** off.

I found a way to complain to the FBI.  Apparently, there have been other SCAMs like this one, since December 2010.  Go to http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx and file a complaint.  I'm waiting to hear other sources to get this guy.  As, they come back to me, I will post them for you guys to report him, so he can be found and prosecuted.

Same thing here.  I am glad that I googled the name of the company and the phone number. And didn't give them any money.
