This number has been calling me for a long time. They are a fraudulent company supposedly operating out of Austin Texas and calling themselves the crime investigation department. They are fishing for information (address, social, credit cards, etc...). The rep that called this morning was very rude to me, I will not repeat what he said to me as it is very disgusting. I filed a report with the FTC as well as the attorney general of California (because I live in California). I encourage everyone who gets calls from this number to report them. I keep calling them back and harassing them making my morning mildly entertaining

How can I report him to FTC.  I am fed up of these jerks wasting my time.

Someone identified themselves as erik hall, and left a message.  Said he is calling from Crime Investigation Department and he has some affidavit against my name and my identity is under attack.  And left phone number (512)541-2184 to call back as soon as possible.

We had a lady fall victim to these sick individuals today. They called her claiming that he was a detective, working to collect past due money for the IRS & she would be arrested if she did not send the money asap. She follower their instructions, and pulled out $2,000.00 cash, and put it on 4 pre-paid cards from 7 Eleven & gave them the number. :(

Same stuff.  Guy actually called my father trying to get my number.  IRS agent scam.  I called him on it.  He responsed, "If this is a fraudulent call, then why the hell are you calling me back."  I hung up and blocked the number, proceeding to call Austin PD and then the FTC.  1) Impersonating an agent of the government is very illegal.  and 2) This guy is wasting our time and hurting the USA GDP.

Report him to the FTC so they can stop this nonsense.

I have been getting such calls from an officer Don Lawson. The calls originate from a 202 number, but when I call the number back no one picks up.  When I call the 512 541 2184 number, I get a voice mail.  I want to leave a message with a few of the choiciest cuss words, but the machine is full.  This is a pure scam.

He claims from investigation and I just hung up on him

AFTER HE KEEPS CALLING ME SAYING YOU ARE GOING TO BE ARRESTED. IM LIKE POLICE DONT CALL ME LIKE THAT SHE THOUGHT IM DUMB. THIS IS A PRANK CALL.

Caller identified himself as John Smith on the answering machine. Sounded more like someone from the Philippines. Started saying something about me committing IRS fraud and that before he would have me arrested....and the answering machine cut him off!
This guy called 2 times afterwards on other days and I hung up.

I got a message saying he has an affidavit case filed against my name. Very thick East Indian accent. Left a message saying he cannot leave a detailed message but to call him back at number 512-541-2184 ASAP
Obviously scam. Beware of this guy and number!

This guy called us couple of hours ago and wanted to speak with my dad. He first greeted me by saying he is a police officer and that he needed to speak with my dad ASAP with a very thick accent. Then I asked what is the reason for this call and he replied by saying he can't speak with me and that he needs to speak with my dad and if my dad does not call him back he could get arrested. At that moment I was like " is this some kind of sick joke saying my dad could arrested for crime that he never committed" right when I said that, he got defensive. So I told him my dad will call him back in short while. When my dad called him he told him the FBI has contacted the IRS and have found some kind of fraud with the taxes and stuff. And that he has to pay large amount of money or get arrested. But at the end this whole s*** is a SCAM and if this number calls you 512-541-2184 dont pick it up and if you do pick it up start yelling at them and make that a***ole regret ever calling you.

I suggest you call him back and waste his time a bit.  It is a complete scam.

My brother got a message and panicked a bit.  The guy was pretending to be calling from IRS (they manipulate the caller ID to show 800 829 1040, which is a correct IRS number - don't be fooled by this).

The guy was pretending that my brother owed back taxes and asked him to be pay by Walgreens Debit card - total fraud.  I wish we can actually screw with this guy a bit.

I got a voice mail from somebody identifying himseelf as officer Mark Thomas calling from Client Investigation Dept on April 21, 2014 at 1:36 pm CST.  Reason behind call is that I have received a legal affidavit/ legal caase file in my name.  He left a ph #: 512 541 2184 and asked me to to call him asap to discuss the matter in detail.

The accent sounded Indian (somebody who is from India).

The ph# on my caller ID was 800 829 1040 and name was US Internal Rev.

The message is from Danial brown which says calling from crime investigation deptt about an affidavit filed for a serious matter and left a message for a call back same thick husky voice surprising thing is the original call shows 800 number from USCIS atlanta and left a message from Austin Texas

This person called me today with a thick accent wants to proceed with legal action. He is saying he is from USiGS.. Total fraud.

I also received a call from same number and message is not fully clear but says he is officer lawson or johnson from CIS immigration services and he has an affidavit for ... Kid or my case and i need to call as soon as possible and he can not disclose details.

GOT A SIMILAR PHONE CALL,FROM THE ABOVE NUMBER CLAIMING HE IS AN IMMIGRATION OFFICER CLAIMS THAT HE HAS AFFIDAVIT FOR A KID AND HE NEEDS TO SPEAK TO ME ASAP. HE HAD A STRONG ACCENT. BEWARE DO NOT CALL/SPEAK TO THIS FRAUD.

I call them back and finally they are demanding money for Al-Quida and Kashmir terrorist while posing as US Department of Immigration officer. Be sure not to give them any information or credit card record otherwise you will get stuck for helping enemies of US.

This guy also left same message on my phone and when i call back then got answering machine. Where I really file report for this call and trust me Houston police is useless as few years back I received call from people claiming as Al-Quida and want donation and Houston police in place of filing case told me to change the phone number or pay them

Left a message on my home phone saying that his name was Mike Johnson. Need to call him ASAP since a identity claim has been filed against me!

Got the call from above number...saying there is federal invesigation under my name...call back as soon as possible.  

This person called me today and left a message in my voice mail, I am saving it.
He said, his name is John William and there is case being filed from a Crime Unit Investigation against me to find out about my identity then he said, please call me as soon as possible, so I can stop the legal process against you.
I called him back but he didn't pick up the phone, he does have an accent.

Same scam - thick accent which kept changing - claimed it was an IRS affidavit against my husband - supervisor had a changing accent too - initially British and when I challenged him - it turned into an Indian accent!!

Threatening call about IRS and being sued if I did not settle immediately...Their names were Officer Don Lawson and also used Eric Hall.  This is a scam trying to get me to settle with payment when I have no issues with the actual IRS agent.  They are acting like they are with the IRS and they are not.  They are a bunch of dimwits acting like an IRS agent...
