I recently purchased a 2009 Toyota Corrolla.  All of a sudden I start getting these notices in the mail from "Department of Vehicle Services" offering me an extended warranty .  Said that my current warranty will expire 10/29/2012 (today is 10/25/2012).  The vehicle isn't under any warranty now.  I didn't even bother to call the 1-855-227-3499 number because I already suspect this is a bunch of crap.  Don't do it.  Don't even call them back because then you've made contact.  Like the other person on here said, "Get caller ID and don't answer your phone unless it's a number you recognize".  This world is full of crap like this anymore.  Some people just have no conscience.

Missed a call, called them back.  They asked if I was Mr Holt, which I am not.  I said this is a cell phone and do not call again.  Then I was hung up on immediately. Hope they call back.  I am going to play the game and waste their time.

These people have gotten information regarding me and a vehicle.  They say they are calling to follow up from the car manufactor and wanted to offer me an extended warranty.  They apparrantly aren't very smart.  You see I have a 10 year or 100,000 manufactor coverage.  The car has under 40,000 miles and is 4 years old.  I have 6 more years before I need to even THINK about extending an warranty.  Asked to be removed from their list.

Wasn't able to find out exactly the name of this company  but as described above they're crass, rude, and prudent. They tried to confirm the car I was driving and also if I wanted their suspicious  "extended vehicle coverage". When I informed them I was not interested they proceed to mimic me and make fun of my accent. I hope whomever these scammers are, they get found soon. So much wrong breeding in the world I chose not to give in to their stupidity and went back to enjoying my dinner with my family and loved ones.

4/18/2012 at 5:42 pm, I received a call from this number and the man stated that he was in the vehicle service department and wanted to know if was still driving a Suburban.  I knew right away that this was not a legal call, so I said I do not own a Suburban and hung up!

Got a similar call a few minutes ago...same come on; asked me if I owned a Toyota Tundra.
I told her no, I sold it two years ago.
Then she asked what I was driving now !
It's an obvious fishing expedition out to secure personal information about you.
Don't tell them anything and hang up.
I've received so many fraudulent phone calls seeking personal information in the past week - I'm at the point of threatening to reach thru the phone and strangle them with the phone cord...if that were possible !

Woman said she was with Vehicle Information center and my "file" came across her desk which showed that I drive an 06 cadillac.  Told her I haven't had that car for years. She asked me of she could ask what I'm driving now, and I told her No.  Shouldn't she know that if she's anywhere NEAR legitimate?  Who are these people and what are they after?  This is why I hardly ever answer my phone anymore and NEVER EVER if it's a toll-free number!  I'm supposed to have an unlisted number, but that's a joke!

They are the worst people on the planet.  They play dumb and won't provide you with information.  They called my house saying that I owned a 2004 Saturn ION.  They said they would change their information, not once did they ask if there had possibly been a case of FRAUD!  In fact, they were evasive and refused to give me any info or answer any of my questions.  They are shady and unprofessional.  I more I asked questions, the shadier they got.  It as like they wanted to get me angry so they could end the call.  I will be calling my attorney and possibly have them implicated in assisting whomever committed fraud utilizing my information and withholding information of the person or persons that provided them with my information.
